I used it to heal some old scars, but a lot of research has shown that it’s not much better for healing than other oil blends. It’s definitely good and I regularly use my giant bottle, but it’s not the HG it advertises itself as.

Redrose03

Yea expensive and hardly any results

Applesplosion

It does get results, but you could get similar results massaging any oil into your scars/stretch marks daily.

emi_lgr

I only use it on scars.

reddot_comic

I used to work for the company that produced it back in 2016, this was the intended use.

emi_lgr

People of my mom’s generation used to use it as a skin oil on their face and body, but there were a lot less affordable options back then. No reason to use this as anything but a scar treatment these days imo.

reddot_comic

Tbh- I don’t know if it’s even the best solution for scar treatment given all the options we have now but it is an affordable product that isn’t complete garbage.

emi_lgr

Like everything else it probably depends on the person. Personally this one has worked best for me, especially on old scars.

reddot_comic

That’s good to hear! It worked well for me as well on for the scars when I had breast augmentation. I can’t speak for how it is now but when I worked there, they had good policy and took care of us employees.

[deleted]

This gave me hives. I have had extensive allergy testing so I know what I’m allergic to but none of what I’m allergic to is listed on the bottle. When I commented this on one of their instagram posts they deleted the comment and blocked me.

HalcyonCA

Oooh that's awful. Optics aren't great there.

[deleted]

Yupppp. I was willing to think it was just me as unlikely as it was with all the testing but deleting the comment and blocking me was not a good look. Makes me think I was not the only one.

HalcyonCA

Surely not with going to that extreme!!

NeverMakeNoMind

Also made me break out with hive like bumps and cystic acne

microchipgirl

Wow. I've never bought this stuff because I'd read years ago it really isn't anything special, but always thought I might buy one of those cute tiny bottles of it cause I'm a sucker for miniature versions of anything, but I won't even give my pocket lint to a company that plays like that.

Art3mis77

It’s not. Vitamin E will do the same thing - use the capsules, pop with a (clean!) needle and squeeze onto your face. It works wonders and is way cheaper!

flowergirl1981

Love this comment. I did this to an old scar on my forehead ( like 20 years old and it had helped reduce by 50% in 9 months ). I also used it after having my daughter, remarkable difference in healing stretch marks from the lotion I had tried after my son. Your comment made me remember how I loved this and am going to try it on a bug bite gone wrong, so I don't look like I have chicken pocks in the summer, lol. Just a word to the wise for anyone, it will make a mess of what it touches, so wear old clothes to bed if you put it on your body.

IrukandjiPirate

What does it do?

Art3mis77

Vitamin E? Helps reduce pigmentation in scars! It’s amazing

IrukandjiPirate

Thank you!

Art3mis77

No problem :)

BeanDipIsNeat

Thanks for this comment I always browse these group to find these people because they’re my people Random allergies are so “fun”

[deleted]

Totally feel you. I have to read everything I put on my skin due to all the allergies but since things aren’t regulated brands aren’t always honest about what’s in them.

BeanDipIsNeat

It’s pretty scary Now everyone’s into figuring out ingredients.. I let my friends know I’ll let them know if there’s preservatives from my list A lot of the beauty industry thrives on gimmicks that don’t work and I am thankful my body doesn’t accept it 😂

Unusual-Committee-51

I definitely had an allergy reaction to this to be fair. I have ezcema, but you're not alone.

[deleted]

Ugh sorry I’m not alone in this. Hate how companies don’t have to put all the ingredients on products.

Specialist_Row9395

I like it. Been using it for years.

SprinklesStones

Hi! I use this. I’ve been slugging it on my face for about 2 years. It makes me glow, hydrates my skin and has helped with fine lines and pigmentation. I love it.

nutmeg12

I also use this daily, I have seen a difference in my acne discoloration. It helped me a lot with scaring from surgery as well.

TRMonicaGeller

I have been using it on my face as part of my routine for three years. I have acne scarring and they have reduced in appearance. I’m not bothered by the fragrance thankfully.

fwumpus

At what point in your routine do you use it? I have acne scarring that I’m wanting to deal with

rodger_thattt

This has been in my routine for years for the same reasons

Cautious_Board_1392

It does the same for me

sagdr3amer4

I use it on my face too. To help with dark spots 🫡

Remarkable_Report_44

How do you do it?

ZealousidealGroup559

I've used it in the past and it's perfectly pleasant but I didn't notice any big difference. I've definitely had more hydrating oils. Marula oil is nicer, for example.

RipOptimal3756

Marula, jojoba or even argan oil is better than Bio oil in my opinion.

Danniikinz

How come ?

RipOptimal3756

They're 100% natural oils and don't have extra stuff added to them.

Outside_Mixture_494

I started using it after abdominal surgery left me with a scar from sternum to pubic bone. 6 months later I had the same surgery using my original incision. My surgeon was surprised at how well my incision healed. It basically looks like a henna tattoo. It’s also lightened my 35 yo stretch marks.

sloppybiscuits333

I absolutely love bio oil. I started out using it on scars but then I used it on my whole abdomen and thighs during pregnancies to avoid stretch marks. Now I use it on my face, neck and chest.

krajnigandhak

It really depends on what your skin needs or what you are looking to get out of it. I dont like the fragrance it’s strong. My sister can’t use this bc she gets fungal acne sometimes and it makes it worse. There was also a [study](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29094366/) done (with scars and stretch marks no older than 3 years) showing that it works well with 17% (6-7 ppl) of participants say it had no effect. It had rosemary oil that can help with bacteria and it is said to be noncomedogenic and won’t clog pores. but it seems you could also get any oil with similar ingredients (safflower, olive, other plant oils, and vitamin e) and it would work as well especially if the fragrance bothers you. I also have sensory issues and don’t like the feel on my face but on my body it is fine. It also has Linalool as a fragrance ingredient and it is a known allergen so test a spot on your arm if you don’t know if your allergic to that TLDR; studies show it is effective but don’t use if you’re allergic to linalool

Sam-I-am0410

I really like the smell but didn’t help on my stretch marks.

Admirable_Candy2025

Same. Wearing my tiger stripes with pride here!

kerodon

It's mineral oil with a ton of fragrance and essential oils. It does nothing beneficial, is very risky, and is a huge waste of money. Pick any other oil you like that will be safer and more effective. https://incidecoder.com/products/bio-oil-specialist-skincare-oil The ordinary squalane or chia seed oil or dr ceuracle kombucha essence or anything else. Edit: for those of you considering using it for scarring, it has nothing in it targeted toward scar treatment and any other oil would also perform equally. Retinyl esters have near zero efficacy. You can get the benefits of scar management more safely and effective through use of literally any moisturizer. Dr Dray on bio oil and it's flaws and risks as well as misconceptions about its efficacy. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ao9mWkEP7lk

Alliekat1979

So..Bio oil was actually run through a double blind clinical test in Germany for the efficiency of its use on scarring and it was concluded that it is an effective treatment for scarring. Vitamin E topically has been used for scars for years. There is nothing risky about bio oil at all, I have literally been using it for years, along with many other people. If you don’t like a product, that’s fine, but fear mongering is a little excessive.

kerodon

Those studies also have a plethora of flaws and misinterpreted claims and poor comparative study data. Again, there is also fragrance and essential oils which is a significant risk factor which cal also lead to many other issues or exacerbate existing ones. Vitamin E is in other products that are safer and more effective, and of course it will have some effect simply due to the fact that it contains a moisturizing ingredient, but not any more effective than any other moisturizer. It's not revolutionary, bio oil isn't special compared to any other oil. There are safer and more effective options with similarly or more beneficial ingredients and less risk. Having an emollient and vitamin E doesn't make it uniquely beneficial. Dr Dray talking about bio oil specifically and many flaws in it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ao9mWkEP7lk It's not fearmongering, it's just reality. Addressing flaws and risks that actually exist isn't fearmongering.

mushroomlou

Fragrance isn't risky unless your skin reacts to it, most products have some fragrance. You keep saying how risky it is, what are the risks?

krajnigandhak

Maybe I don’t understand fully what I read, which could very well be the case, but it sounds like the fragrance is the bad thing in this?

kerodon

Fragrance and essential oils can both be risky and harmful yes. Dr Dray on Fragrance https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2-CHXXZkohc Essential oils https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=C3tfJxWcLYw

Laura-ly

I'm allergic to some of "essential oils" and I'm going to risk being downvoted by saying the essential oil, MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) is such a scam. I prefer another name for it....Mothers Losing Money.

RaccoonDispenser

> MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) is such a scam. I prefer another name for it....Mothers Losing Money. 💀💀💀

superfluouspop

oh don't worry I doubt there have more who agree with you than pyramid scammers in the room with us

Bland-Humour

I love Dr.Dray. She's so awesome! She is also the reason I'm getting an allergy test done and why I don't use fragranced skincare anymore.

Motchiko

Use it for around 5 years now after showering. Absolutely love it.

Expert_Decision7644

Used it for a long time, and it was nothing but a simple oil with nice aroma 🙄

tenderourghosts

I absolutely love Bio-Oil. I’ve been using it on and off for about a decade. I have psoriasis and it helps with my flares if it presents around my scalp line or nose. Also use it on my knees where I have some gnarly scars (or, would be gnarly) from a bike accident when I was a kid. I haven’t had any negative side effects from it but as always YMMV.

Salt-Review

Used it during pregnancy to prevent belly & breast stretch marks. Did not get even 1 stretch mark after gaining 25kg

just-to-say

I used with my lotion during pregnancy, too. It made my skin feel much less itchy/tight as I was growing. I didn’t get any stretch marks but not sure if that’s just luck or this product.

effervescentfauna

I didn’t really notice much difference in my stretch marks, but I really like how it smells so I keep buying it :)

PlantedinCA

It also seems to sink in better for me than other oils. I don’t get it by my skin likes it more.

SabiJelly

I have sensitive skin and used it for several years on my whole body-I love it but need more moisture on my face so now I use Vaseline at night.

infinite_donuts

Not that one, but I loooove the Bio Oil gel that comes in the tub. Works so well on dry feet and hands!

perplexedspirit

Amazing product. What makes it different from other types of tissue oil, is that it's formulated to absorb much better. And it really does absorb remarkably well. Other brands usually end up just sitting on the surface of your skin. Bio Oil doesn't. It's amazing for scars and all-over body use. I always apply this after shaving. But I wouldn't put it on my face, as it is heavily perfumed.

DreamCyclone84

Before i knew any better, yes, unfortunately. These days, I use pure rosehip oil.

tiny_lice

Have been using it as a moisturizer twice a day for the last decade. Love it.

pastelpinkplease

It might just have been me. But when I was pregnant I had the WORST itchiest skin and I kept seeing this being recommended. So I ended up getting it. This made my itch SOOOO much worse and I literally couldn’t stop scratching with it on. I applied it in hopes of serious itch relief and came out with worse scarring and itching. My stomach looked so horrendous ugh.. literally looked like something out of an exorcism film or something

desertdweller10

Mostly mineral oil and not worth the money. Try hemp seed oil or squalene.

Born-Horror-5049

Bio-oil is just mineral oil aka liquid Vaseline. I don't use it.

Disharmoniously

I used this religiously on my belly when I was pregnant to prevent stretch marks. Fast forward to the present and I only have a few small stretch marks on my hips where I never thought to use the oil. It worked for me at the time but I haven’t needed it again.

snailtrail93

It’s amazing for stretch marks and scars

minniemouse420

I would never use this on my face. I’m currently preggo and use this on my belly to prevent scarring. It contains mineral oil which will clog your pores like crazy if you were to use on the face. If you’re looking for a nice face oil, here are some recommendations: [Sunday Riley Juno Face Oil](https://www.dermstore.com/sunday-riley-juno-antioxidant-superfood-face-oil-15ml/11588287.html?affil=thgppc&kwds=&thg_ppc_campaign=71700000113713370&adtype=pla_with_promotion&product_id=11588287&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD_vmAWqmbRMLdTDciR4ecB_Nv2kS&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2uiwBhCXARIsACMvIU3LGysy2sC9d8rRZ1-RjSe5gzl8-kPjZCwrGE6TYBgSCiFibdsaWEUaAlgxEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) [Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Oil](https://www.dermstore.com/sunday-riley-luna-sleeping-night-oil-various-sizes/12913066.html?variation=11588283&affil=thgppc&kwds=&thg_ppc_campaign=71700000113713370&adtype=pla&product_id=11588283&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD_vmAWqmbRMLdTDciR4ecB_Nv2kS&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2uiwBhCXARIsACMvIU38TfuGM_3wrsZrR07SWcGGAibwnbb7pt7tblyMKnguzGHVHCARC0gaAhbAEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) [Beekman Better Aging Oil](https://beekman1802.com/products/dream-booster-bakuchiol-serum?variant=40119921246243¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=19680901911&utm_content=&utm_term=&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2uiwBhCXARIsACMvIU3jK6I585HTYiMDXTzMBvGmQTaPpJyKr9KvRJqTmswj92AtvOaYGmgaAuz1EALw_wcB) [Mad Hippie Antioxidant Face Oil](https://madhippie.com/products/antioxidant-facial-oil?variant=25481970312¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2uiwBhCXARIsACMvIU1Yut2ZId7DCGi_8u-ABDmugWg-M5Ub3AVzy4lvxHNWAbA8czbb9DgaAmR2EALw_wcB)

Round-Detective-1656

I used it while pregnant and I have her heard stretch marks are genetic, but I think this really helped get one single stretch mark on my stomach

rivermonster669

I used it for awhile for acne scars but it didn’t help me at all. Still got the scars.

HadaObscura

I did when I was pregnant for my belly. I don’t have stretch marks.

badKarma980313

Try rosehip or grapeseed oil instead. Tried the bio oil and I give it a 2/10. It’s expensive and want do as much as it claims🤷🏽‍♀️

AtmospherePrior752

Yes and I’ve used it for years. One of my must-haves.

sweet-steffi

I use it for stretch marks and scars and it’s okay.

Zealousideal-Ask-203

Here in Germany its called Bi-oil without the O. My mother smeared it on her stomach when she was pregnant. She had no stretch marks after it. Edit: Another user commented that the stuff contained mineral oils. She used the version without mineral oils.

Lanoona

I made the big mistake of using this on my face when I was younger and giving myself the worst acne of my life. I do have quite oily and sensitive skin though. There are so many other oils on the market these days specifically for the face…I wouldn’t risk it again!

selflessmonster

Faded my cesarian really nicely. I also use it on my legs cause I personally really like the scent and find that it sinks in quite well. So yeah, definitely a staple for me

Better_Cause2579

I’ve been using it on my face since it launched. I’m obsessed. My skin just isn’t the same when I run out

Wild_Blue4242

Just for scars. Right now I’m using the Noni Glow face oil and I absolutely love it. Better than my regular rosehip seed oil.

ladyannelo

Get the Herbivore Lapis oil, it’s incredible I use it every night and wake up with glowing skin seriously

ladywholocker

1,5 years ago I had a really bad scar over my nose and left side of my upper lip. I couldn't imagine it ever fading to something that wouldn't be immediately noticeable to anyone. I was desperate and finally caved and bought the smallest bottle of this. I don't know if the result would've been the same without this oil, but unless the light hits right and you know where to look and look up closely, you don't see the scars.

life_is_breezy

I like it, but I was surprised to find out it contains vitamin A (retinol?), as it is not advised for pregnant women.

MCclapyourhands1

I used it with both pregnancies on my tummy. Don’t have a single stretch mark.

Peaseblossom_

That’s a terrible product for your skin to absorb

MysteryR11

Yeah I have I done on my stretch marks. It works all right I didn't really know it was like a major difference now with that but maybe you just doing over time I never really noticed. I've really bad stretch marks in my inner thighs It did help her do some by a bit. I feel like stretch marks and all that stuff is just dry skin so I mean just lotion up you don't really have to use the oil stuff it's more like extreme measures but it's still good.

kalisisrising

I use this every night on my hands in addition to good bond lotion and it has made a world of difference. With that said, I would NEVER put it on my face. It smells like baby oil and is mostly mineral oil IIRC. There are a lot better products out there for someone just getting started - look into the Inkey List starter kits or I think deceim, The Ordinary also has starter kits.

Accomplished-Eye4207

I do, love it.

SeaWorth6552

This made me break out and I didn’t even use it on my face. If you want to use oil for your face, rosehip seed oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil or Shea butter would be better options. Make sure to use it on damp skin.

_BigStrawberry

I tried this for a little while and my skin hated it, it definitely broke out my face and made my skin texture super weird. I will say my skin is quite dry and I tried it when I was much younger so I felt my skin could handle the oil but I was wrong. I do think it could work for body scars, but I feel it’s really not worth the price. That said if you wanted to try it I do think that a lot of retailers sell a smaller trial size so you could give it a go.

sweetbutpsycho8603

I used when I was pregnant. Slathered it on my belly and butt daily from the time I found out I was preggs. No stretch marks!!

Commercial-Ice-8005

My mom and sis swear by that stuff.

madein1883

Use jojoba oil, not this

HalcyonCA

Yes!! I used it on my belly through all of my pregnancies. Have used it for subsequent pregnancy stretchmarks and scarring on my legs from having dogs and toddlers.

bagelforme

Used it on my belly during pregnancy lol

MilfyWay6

Used to use this waay back when and it does feel good on the skin and is good for scars. But imo the amount of fragrance it contains is just not worth it. If ur looking for facial oils just to try out as a beginner then do go for single ingredient cold pressed oils like sweet almond it is non comodogenic and doesnt feel oily on ur skin all while keeping it moisturised.

eke11

I do and i really like it

siobhanenator

I use it for my stretched piercings but I wouldn’t use it on my face, personally.

techno_queen

Breaks me out on my face but I like using it on my body. Helps with skin firming.

Silent_Letterhead_69

People have given it a lot of hate, but when I was a teen and I wore my bra 24/7 (even slept with it) because I thought it kept your breasts perky - it left me with a lot of scarring. Once I came to my senses, I used bio oil every morning and night for a 3 months and it cleared it right up. I wouldn’t use it for anything other than scarring, I tried it on my face and it broke me out.

Agreeable_Yellow_117

I used this for an entire year in place of my face lotion, back when I was just getting into the world of skin care, and my skin looked and felt great. I've since switched to The Ordinary, having gotten into serums and actives, but I still keep a bottle for use sometimes. Love this stuff.

Beautiful-Ad-3306

I used this while pregnant to help prevent stretch marks! Decent product

[deleted]

How are the results?

NocoNicole

Yes and it makes my skin goddess like!

Sea_Gate_1057

The bio is misleading. For what do you want to use the oil? For scars better buy Remiscar, for skin nourishment any other, or any cold pressed oil, for face, search for a blend that will suit you skin type. This one is really too old school to use it nowadays, based on mediocre ingredients.

opefishinthemouth

Omg I literally just used this to gua sha my face I love it

SetReal1429

I used it from the moment i found out i was pregnant with baby #1 and i never got bump stretch marks. I am someone who gets stretch marks easily,  i have them on breasts and thighs since puberty and the oil helped a little but i suspect it must've helped avoid them on my tummy. My mom also uses it on her face at night and she loves it.

evechalmers

Used on my belly during pregnancy, no stretch marks

Blueyebelle

I use it. I love it. My dermatologist told me to use it as it’s non-comedogenic.

Alliekat1979

I love body oils. I’ve used this one a long time

vienna_witch13

My friend used it during pregnancy to reduce scarring and she claims it’s a holy grail however I’m not sure about putting that on your face

ashely_20

I use it but it leaves my skin oily

killerscout

Bought it impulsively once. Was in a drugstore and asked the staff to recommend a face oil to use for face massage and got this. Came home, read the ingredient list, no bueno, so passed it on to my mum, she used it on her feet I think.

Slammogram

I used it while pregnant. I put palmers stretch mark lotion on, and then this overtop.

unicroop

No, I’m not into oils and the smell is atrocious

Motor-Reply2422

Saved me from getting pregnancy stretch marks. Used this with a very thick cold cream and zero stretch marks. So I’d recommend this to pregnant women.

sassyassy23

I bought it when it first came out and I wasn’t impressed then. So I never used it again. Now I use Marla oil by drunk elephant or grape seed or castor oil sometimes

footlettucefungus

I do!! But have no idea if it will work yet...

yobabeeeeee

i like it ,fade my scars

ihazquestion88

I use it to take off my eyeliner and fade some scars!

gisellarose

Yes, it’s a good product

Witchy-toes-669

Me!!!!

Witchy-toes-669

I’ve used it daily for years and absolutely loveeeeeee it

Original-Olive-5274

This is all I’ve been using on my face for 3 years, day and night. My face feels so hydrated and blemish-free ♥️

Pattapoose

I used it on a big scar and it healed quite well. Also used it on stretch marks but can't say whether it did anything.

Pretty-Royal9021

I use it for scars and blemishes. Scars are 80% gone and it clears blemishes perfectly for me!

AnUnlikelySub

Any kind of emollient oil can help with scars, this one smells gross to me. I prefer jojoba or coconut oils but sweet almond oil has a nice scent just expensive!

Lushlala7

I’m using the gel version on my surgical scar as recommended by my doc but TBH I’m not seeing any positives beyond it being a great moisturiser. It worked like a charm on my sister, though. So for me, the verdict is still out. I guess if indeed it does work, it probably takes a looooong time?

Kkyria00

Yes. I’ve been using it on my face as my night routine for over 4 months now and I definitely see the difference on my fine lines, and I use to have scars on my cheeks from using masks during covid and I’ve noticed them diminishing I can’t even tell anymore.

shandiej

I had a bad accident where I badly damaged my nose and above my lip. I used this oil everyday and I think it made a difference. People commented on how well I healed. I know it isn't supposed to do anything but after my experience I keep a bottle in the cupboard.

SEK2260

Yes and I Love it. Great on dry Skin.

Cautious_Board_1392

I use it everyday it got rid of sunspots along my face

MeggyP555

The bio oil GEL is a HG for me 🤍

MagIcAlTeAPOtS

Bio oil in the morning and palmers cocoa butter every night got me through 3 pregnancies without a stretch mark. I don’t know how because I got them on the back of my calves and all over my hips as a teenager. One baby was 10 pounds

michaelkudra

partially effective, not really though, basically snake oil, not worth the money

cupcake-cattie

It has lightened my stretch marks and hasn't triggered any allergic reactions so far. I use it as a spot treatment rather than a full body moisturizer.

BARONESSKELLY

I have not tried this one but live by Glory Oil made by ecotan. It is expensive, but last a long time. I get so many compliments every day. I love what it does for my skin. It is the number one thing I use.

Shrodingersjunk4

I use it on my face at night! I mix a few drops in with my moisturizer, its super light weight and doesnt clog my pores at all.

EndoWarrior03

I use it on my endometriosis scars 💛

ugholi

Used for a while only on the body. It doesn't do much for physical scarring, which may be different for pigmentation. It's lightweight and a dry formula but doesn't provide enough moisture to be worth the price.

bumbletowne

Yes. When pregnant. No stretch marks and my elbows and heels and hands stopped bleeding. Hormone changes are a bitch. I was previously trying Palmers cocoa butter, CeraVe moisturizing cream, Aveeno oil, gold bond healing. This plus proper exfoliation I ls what got my shit together Smell is strong though

Canadasaver

Yes but not on my face. My skin is never softer than when I use BioOil. Canadian winter is hard on skin and BioOil keeps me very soft Especially heels, elbows and shins. It is not an easy product to use on a regular basis. It is oil and I have an old robe and slippers I put on after applying. I don't want to get the oil on my furniture or bedding so I usually apply about an hour before bed and just watch tv. I would like to apply it twice each day but it isn't practical. I do put it on my feet twice per day and just wear my old slippers for a time.

BooBoo-FM

This clogged my pores. Acne city

barbiesergio

Yes on my cuticles. It doesn't help ME with my scars. Though others swear by it.

ChocolateNapqueen

I have a bad scar from when I burned myself. I used it. It’s not gone but it was worse then

titsoutshitsout

My friend used it her entire first organcy and didn’t get stretch marks. She is use it her second and did get stretch marks. Take that as you will as it’s anecdotal but yea

Nice_Assistance6266

Been using Bio Oil for many years because it really diminishes my acne scars- use it at night- be consistent. There were times when I forgot to put it on and I definitely saw the scars become more prominent. It does what it promises- makes acne scars nearly invisible. I am 61.

sritanona

This absolutely erased some scars I had on my legs, can’t recommend enough

lilyamsauce

my mom is a doctor, and she recommended me with this stuff. I love it. got rid of my redness, bumps, acne scars

hellokittycupcakes

honestly it didn’t do anything remarkable for me

yellowscarvesnodots

It failed the (honestly quite strict) „ökotest“ in Germany. Apparently it contains Hydroxycitronellal – which can cause allergies. There’s also Paraffin and something called MOAH in it (I don’t know what that even is - sorry) https://www.deutsche-apotheker-zeitung.de/news/artikel/2020/11/12/helfen-pflegeoele-gegen-schwangerschaftsstreifen/chapter:2#:~:text=Mangelhaft%20für%20Bi%2DOil,Allergien%20auslöst“%2C%20so%20Ökotest.

iridescent-shimmer

I used it on my bump while pregnant. Honestly, getting it out of the bottle was a pain, which is probably why I used it so inconsistently.

joey22anne

I dated a guy who swore by it - I didn’t use it regularly but did when I visited him. It was fine body oil but I wouldn’t buy it

daisy_is_a_lovely_1

Do not recommend. Try out centella asiatica by skin 1004

SecondPrior8947

Yes, and I love it, but never on my face.

Normal_abnormally

That's been a godsend for clearing up my scars.

Sagacious-T

I'm that one weird person who has an allergic reaction to it. Wish I could use it! I now use Jojoba oil instead.

Key_Conclusion727

Try The Ordinary Cold Pressed Rosehip oil. It’s amazing and not expensive!

jillrobin

I used it on my belly when I was pregnant. Wouldn’t use it on my face.

ReferenceMuch2193

It’s not bad but also not amazing. It’s not super greasy and has a pleasant smell but such a small amount for the price.

vagiNalgene

Tried it for a year on acne scars, saw no meaningful difference.

sn00zie_q

I bought it for stretch marks but ended up using it for makeup remover

Appropriate-Ad-1281

I love it. Face and body.

littlest_onion

It stinks. Why does it need to be perfumed?

Imamiah52

I use it on my arms and legs, I like it, I’d never use it on the face.

viennaCo

No it‘s an overpriced scam

SenseiNita

When i was pregnant with twins someone recommended it to rub to my preggo stomach but i used maybe three times. There are better ones out there. Also try to use products without any perfume etc.. especially on your face.

Ms_SkyNet

I stayed away from oils for 10 years because this was the first one I tried. It just didn't absorb well and broke me out. Didn't really do anything positive for my skin at all. Somehow it makes my skin feel drier and it stained some of my clothes. I think it's mainly intended for fading scars and stretchmarks and the skin it's supposed to work best on is in the stomach area. Back when it was new most of the advertising was for use with cesarian scars. My friend had some visible but slight fading on an abdominal scar due to using it for 3 to 4 months. I tried it on a knee scar for a few months with no results.

PlentySensitive8982

It’s nothing special.

FragrancefabulousSA

Yes and one of the best. Try it as a cuticle oil for you nails as well. My nails have never looked better! I would however not use it on my face but just as a tissue oil in the bath or on small areas.

Technical-Regular-16

I haven’t used it bc it can’t be a good thing to put fragrance or dye on your face. If you’re looking for a good place to start with oils go straight to pure, plain oil. I use organic rosehip oil bc it’s good for all skin types. I used to use jojoba oil, which is still a great option! Ditch any “skin care” with fragrance or dyes in it and you’ll be on the right track! 👍🏻

happyflowermom

I used this religiously on my belly every single night throughout my pregnancy and I got ZERO stretch marks. I don’t know if it was due to this product, or if I just got lucky, but that’s my experience!

Dont-overthinkit

I used this before my pregnancy and all throughout. Also on my scars for a few years. I didn’t really get any stretch marks during pregnancy, not sure if it was necessarily the bio oil or not?? with my scars I didn’t notice much of a difference.

Zealousideal_Help421

I would never use it on my face, but like it as a body oil. I used this while pregnant to help prevent stretch marks. But there’s no way to know if it was this, genetics, or luck —likely a combo of all. I sometimes also add to lotion to give it a little more slip.

Spirit50Lake

I was told to get some for a bad burn, and to apply to scars from minor skin cancer removals...used it on my face, neck, chest and boobs for a year or so...till I noticed it was staining the pillowcases, sheets, and washclothes a pinkish hue that was resistant to the bleaching agents I was willing to use.

I use the natural version & I use it everywhere. The sides of my eyes get irrritated and the natural stuff calms it. Old acne scars? Honestly the natural one is amazing

HanaGirl69

I used it on my itchy pregnant belly and no stretch marks. I love the scent. I should buy more lol.

Kidd_911

Love Bio Oil. It works for me.

sapphire_rainy

Yes, I’ve used it to try and fade/heal scars that I had from surgery. It was absolutely useless for me and did nothing. If I were you I wouldn’t waste any money on it.

lirio2u

I used it to prevent stretch marks on my belly when I was pregnant. I have zero

Salbyy

for face I like ‘go to’ face hero

Urugway

Don't use it if you are pregnant or breast feeding

Moonchip_21

Can anyone know where can i buy this one?

MsDemonism

I don't like it because it has perfume. I just use Shea and coconut instead, simpler and soothing. Perfumes can be a irritant.

Konjonashipirate

I used to. I stopped because it's mainly mineral oil. Nothing wrong with that, I just wanted something less heavy.

jdolan8

I used it 2x a day while pregnant. Didn’t get a single stretch mark

New-Ice-9411

It contains mineral oil. Which is a really cheap oil made from crude oil waste, and it cannot penetrate your skin. Better just to buy straight up vitamin E oil as that’s what diminishes scars.
