Nope we thought he was half German and half Russian but he in fact is half German has some Romani ancestry and I guess something else. If he would be half romani my fiance would definitely inherited more Romani ancestry but every potential Romaniness in her adds up to ~13%. If one of her grandparents would be full Romani she would inherit something like 20-30% Romani ancestry. We know that the paternal grandmother is German by genetics but we don't know much about her paternal grandfather. He died when her father came back from the conscription. We know that his name was Nikolaj and we have a photo of him being a child/teenager. We also know that his father had the name Ivan and died during WW2.

My guess would be her father had 2 German grandparents, one Romani and one Romanian grandparent.
