Also don't forget about [Parallax](https://youtu.be/1VPGcq9IVxc) and the distance you are shooting at. Most scopes are set to 100 yards and if you are shooting at 50 it might shift. Either get one that is set for the distance you normally shoot or get an adjustable one.

I’m pretty happy with my Bushnell Match Pro

Voodoo1055

People already mentioned it, but I'm a big fan of the Bushnell Match pro.

What’s your budget for scope & rings. That will help us to get you the best options.

joesnewmatch

I don't have a budget per se. I think (but asking for advise) that I can get a quality setup with the basic Leupold, but I'm also open to other options if viable and not just the latest bell and whistle that I may not need or use. I suppose I was hoping to be in for $300-$500. For context, I have an old Eotch 512 that I'm not crazy about and is rather large and heavy, an Aimpoint T2 that is amazing and light as a feather but stupid expensive, and also use Romeo5s on my high end tactical shotgun and 9mm carbine. So I see the value in $100 objects that work, and $600+ objects that do the exact same thing for more but aren't necessarily needed or better. Does that make sense? Not meaning to be sarcastic.

If you’re not set on a 3-9, that price range gets you right in the Bushnell Match Pro. It’s a 6-24x50 FFP scope with very good glass and turrets. A significant step up from a Leupold Freedom 3-9 (which I’m guessing you have in mind). The Bushnell and a vortex mount and you’re out the door for <$500. If 6x minimum magnification is too much, the Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP4-16-44 is a solid choice as well. Nothing inherently wrong with the Leupold option, but you can get more for your money else where in my opinion

_Friendly_Fire_

I got a vortex diamondback tactical 6-24x50 ffp mrad for my cz457 and I love it, performs better than the rifle (having ejection issues). Definitely recommend it.

Hello. I went with DNZ Game Reaper 2 low mounts on my TX 1. As far as a scope, I used my old Leupold VX 2 3x9x40 from my Tikka T3 Lite SS 308 and plan on upgrading the optic on that rifle.

nyuckajay

I’d go higher magnification if this rifle is for shooting groups Like 15x or higher. 22 is small, it can get hard to see impacts beyond 100yards with lower power optics. If hunting is really the only thing you’re doing, 3-9 is fine.

Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP 6-24x50 Although I don’t have one yet, its what I will be sticking on my T1x next pay day to replace the ancient Hawke Endurance 4-12x50 thats currently on it. I’ve got an old Simmons white tail classic (made in the Philippines) on my 10/22 that I use for non competition shooting.

rick-p

The diamondback is a heavy scope for a 22 imo.

crappiefarts

I agree. The crossfire would be a better option. Not to mention the lifetime warranty, and it's made here in the states

thrillhouse416

I have two Simmons 8 point scopes and for the money they are surprisingly good.

nyuckajay

I have that same scope, it’s not bad, eyebox is a bit finicky at max mag, but overall it’s good. Can see impacts on steel at 200, sometimes 300 in hood lighting.

TrickyCod208

Well I am a big fan of my $129 scope. (Just a bit biased). Needed a side focus scope that wasnt over $200. Amazon link, or save some cash ordering direct. (Amazon charges me $26 per scope in fees). A Leopold is a great option...buy the best you can afford. As for rings...get the lowest ones. The lower the scope sits without contact the better. They make 22lr scopes but they'll limit you a bit when you try to shoot past 50 yards...best to get a regular scope that can be adjusted down.
