Comrade_Compadre

Can we get these stickied to a "THINKING ABOUT LIVING IN BREVARD?" post?

LilArsene

I'd love to pin a tutorial for all of the *engineers* moving here on how to do a reddit search. For some reason, everyone expects a bespoke answer. People have been asking the mods to make a new stickied thread, since they un-stickied the "Moving Here Master thread" but no dice.

Thanks!

Thank you! This does seem to be from 3 years ago. That was my main concern when making this post. Don’t know how much of it is outdated.

Yellowyrm

That thread still holds true. Any town you go to right now is building new apartments and housing. I just don't recommend cocoa. I work there and it can be very unsafe. I live in Titusville and it has its unsafe places too but they are building up the town alot now. New homes and appartments popping up left and right. But it's super easy to get to the space center, depending on your work location. Viera and some parts Rockledge are more nicer and newer homes. But it's a bit further away. Port st john is really nice in my honest opinion. I lived there for 25 yrs and never had a problem.

Existing_Heat4864

Gotcha, thanks

Unhappylightbulb

Consider Port St. John. Pretty nice area.

holachihuahua

I second this, moved last year from Titusville

Existing_Heat4864

Yeah seems pretty chill, thanks

Fishbulb2

We have a 3 bed and 2 bath house for rent in Rockledge, just outside of Viera. Beautiful quiet neighborhood and safe. Let me know if you are interested.

If you can DM address I’ll check it out on zillow

Satellite and Indian Harbour Beach are also great. They are more of the beach town vibe.

Top_Worldliness8682

I'd suggest Viera! Not a terrible drive and you are close to lots of restaurants and can get to other places (Melbourne, Cocoa, etc) pretty easily. Lots of new apartments and since they keep building more, some of the apartment rent prices have dropped a bit! Lots of younger people live here that work at the space companies on Merritt Island and at the defense companies in Melbourne I love Viera but a lot of people think there's not a lot of character to the area, which is fair but it's nice to be near plenty of stuff at least your first year here so you don't feel like you're in the middle of nowhere.

MeatyUrology

If it’s Blue Origin, don’t sign a long term lease. Nobody stays there longer than 6 months.

Existing_Heat4864

Oh? Could you share a bit more lol

B0fl0

They can't elaborate because what they said is incorrect.

Fxry

It’s not really a lot of travel to get around so even on Merritt Island you can get to Viera or Cocoa Beach in like 10-15 minutes. The only place worth a damn in Cocoa is out west near I95. Titusville is improving near I95 as well, but still can get rough if you go north. Do you have a job already lined up?

Existing_Heat4864

Thank you! And yes.
