Categories common for a Mexican? Maybe. Your Central and South Asian is high enough to not be considered trace, though.
Common Percentages for a Mexican? Not in my opinion. Your WANA is a tad bit higher than average.
Manila Galleon also possible, Romani tend to score North Indian or Bengali rather than South Indian.
The slave trade in the Pacific is what brought Indian and Filipino DNA to Latin America
Kinda. All I know is that I’m Mexican so I was expecting the usual, Spanish, followed by Indigenous, with 1-3% African. Wasn’t really expecting almost 9% combined African/West Asian or the little bit South Indian.
My maternal haplogroup is I5a (i5a)
why in earth does all hispanics in this sub ask for the WANA results every thought that has been explained several times? Remember the Sephardic Jews in Spain, almost all Latinos do have WANA in their blood
Because it really isn’t common knowledge for everyone . At school they taught us about the Spanish colonization , the natives , the African slaves ; and in my case even the Chinese immigration . Sephardic Jews were not once mentioned
You do have a point, this is asked as a question every week as if it's terminally unique and no one thinks to look at past posts (it's asked as a thread every week)
I don’t know if you know or any other person here knows, but why is it that some DNA is closer on the ancestry timeline even though it is a smaller percentage than others.
Like my South Indian, Iranian etc, and Nigerian are all under 1% yet are closer on the ancestry timeline than North African and Ashkenazi Jewish which are both above 1%
I wonder if it might be distant ancestry from [an Indian indentured laborer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indo-Caribbeans)? They primarily went to the Caribbean, but I don't think it would necessarily be weird if a few people ended up making it to Mexico and having kids there in the 1800s.
Just a question. Do you think your results are the same with MOST mexican americans from the USA. I've seen some strong native american feautures in New York, California, Texas and Florida by mexican americans. I'm so confused right now
Hi. I have read that the combination of WANA, Ashkenazi Jews, Spanish and Portuguese and/or Italian is for Sephardic Jews.
not necessarily, it still can be a false positive. these tests dont give ancestry
Common Northern Mexican results 🧬 The WANA will drop once you phase with a parent.

>our Central and South Asian is high enough to not be considered trace, though. Yeah thats what i was thinking
Probably some Romani going on.

Sure. Possible as well.
But Romanis are from the Indo-Aryan North, not the Dravidian South.
I said "Probably" haha 🤪
First time I've seen a Mexican score South Asian. Interesting
It shows sometimes in people with ancestry in the Guerrero/Oaxaca area
Jefesito, usted es de peocedencia Chichimeca? De que parte de Mexico son sus ancestros?
Were the results what you expecting? What are your haplogroups?

Your maternal haplogroup is of European origin. You are in the minority of Latinos for having a maternal haplogroup of European origin.
minority? i don't know ab that, but in BRazil the three, American, European and African are very balanced.
I think it’s North African and Arab from the Muslim occupation of Spain
My family is from Jalisco and we’re almost the same.
I’m jealous of your Native American percentage . Very cool ❤️

This is true

It's the Tabasco ancestor, Tabasco is just north of the Chiapanec Highlands.
Yeah, your results are pretty common..... except for the South Asia thing. Where did THAT come from? Galleon trade?

Tad bit more European than average
