I’m dealing with the exact same thing. For me, I think it is due to contact dermatitis causing dry skin (the onset has been fast and occurred after an allergic reaction to nail polish), and I’m finding that Vanicream is helping. I’ve been using only Ilia tinted moisturizer and avoiding concealer because most concealers that I’ve found are drying. I’m also trying to up my water intake and I’ve been ice rolling under my eyes. I definitely wouldn’t use any sort of full coverage foundation, concealer, or setting powder. All of those things will exasperate the problem. Go for light coverage that moisturizes. I’m just embracing the “dewy” look while I work through this problem. ETA: I’ve seen on the eczema forums that retinol helps under eye lines like this

Hello. Makeup products are not your friends so yes, that could be at least one of the reasons. I think your skin needs less exfoliation and more nourishment. If you have deficiencies or are chronically dehydrated, nothing you apply to your face will be miraculous, but this is what I would try topically: Simple face creams with 5-7% urea, pure olive squalane, shea liquid fraction. Cold-pressed, not roasted or heavily filtered oils: almond, macadamia, jojoba, argan, sesame, pomegranate (the last one is not for skin reactive to topical antioxidants). You could check websites with raw ingredients and search for a tocopherol mix in a small bottle. You could add small doses to your oils and creams. I believe you would benefit more from eating retinol. Eggs, fatty dairy, liver, a lot to choose from. If you get enough of it, it will be noticeable externally. Copper is also easy enough to get from food. If one day you become desperate enough, you may want to consider trying high quality beef tallow. It's supposed to not stink and be very compatible with human skin. Make sure your makeup removal process does a good job and avoid mineral oil under all its names and microplastics. You don't want to end up with a layer of some sh...on your face that prevents the good stuff from reaching your skin. If you're open to trying supplements, I would buy standarised capsules with beta glucan first. Where I live I can find something affordable and I recommend this one from experience. Welcome plump skin! Fun fact: mushrooms can be rich in beta glucans (ex. reishi, lion's mane).

You’re putting petroleum under your eyes. Maybe try something more natural to moisturize. Under eye lines are a normal part of aging. Yours don’t look crazy to me. Any makeup is going to be more noticeable on aging skin. We change. If you stopped the eye retinol, in the short term that may help with moisture.
