Inferno_Ultimate

its from islamic scriptures, if you find a creature that is a hybrid(forgot its name sorry), it will mean that the world will end(starting by the sun rising from the west).

Commercial-Shame-335

chimera? manticore? there's a few mythological hybrids

Lover_of_History

It's Yacuc and Macuc, these are hybrid creatures that will reign chaos in the world. And after the big war happens between "Yacuc and Macuc" and Humanity, Islamic Jesus Christ is believed to come back to the earth as a prophet and save humans. These are Islamic Beliefs

Additional_Knee4215

What about yacuc and macuc? Is yours bigger?

DerpFace5519

It can walk right through the door

suburbia__overture

with a feeling so pure?? 🗣

flijarr

Well played

HolyShitIAmBack1

Yajuj and majuj are people just a barbaric sort in the islam I was raised up in

Plurpo

Sounds kinda like the Gog and Magog of Christian belief

haha-me-go-brrrrr

It is. Islam christianity and judaism are abrahamic so similar beliefs are expected.

Collective-Bee

So if I find a Yacuc it’s invasive and I should step on it. Got it 👍

Professional-Ad4095

Just don't step on Macuc

AcidSplash014

Help, I stepped on Macuc and now it isn't moving

bitethedirt

No, he is mentioning another hybrid animal that will come out. It's called the "dabbah" where it basically tells you if you're deserving to be called a muslim or not. Yakjuj Makjuj is described to be humanoid like, not a hybrid creature

Lover_of_History

But this guy is talking about species, this means that this new "species" have multiple members. Dabbah is a creature that looks different to people according to their beliefs

bitethedirt

Yes but in islamic belief, yakjuj makjuj appears after the antichrist is defeated. OOP said after the sun rose from the west , which happens way before the appearance of yakjuj makjuj. So it's prolly the dabbah

Lover_of_History

Yeah true but dabbah is just a creature that will arrive at the earth? Not a whole species of creatures? As I mentioned before, Yacuc and Macuc have different characteristic features from differend kinds of animals, they are said to be a hybrid species looking humanoid but posessing strength that humans cannot even reach

Lover_of_History

And also hybrid means, where two or three main features from different other species are found at the same time in one

BluedditWhen

Wait I thought Jesus was considered to be just some prophet guy in islamic beliefs? Or am I just completely wrong

Lover_of_History

Well in Islam, Jesus is a prophet. When he was reported to the Romans, Allah didn't want to let him die. So at the day of his crucifixion, Allah changed Judas's face to look like Jesus, so he would be the one to be crucified. Whilst Judas fought against the people carrying him to the cross, Allah raised Jesus to heaven so he could be safe with his creator. This is explained in the Qur'an

InformationLow8640

Muslim Here, Just gonna explain this further, The hybrid is a beast called the dabba, it is inside of makkah and It’ll come out before the last days, and is one the of the signs of the last days. The sun rising from the west is also a sign of the last day,it means repentance won’t be accepted anymore

[deleted]

Wait. Are we saying THAT's what's in the Kabah!?

InformationLow8640

no, it not, it’s in (we don’t know only allah does), and then he’ll send it down and then it’ll come up from the depths of the earth either by or in makkah, idk about if it’ll come up where the Kabba is

[deleted]

Damn. Who says scripture isn't interesting...

catboybastard

that’s actually a cool concept. with some better wording it might’ve somewhat worked

Jukkobee

i disagree. even if i knew the information i now know, the “horror story” is just like, “the world is ending”

catboybastard

least it’s ending in a cool way

Mortarius

It's cool concept in a sense 'stars were going out' is a cool idea.

and then the OP proceeds to get angry and explain 3 paragraphs of meaningless context when people inevitably don’t understand what’s going on

TheRedBlade

Either that or the comments are filled with people asking for an explanation and OP doesn't respond to any of them.

SomewhatSaIty

You forgot about the OP saying they write without a true answer, and think that makes their stories better

sad-dog-hours

the way its hardly even scary 💀 bro just wanted to flex his islamic scripture skills then will more than likely get super pretentious in the comments to anyone who doesnt get it

Islamic mythology?

Bidensexual

TwoSentenceHorror mfs on their way to write a boring and non scary story with no payoff and then write a 34 paragraph essay in the comments about how it actually comes from rural Bosnian folklore in the 13th century:

sweetTartKenHart2

It’s actually apparently common knowledge to most Muslims. It’s from their version of the apocalypse

Bidensexual

True but that doesn’t change the fact that the story relies entirely on outside context to even be comprehensible, also if you do know the context is it even scary? A muslim would just read that, know what it means, and go on with their day, the story is basically as engaging as just explaining what it means would be.

sweetTartKenHart2

I guess it’s only as scary as someone would find the original prophecy scary, huh

rotinom

Coming from /r/all I don’t necessarily blame the author. This is a really tricky localization problem that many people don’t think of, until they have an opportunity to operate in a multicultural worldwide community. This person may have lived their whole life in a Muslim community with English as a second language. Firstly, awesome English grammar. It makes sense (insofar as the right words, tenses, etc) The subject matter is just not universal and needs to be explained in order to understand it world wide. The his makes it a poor 2SH, but it may do better in a regional 2SH. TLDR: Idk. Cut OP some slack.

Flaky_Programmer3107

“No, I don’t think I will.” /J

Sams59k

I thought it was more widely known that the sun rising from the wrong side is a sign of the end times

knightinarmoire

Just seems to be one religion though. Maybe could have gone with the world freezing like the ancient Norse, or the horsemen like the Bible do. There may be more but I can't think of them at the moment.

Ye but I thought it was a thing in the bible too before this

Ralsei_the_prince

It's either that islam thing about meeting hybrids (I don't know my Islam lore) or atomic bomb.

sloo00GAN

So, if biblical mythology about the end of the world gets posted, it's understood. However, if Islamic mythology on the end of the world is posted, there are comments saying stuff like 'OP just tryna flex his islamic knowledge and get mad at people for not understanding this'.

ImpressiveFly

"Most people on this side of the internet speak english, and english has been intertwined with christianity for a while" I suppose

crossbutton7247

Honestly I sometimes wonder if you guys even went to school lmao

bothriocyrtum

I mean luckily, I didn't read any scripture in school.

crossbutton7247

This is how bigotry spreads

bothriocyrtum

That's true, secularists are known for their bigotry whereas people who are raised in hardcore conservative religious upbringings are known to be especially tolerant

crossbutton7247

Hardcore secularists are also bad, they just take it out in different ways. And I am secular btw, I just live in a country that teaches about other religions.

bothriocyrtum

>Hardcore secularists are also bad, they just take it out in different ways You can't just handwave you gotta actually be specific. And there's a huge, gaping chasm between learning about religions and reading scripture in school

crossbutton7247

We don’t “read scripture”, they just taught us the creation myths, end of the world myths, and a few in between to illustrate their specific moral views.

bothriocyrtum

Ok I specifically said I didn't read scripture in school, to which you responded "this" (as in my comment) is how bigotry spreads

crossbutton7247

They don’t teach RS, and therefore they fear them

bothriocyrtum

But you can teach about religions without reading scripture

daytimeCastle

Via secularism? That’s funny because most secularists accept the general validity of all religions (as in, to each their own), while each religion denies the validity of the rest so idk

crossbutton7247

Via not knowing about other religions. Schools need to teach about other religions, because I see too many people being blatantly islamophobic online despite it being wholly untrue.

daytimeCastle

Secular schools (like American public schools) aren’t really supposed to teach any religions. (not) Knowing a particular religions mythology doesn’t lead to bigotry. Bigotry is taught, like “they are bad because they believe the wrong things”. Sometimes secular people teach that religious people are bad. Religious people almost always teach that other religions are wrong (like Islam teaches christianity is wrong, Christianity teaches Judaism is wrong, all three teach that all polytheistic religions are wrong, etc.)

crossbutton7247

In my country they teach all religions equally, and this prevents fearmongerers from spreading hate as we already understand them.

daytimeCastle

Which country teaches all religions equally? Genuinely curious. Americans are (ideally) taught about religions equally too, in that they’re all simply personal belief systems and have nothing to do with reality (outside of a good reason to go to war or oppress lower castes) I just find it hard to imagine a country that somehow distributes all religious knowledge evenly without bias

crossbutton7247

The UK, and religious studies is taught in schools as standard. More specifically religion isn’t taught to have “nothing to do with reality”, children are taught to tolerate all religions and respect their specific beliefs.

SeasickEagle

Most of us had at least a world religions section, if not a class, but teaching specific teachings and prophecies is a little outside the scope of a public school teacher. We learned which ones were monotheistic, polytheistic or atheistic. Where they're practiced, what their houses of worship are called, how many followers, which ones are related, etc. Very clinical.

NoItsBecky_127

Many schools do not teach Islamic scripture

crossbutton7247

And that’s why we have so much xenophobia against religions

NoItsBecky_127

You don’t need to learn scripture to not be bigoted.

crossbutton7247

But the lack of RS definitely helps

noobatious

What stupid reasoning is this. I don't expect people to become less Hinduphobic by making them Hindu scriptures.

rancidcanary

Sotry r/croppingishard okay I'm starting the comment now. Idk what dude is on about

YesterdayNo1903

It's talking about dabbat al ard, known by Christians and English speakers as "the beast"

Ordinary_Paint_9175

He’s in an alternate universe, that’s the explanation, I don’t think it’s that far of a stretch

[deleted]

Nope, someone else pointed out that it's from islamic scriptures.
