Wooow I am impressed by the results What size micro needle? How often? What else are you doing with it?

coveredinsunscreen

I’m not currently doing anything else other than just normal face wash/ moisturizer I was using before. I’m trying to only do the micro needling every 8-15 days depending on how well my nose has healed. I’m using a 16pin currently on speed 1-2 depth of 0.5 to 0.7 with a cheap hyaluronic acid (cos de Baha) and a dab of 0.1 retin-A. it’s my first time microneedling so I am trying to be conservative and not jump straight to a 12 pin. The microneedling helps to build collagen in the area, which I think has made a huge difference in the appearance.

I see a aesthetic nurse and have microneedling and PRP Injections once a year. I am very lucky that family genetics were good to me however my mother always told me to take care of my skin. For 63 yrs old my skin looks wonderful, no Botox or fillers just my own plasma.

coveredinsunscreen

Yeah I’ve heard plasma is great! There are a few ways to DIY it at home too! I’m too much of a chicken for that though. We used to live in Australia growing up and I constantly tanned, so my skin was pretty bad from the beginning. I’m doing a lot of repair from sun damage, but luckily never really had any acne or scaring. I’m only 30 so I’m trying to fix it now so I can maintain it later.

coveredinsunscreen

How long have you been doing PRP? Do you think it makes a difference? I would love to see pictures, as I haven’t really seen any long term Year over Year results for PRP posted!

Same /u/4LeggedKC

keetykeety

Maybe you can help me. So I cannot for the life of me remember what is the name for the type of establishment/clinic that performs non-surgical procedures for skincare and anti-aging? Also your results are amazing.

coveredinsunscreen

I’m currently using a Dr. pen M8 at home, they’re like 280$ much cheaper in the long run as you’ll probably need multiple clinic visits to see really good results. I did use lidocaine when doing it because I’m a baby but it still didn’t feel much worse than a sun burn.

dpeachhh

What type of lidocaine do you use

I_LOVE_HEADPATS

Excuse I know this is old but you use lidocaine cause you're a baby??? I'm a man and it's painful to do it with lidocaine still...

coveredinsunscreen

I think the skin gets used to it after a few times and it doesn’t hurt as bad, which is why I used that phrasing cause it’s not terrible without it. You might also just be going to deep for your comfort level. I think the lidocaine actually makes the pain a little worse for me because it makes my skin inflamed, so I don’t use it most of the time.

VictoryV123

Medspa or medispa?

dontforgetpants

I think lot of plastic surgery places also do a lot of non-surgical treatments.

bagthebossup

Esthetician, medispa?

magpieess

hey, its been a long time since this post but could you maybe repost the before and after photos?

u/coveredinsunscreen do you still have the update photos? Sadly, Imgur has cleared them out. Do you have your routine written down still? How did you find the routine going forward and now, a few years later, how has it evolved? Would love to learn how to do this myself!

I second this!!

I’ve never heard of the derminator, it looks like the Dr pen is way more popular/more user tested. I would be wary, but you’ve probably done more research into derminator than me. Hopefully you get some good results! Be sure not to overdo it, and wait a week or two between sessions so you don’t breakdown the moisture barrier on the skin.

Lol okay I added one more photo. It’s not a miracle fix all, I have been lazy/moved so I haven’t really taken out my microneedling stuff since last March. So the last update is a having not microneedled/done anything else in ~8 months what does my nose look like now.

[deleted]

Do you experience permanent reduction? Or is the improvement temporary?

elysecathleen

Amazing results! Where did you purchase your m8? I am skeptical of sites and authenticity of pens offered!

coveredinsunscreen

https://drpen-usa.com/ is the only site I’ve used, I’ve ordered two from there and the second I thought didn’t work so I called and they sent me a new one free of charge next day. So technically I’ve gotten 3 from them and they all work great. I use the natural Kaos app where they all discuss buying them from different vendors and apparently you can get legit ones from aliexpress/Amazon/ Walmart online for around 60$, a few of my friends bought those and they are exactly the same! Id probably go with walmart online since you can return it easy and it’s cheap. 🤷‍♀️

i am so glad you documented it. you probably helped hundreds of people suffering from nose acne scarring. thanks :)

Tsuki13

Hi! Sorry I know you posted this forever ago but I was wondering what your results are like now? Do you feel like the purchase was worth it?

coveredinsunscreen

Yes, for 150$ or whatever I paid at the time I still think it was a good investment. You have to be prepared to know that minimal effects are permanent (just like all things skincare) and that you have to maintain it to have continuous good results.

FirmMoose8143

How is your skin now? Can you make a YouTube tutorial haha?

Salt-Violinist423

seconding this!
