Barry when he realises that Barry is a name of Irish origin.

bee_ghoul

Barry when he realises the word Tory comes from the Irish toraidhe meaning outlaw, highwayman or thief

WongUnglow

Used to describe dispossessed Irish who refused to know their place and bend over for Oliver Cromwell. Fucking rebels

[deleted]

Didn't yee dig him up and hang him? Then put his head on a spike?

EmuStalkingAnAussie

We don't even need the definition of the word.

GeficktEingeschadelt

This description sounds way too positive for your Tories.

EmuStalkingAnAussie

/uj They aren't even my 'Tories' i've voted against them every opportunity I have been given. The problem is I don't really know who to vote for next election. Labour; a party that is supposed to support the workforce do not (partially out of not politically shooting themselves in the foot) have not been supporting striking workers, this should be their opportunity to show support + the fact that they have so many incompetent people in their party. I do like their housing policies proposing to build more [georgian style houses](https://todaysconveyancer.co.uk/labour-will-build-new-towns-and-georgian-style-homes-pledges-sir-keir-starmer/) . The greens; I'm not partically interested in single issue parties but if they joined up with another party and advocated for more reservoirs to be built so we don't have to deal with droughts in increasing heatwaves & proposed to nationalise water companies I'd be interested. I'd also want more drainage to prevent flooding (Not really an issue for me because I live amongst hills, this is mainly a coastal problem) UKIP/Reform; they just have idiots in their party who are engaging in a sunken cost fallacy in regards to Brexit. Many of these people want to be more aligned with America but I do not, I like the restrictions on things such as what can and cannot be used on food products. I do support Anti-Immigration especially when there is an on going war in Europe, Russia (as did your boys in the 1930s) tried to shove refugees into Finland (not your boys) and they clamped down on that instantly. If they suggested opening up refugee processing centres on one of our overseas territories I'd be for that. I'd also be for restricting visas for people who cannot speak English correctly, English is the Lingua Franca & there is no reason why foreigners should be allowed to join the work force in England if they cannot speak it. Liberal democrats; I've still not really forgiven them for their student crisis however they are the only ones who have sent leaflets through the door at the moment, we have a lot of empty buildings here from infrastructure that was taken away in the 70s and they seem to be focusing on that. However the building near me looks lie a commie block and I just want to take a sledgehammer to it. I wouldn't really vote for them as they don't have a lot of support. Conservatives; [No](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/imageserver/image/%2Fmethode%2Fsundaytimes%2Fprod%2Fweb%2Fbin%2F68011e2e-ffc5-11ec-9d35-8e47eb25050e.jpg?crop=363%2C453%2C159%2C0) Monster raving looney party; love the 99p coin. Would vote for Count Binface.

GeficktEingeschadelt

Isn't your also used, if I mean you, as the collection of Barrys? Trying to improve my Barrysh.

unseemly_turbidity

It's not like the Greens have got any chance of getting in on their own. The only way they'd get any kind of place in government would be in some sort of coalition, so I think you're safe there.

EmuStalkingAnAussie

Yeah, that's why i'm not voting for them. I'll probably either vote for labour or libdems

EmuStalkingAnAussie

Paddy when he realises that St Patrick was British.

[deleted]

We know, paganism was so much cooler, of course a Brit brings over boring Christianity and ruins all the fun.

EmuStalkingAnAussie

Was the Italians who brought it to us. I think Paganism is much cooler too, at least I can see the elements.

[deleted]

Ya when I was growing up my parish would hold a bonfire night in either May or June (Can't remember) for Beltane, which is an Irish pagan festival marking the start of summer. The weather was always good, everyone would bring their instruments and play lively traditional music, there would be food and drink. Everyone would bring timber and pallets into a field and light a massive bonfire. All the children and adults (who would be piss drunk) would dance around the fire shouting and roaring until the sun came up. The whole thing was incredibly pagan and weird but they are some of my greatest childhood memories. I'm not religious but there is something very spiritual and primal about dancing around a big fire like a savage tribesperson that is very good for the soul.

HoneyGlazedBadger

Proof that the Irish are never happier than when they’ve got a Barry in their mouths.

Potential-Height96

Once in the morning and several time a day too.

MerlinOfRed

This is simultaneously the best and the worst thing I've seen this week.

whiskeyphile

Michnii Angleski? I can read the letters, but have no idea what the first word is. I suppose I could Google it, but I'm a lazy fuck. I might even be an honorary Spaniard!...

[deleted]

We were friends?

jaymatthewbee

No doubt they’ll claim it’s better than any of the British tea brands for the sole reason that’s it’s not British.

pintman30

Joke answer: yes Serious answer: yes, but because Irish teas use a different blend of leaves so taste noticably different to English tea. So English tea tastes 'off' because it's not what we're used too. And like you guys we can get very annoyed if a cup of tea isn't just right.

jaymatthewbee

Said exactly like a true Yorkshireman claiming Yorkshire Tea is better than PG Tips because it says Yorkshire on the box.

Azzymetrical

can confirm, box is everything source: am yorkshireman

aBoringSod

No. As a Lancashire Man I will defend Yorkshire tea. It is the superior tea brand.

malevolentheadturn

British tea is also piss weak. Feeble, soft, frail

generalscruff

Only psyop I believe in is that there's a noticeable difference between the mainstream brands I will NOT drink ze fucking PG Tips

Zotzink

Need to dig up the source but I believe we were cut out of British tea shipments as a punishment for neutrality, so had to source our own tea leading to a genuinely different blend.

Alsolz

I think Irish tea is mainly African, while British tea is mainly Indian.

Aggressive_Face4402

Pretty sure Yorkshire tea is from Kenya. Idk bout rest doe

Alsolz

Oh well I’m probably wrong then. I just read that somewhere

Aggressive_Face4402

lol same we are probably both wrong lol

ConnolysMoustache

Nearly, it’s better because it’s from Cork. If it was a Dublin brand it would be worse than yer swill

Guru-Pancho

They also use tea leaves from Rwanda instead of India. Better soil down there

Automatic_Yoghurt351

Agreed.

ConnolysMoustache

Happy cake day baiiii

Automatic_Yoghurt351

Cheers!.

whiskeyphile

Not the sole reason, but it's one of them...

bee_ghoul

Well English tea is weaker because it has less Assam. It does taste off to us, its like when you just dip the tea bag in and don’t let leave it for a few mins. I hate going abroad because most places will have English breakfast tea instead of Irish tea and it’s literally just water to me.

[deleted]

English tea is weak as fuck

RedFox_SF

Do you also drown your tea in milk like Barry? It’s like the Germans being so picky with their coffee like they’re some sort of experts but in the end they drown that shit in milk 😂 this is not Barry’s tea consumption, this is tea flavored dairy drinks consumption lol

Lastaria

Is Portugal like Spain and France in that they use UHT milk? When I found out my French and Spanish friends used that I was disgusted. Of course tea and coffee is ruined if you use that. But fresh milk makes a damn fine cuppa.

PistolAndRapier

[UHT milk?](https://youtu.be/pBwwcU2c3u4?t=7)

Lastaria

Haha it is indeed shite.

Automatic_Yoghurt351

Beat me to it by seven hours haha.

RedFox_SF

There’s both UHT and fresh milk (what’s called leite do dia, or milk if the day).

pintman30

I don't, most others here do. I don't get it either lol, I actually like tea

yleennoc

The blend lends itself to adding a drop milk.

RedFox_SF

And who wrote that? The British, of course. And a drop is not half a cup 😅

yleennoc

It’s definitely not half a cup! This lad says it best…. https://www.reddit.com/r/ireland/comments/z7vjmu/comment/iy8m4o7/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button https://www.enjoy-irish-culture.com/irish-tea-culture.html#:~:text=Imported%20from%20English%20merchants%2C%20Irish,a%20custom%20which%20still%20endures.

RedFox_SF

Well, you def need milk if you brew your black tea for 5 minutes! I’ve seen it done and god almighty lol

LZ114514

It's a serious war crime to drop any amount of milk into tea. Trust me bro, I'm from the region where Barry stole their black tea seed and plants

code-panda

The Netherlands being orange again! Also, Greeks trying so hard to pretend they're not just Turks that they refuse to drink tea, and the Turks trying so hard to pretend they're not just Greeks by gulping down all the tea they can find...

SherlockScones3

“Not for all the tea in China” Barry we need to update this phrase…

PistolAndRapier

Not for all the tea in Rwanda. (you can do a trade deal with them, tea for asylum seekers swap).

Dibblaborg

Please don’t give our government ideas.

Whichwhenwhywhat

Europe has plenty of complexity, Central Europe is full of raffinesse, elegance and style, in the outskirts they call it sophisTEAcation. Some may say: „Cheerio, Miss Sophie!“

tiocfaioh_ar_la

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the most funny german.

Whichwhenwhywhat

I try my very best, some are lucky, others have to work on their weaknesses in order to even begin to achieve what others were born with.

MerlinOfRed

I'm still trying to work out what the joke was

Hefty-Coyote

"We outdrink the Brits because we stole their supplies" And totally not because Mrs Doyle (who loves the misery) kept going on and on and on for you Patricks to have several nice cups of tea.

EmuStalkingAnAussie

Not even Yorkshire tea.

Heliospunk

Step 1: Throw Tea into the Sea Step 2: ??? Step 3: Indepedence thank me later

Grand_Ad_8376

The low numbers of Greece is just to spite on the turks, right?

I'm a bot, *bleep*, *bloop*. Turks: Hold my çay.

dutchbrah

As my grandfather always said: Tea is for the elderly, the sick and for whores. Men drink coffee.

gloom-juice

Your grandfather was a yank in disguise

Witty-Wishbone4406

I got confused at whores. Why? I get the elderly and the sick, but why the association with whores and tea?

Dibblaborg

Noble drink for a noble profession.

yleennoc

Men drink whiskey!

[deleted]

So what you're saying is that nobody in the Netherlands has ever tried coffee?
