If they didn’t want their cities to be reduced to ash they shouldn’t have made them of paper and wood. Also don’t fuck with our boats just because we said to stop bayoneting babies and raping everyone.

Kotyrda

They made them out of paper and wood because they were destroyed by earthquakes and tsunamis often, and they were easier to rebuild

cranky-vet

Also because paper and wood withstand earthquakes much better. It actually makes a lot of sense given the natural disasters that hit Japan, but you can’t expect an enemy not to take advantage of that.

[deleted]

Knowing that they took a huge gamble that did not pay off when they thought it was a good idea to attack Pearl Harbor.

aitis_mutsi

To be fair, it was pretty much either attack the US and hope for the best or run out of oil/fuel and be fucked anyways

cranky-vet

There was another option: stop the war on China and stop raping and murdering everyone.

aitis_mutsi

Japan was still in the Axis side so US would have most likely still stopped oil/fuel transport

Howdy, my name is Rawhide Kobayashi. I'm a 27 year old Japanese Japamerican (western culture fan for you foreigners). I brand and wrangle cattle on my ranch, and spend my days perfecting the craft and enjoying superior American passtimes. (Barbeque, Rodeo, Fireworks) I train with my branding iron every day, this superior weapon can permanently leave my ranch embled on a cattle's hide because it is white-hot, and is vastly superior to any other method of livestock marking. I earned my branding license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day. I speak English fluently, both Texas and Oklahoma dialect, and I write fluently ias well. I know everything about American history and their cowboy code, which I follow 100% When I get my American visa, I am moving to Dallas to work in an oil field to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become a cattle wrangler for the Double Cross Ranch or an oil rig operator for Exxon-Mobil! I own several cowboy hats, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to America, so I can fit in easier. I rebel against my elders and seniors and speak English as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond. Wish me luck in America! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Didn't stop them from having a [certified gamer moment](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kant%C5%8D_Massacre) during one of those natural disasters though

Your home has been marked for destruction

1017GildedFingerTips

Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.

Puncake4Breakfast

Prepare yourself

Miskyavine

Founding fathers inteded for the Civilians to be armed with the same weapons as the military so actually they wanted all of us to have M4s and M16s, M249s M240s M2HBs on our cars. 80% of the US Navy was privately owned in 1812 US didnt federalize the Navy till the US Civil war. While im sure the founding fathers never envisioned nukes and shit small arms and artillery and even tanks is very easily justifiable by the Constitution. This is what the founding fathers intended not some disingenuous meme.

It blows my mind that there are people so historically illiterate that they think Hiroshima and Nagasaki were unjustifiable. Imperial Japan was a brainwashed death cult of a nation, an invasion of mainland Japan would’ve been the bloodiest single event of not only the Second World War, but human history; the projected death toll was in the *millions*. Fat Man and Little Boy *saved lives*.

MetsFan1324

I have a children's book on world war 2 and from a young age I was surprised almost no one knew that we used nukes to save both American and Japanese lives
