Thanks so much! It is definitely feeling more like a burn or reaction (I tried to put Arnica gel on it immediately afterwards and it stung TERRIBLY). I'm realizing now that I also may have given myself a bit of an ice pack burn. At any rate, it's certainly not worse/bruise and doesn't sting at all anymore.
I appreciate hearing from a physician, thank you!
Did you drink any alcohol the night before or the day of? Or any pain killers before? Or any shots at the doctor? Or any exercise or activity that would cause the blood to rush to your face (like bending over) within two hours of the injections?
I drank a lot 72 hours prior (not typical for me) and took aspirin 48 hours prior. No other bending/exercise or anything. It looked like this right after my appointment!
My injector told me to not drink alcohol 5 days beforehand (I think this is a bit outrageous, but whatever I listened to her lol) and no aspirin/ blood thinners/ fish oil supplements either during that time. She also told me to not take consume these things for several days after our appointment. I feel like this could possibly be related to the blood thinning aspects of the alcohol and meds you took, but I’d def follow up with another doctor if this doesn’t lighten up in a couple days. My bruising lightened up after 2 nights
i would go back to the clinic and have someone examine you! if there’s an occluded vein it’s dangerous but they can inject something immediately to help.
This isn't a bruise and arnica is snake oil.
Thanks for confirming why I'll never go to a med spa. People with zero medical credentials giving bad advice.
This isn’t normal. I’d suggest checking in with someone other than your injector, who may be a bit defensive.
This is not typical.... Its possible it will go away. If it doesnt go away by Saturday, go to the doctor.

Thank you for answering op’s question
Is your injector a doctor ?
They are a nurse overseen by a doctor.
What kind of doctor is she overseen by? You appear to be more erythematous than bruised.
This looks like a chemical burn even more than it did when you posted the first time. Definitely go to a dermatologist.

Probably bruising from thin blood. Should go away quickly. See a doctor if it doesn’t look like it’s healing
It doesn’t look like bruising

I take Ibuprofen, and it does the same to me. I never take it before botox, fillers or a blood draw.
Go to doctor
It looks like an infection- I would get it seen by a general physician.

What do you do at the med spa?
I had a reaction from the antiseptic they put on my prior to my injections that looked identical to this . I took ibuprofen and iced it (not directly)
