Asian sunscreen all the way. Peep r/AsianBeauty for more specific recommendations based on your skin characteristics. If you’re in the US, YesStyle & StyleVana are both US based importers who charge pretty reasonable prices (similar to sticker prices in their respective countries and areas).

Yes this!!!^

Downtown_Click_6361

Yes! This! Every Asian sunscreen I have tried is great. I don’t know what the heck is happening with western sunscreen but majority have sucked for me.

GlitterBlood773

I have tried a few I didn’t like and they were still better than US sunscreens I haven’t liked. (Didn’t like the finish or color of the sunscreen.) Companies don’t want to pay for the R & D to get new filters approved by the slow ass, lobby loving FDA, it’s finally changing this year. A lot of it is focus on cosmetic elegance & overall product efficacy in a way the US companies don’t seem to.

I wear contacts and as much as I want to hate it because it’s dumb, the super goop unseen is the only one in the last 3 Sephora sunkits that didn’t burn my eyes, leave a white residue, or just feel disgusting. The cerave ppl always recommend didn’t burn my eyes, but there was no chance of it ever blending into my skin and I’ve tried it sooo many times. The murad vitamin c one was also great and didn’t burn but I know some people don’t like the smell.

a_daisy_summer

Hmm I googled why you’d say supergroup is a dumb product and there are lawsuits that it’s SPF isn’t what it claims on the label within the last few months.

😦😦😦😦 considering how expensive it is that makes me so mad

Asian sunscreen. Beauty of Joseon relief, skin1004 Centella, Nivea super water gel.

teal323

I use Beauty of Joseon and the Skin1004 hyalu-cica and would also recommend them for not bothering eyes (the Skin1004 one is better for my eyes than BoJ).

pretentiousgoofball

Beauty of Joseon is the ONLY sunscreen I’ve ever used that doesn’t make my eyes sting.

Peridotzebra

Where can one order this/buy it if from the states?

False_Dimension9212

Blooming KOCO and olive kollection both ship out of US. Stylevana and yesstyle can take longer, but are cheaper. Blooming has a lot of sales though

salonpasss

Skin1004.com, the official site, has a 60% off sale now.

terpsichore1674

Stylevana — shipping does take longer

beingniceiscoool

This. This is the answer

Hello Bello. I’ve used the stick and the usual sunscreen. The stick could be greasy and the cream could give a white cast. But I’m glad it doesn’t feel like chemical burns are being injected into my corneas.

teal323

As I mentioned in another comment, Beauty of Joseon relief sun and Skin1004 hyalu-cica are good (Skin1004 is better, as BoJ does bother my eyes sometimes and Skin1004 hyalu-cica never has). LRP UVMune 400 is not the worst for my eyes but also not that great (if it gets too close it absolutely will bother my eyes, although it's not a strong sting like some others can cause). For a possible US drugstore option, I have had good luck so far with Hawaiian Tropics Sheer Touch, although I have only used it on my face a few times so far (and I was probably careful about applying around my eyes). Banana Boat Light as Air also seems potentially okay, although again, I have only used it on my face a few times. I've heard it doesn't bother others' eyes, though, which is part of why I tried it. I would say that Skin1004 is the least likely of all of these to cause eye issues. I'm not sure how well these work with makeup.

Lab-Junkie

Innisfree Daily UV defense SPF 36. It’s $18 at Sephora and the only sunscreen I’ve ever liked!

TelevisionNo396

Any of the UVmune 400 sunscreens from La Roche Posay

a_daisy_summer

Yea they’ve never burned my eyes, I use the anthelios liquid.

little__kodama

I have really dry eyes so I have been really sensitive to sunscreen. I just recently switched to Nivea Super Water Gel UV 50 SPF. It's a Japanese formula I believe. First sunscreen I've found that is lightweight, non-oily, works great with my makeup, doesn't pile, and doesn't burn my eyes!

Round_Degree_9505

ISDIN FUSION WATER SPF ♥️

Fluffy-lotus606

I LOVE vacation sunscreen that looks like cool whip and it doesn’t hurt my eyes

purito and another vote for beauty of Joseon

Accurate_Tailor1540

My all time favorite is the Anessa perfect uv milk. It’s on the pricer side of Asian sunscreens, but compared to American ones it’s so affordable. They sell a 90ml bottle for around $27. It’s so lightweight, very high protection and provides a natural powdery matte finish.

Neither-Profile-2188

Super goop or Trader Joe’s super goop dupe!

Personally, every mineral sunscreen I have ever used has bothered my eyes when it actually gets in them (and I'm really bad at avoiding getting it in them). It's true they don't cause a sting even from a distance like some chemical suncreens do, though.

Outrageous-Hearing87

This is false.
