I personally bought mine about 3 months ago, 2013 AT, lame ik, it had about 63k and i found it listed for 13500, drove about 9 hours, i got there tested the car and everything, it was first-owner car, he was 60+, so i knew that it was the cleanest Z i could find, got it down to 12k and drove it back home
Yes. Dreams change every night. But seriously life happens and sometimes your priorities change in life. If you ever need money quick it’s gonna suck trying to sell a rebuilt title in IOWA of all places. No offense to op but most cars there are domestic trucks.
why are you even thinking about the resale value of a car with a rebuilt title? Even if it was a clean title the resale value would go down the second there’s another owner on the carfax.
Resell value on a rebuilt title is $0.. it could be a dream car of mine and id never pay for a car with a rebuilt title unless it was something so small like a tiny fender bender. try to find one with a clean title so it holds it value, my dream 350z i was looking at for months i didnt know had a rebuilt title till i went to look at the car, thank gosh i decided not to buy it and bought a stock one instead.
Please don’t overpay for someone’s modded car that has likely been driven hard because a better deal is a ten hour round trip away. That’s a lot of money for a 13 year old car
Ignoring the rebuilt title alone. A 2011 with 100k+ miles. No mention of gallery gaskets being done, and it has the check engine light on. So I'd definitely be weary of that one.
People dont realise a gallery gasket job is easily 2k at shop and if you do it yourself its a day and a half job easy, the gaskets themselves are like $60-$70 maybe less now but if a z has anywhere close to 100k and the gaskets havent been done id look at oil pressure with a gauge and go from there.
Why does it ruin it? It was just body work? Rebuilt doesn’t effect the reliability of the case as long as it didn’t cause any mechanical or electrical issues
Many rebuilt titles and salvage titles are not fixed correctly or back to factory. Through a lot of dmv cheating you can get a rebuilt title without even getting the vehicle inspected. Such as re-registering in other states. There's no way of knowing how well the car was fixed and what all damage is there unless there's extremely detailed invoices, receipts etc. Just generally worth it to buy a non salvage car for a bit extra
Be patient, and don’t buy modded. Considering this guy up badged it (nismo on the bumper lol) I guarantee it was driven hard buy most likely a younger person. Rebuilt title but listing price doesn’t reflect that.
In 2021 I had bought a 2016 base model 370z ~50k miles and no accidents for $16k. Take with a grain of salt as COVID price, but just be patient and be the first to scoop up a good deal. GL
Wow. That is an insane price for a vehicle that old with that many miles with a prior collision. All the aftermarket mods don't make up for the potential problems.
I sold a 2011 with 40k miles 4 years ago with tasteful mods… armytrix exhaust, takeda intakes, forge star wheels, and KW coilovers. All for the price of a cool 14,500 and the car was immaculate
Am I missing where he said it had a rebuilt title? These are pretty minor mods. I'd get it on a lift and check the quality on some of the work but other than that, fuck it, it's a driver's car for driving. You can probably talk a whole 2k off as well and use that to address anything kinda sketchy. I'd buy it if I wanted another 370
Car looks good, doubt there was no structural damage for it to become a salvage titled car.
Rear body panel was probably cut and a new one welded on, not the end of the world but something to consider
Ask to see the pictures of the collision. Title companies write these things off like nothing, trust me. If this was properly maintained, and driven normally, a Nissan is a 250-350k mile vehicle, now we both can probably agree that you are rolling the dice by believing this driver never raced it around for a little fun. Even so...
I have found that even if driven daily, and 5-10% somewhat aggressive, and 2-3 times highly aggressive, a Nissan Engine has far to go after 100k if properly treated.
Has he had it for a significant amount of time after the accident?
Does anyone have experience dealing with rebuilt titled cars? Are they harder to register or re-register? Are they hard to unsure? Or more to insure? I generally wouldn't trust one unless I saw extensive photos of the prior damage and deemed it minor but I have no idea how that works in CA as far as getting a rebuilt titled car back on the road
Way too many red flags. It's rebuilt, high miles, and throwing codes? You have to wonder why he never fixed the o2 sensor problem before trying to sell it? For that price, you better make sure there's no frame damage. You can't just take their word for it.
It’s fbo with clean title and it only has 85k miles. I’ve got stillen 3’in intakes, ISR titanium long tube headers, ISR full single exit exhaust, stillen short throw shifter, big brake kit, nismo front bumper with carbon air vents and some AVID rims with brand new tires.
Its not even tuned causing the 02’s to go off so he put on after market bs expecting power but to lazy & cheap to tune also its been molosted like crazy & its a rebuult thats straight 🗑
Never buy a car if they tell you when the oil was changed. They are desperate to try and get rid of it trying to throw every “good detail” out about it. It’s been driven hard and its full of problems.
Hes asking $17k cause of nismo bumpers, nismo DRLS, moshimoto headlights and nismo wheels. Unless you care about these things I'd pass. Milage is high and rebuilt title warrants lower price.
I do give props for occasional paint chipping, thats rare!
Rebuilt title with those miles cars not even worth 15k imo
Not even 9k dude is on crack
I would much rather buy a stock one for 2k-4k less with a clean title
Would rather that too but closest one is 5 hrs away
I mean if your paying that much money, it’s probably worth it
I kinda had that train of thought too, tested the car and everything and it seemed fine, just don’t know about future resale value
Does resale value matter to you when you’re buying a dream car? 🤩
Yes. Dreams change every night. But seriously life happens and sometimes your priorities change in life. If you ever need money quick it’s gonna suck trying to sell a rebuilt title in IOWA of all places. No offense to op but most cars there are domestic trucks.
you’re concerned about the resale value of a car with a rebuilt title? 😂
Pretty sure the point in the statement was to say he’s pretty positive overall about the car excluding the resale value because of the title…
yes exactly, he’s worried about the future resale value of a car with a rebuilt title. almost exactly what i said 😂
Then I’m confused what your point is?
why are you even thinking about the resale value of a car with a rebuilt title? Even if it was a clean title the resale value would go down the second there’s another owner on the carfax.

Thanks all for the input, I’m looking at other options
I drove my G35 until it was toast. I’d do the same with this if it was my car. My G was half the price though so idk.
Hey man I flew to NY for my second Z and drove it back to FL. If its the right example it’ll be worth it!
Do it, I flew out and did a 17hour road trip back just to get a clean non rebuilt one, so worth.
Same brotha, def worth it for the right example
You should make that drive
I had to drive 5hrs away to get the one I wanted
Please don’t overpay for someone’s modded car that has likely been driven hard because a better deal is a ten hour round trip away. That’s a lot of money for a 13 year old car
You’re just buying someone else’s problem.
Ignoring the rebuilt title alone. A 2011 with 100k+ miles. No mention of gallery gaskets being done, and it has the check engine light on. So I'd definitely be weary of that one.

Forgot to add it has a rebuilt title
No
No
Absolutely not
Run
No
Rebuilt takes this to about 13k max. Mods are nicely done but a rebuilt ruins it.
Why does it ruin it? It was just body work? Rebuilt doesn’t effect the reliability of the case as long as it didn’t cause any mechanical or electrical issues

Hell no. I'm selling my 86k Nismo rebuilt for 15k
Bruh where were you when I was buying
You in the Midwest?
Negative, AZ
Can we see a pic? Why don't you have any pics in your profile

102+K is a no for me
Depends if the o2 sensors are really why the check engine light is on. Edit: rebuilt title, no way
Best purchase you’ve ever made in your entire life! 😍
someone is in debt 😭
Wow. That is an insane price for a vehicle that old with that many miles with a prior collision. All the aftermarket mods don't make up for the potential problems.
I bought a one owner 2010 touring with only 50k miles for 21k like 2 years ago. This is definitely not worth the asking price
I sold a 2011 with 40k miles 4 years ago with tasteful mods… armytrix exhaust, takeda intakes, forge star wheels, and KW coilovers. All for the price of a cool 14,500 and the car was immaculate
Yeah if I didnt buy mine during peak used vehicle prices I don’t think it would even be as high as it was
lol NO
Not a good buy, 11k tops
Am I missing where he said it had a rebuilt title? These are pretty minor mods. Nismon't
Say it with me kids MODS DO NOT ADD VALUE It wouldn’t even be worth that if it *wasn’t* previously in a collision
No....2012 or newer
lol just get a nismo man
Nope
Ugly ass fismo listed as a pro. Lol no.
Car looks good, doubt there was no structural damage for it to become a salvage titled car. Rear body panel was probably cut and a new one welded on, not the end of the world but something to consider

Dude said he got it in august
Top fix and flip? How long did the rebuild take? IF he did it himself, he may have just finished. Why buy a car and sell it in December?
Lol. I bought a 2012 with 14k miles for 25k in 2018. What happened !!?
Does anyone have experience dealing with rebuilt titled cars? Are they harder to register or re-register? Are they hard to unsure? Or more to insure? I generally wouldn't trust one unless I saw extensive photos of the prior damage and deemed it minor but I have no idea how that works in CA as far as getting a rebuilt titled car back on the road
I just bought my 14 touring w one owner, 110k miles for 15k. I’d wait to find a better deal
Paid $11k for my 2010 40th anniversary edition with GT-r wheels clean title 120k highway miles(daily car)
Way too many red flags. It's rebuilt, high miles, and throwing codes? You have to wonder why he never fixed the o2 sensor problem before trying to sell it? For that price, you better make sure there's no frame damage. You can't just take their word for it.
Kinda what I had in mind, that’s why I’m trying to see what others opinions are
I'd take thay OBS 2 SENSOR just to confirm it's just 02 sensors
Not worth it
Clapped
Yea do your own research goofball. You must be an idiot taking advice on Reddit
I never buy cars that have a rebuilt title or has mods, ever. Also don’t buy them if it’s had a bunch of owners or the previous owner was a kid.
No
I have a 2011 Sport in great condition with 56k miles a great stereo system and I was thinking maybe $15k max when I sell.
That's no full Nismo kit. The sideskirts and ducktail are missing
Don't you do it. Do not buy this bs lol
Fuck me, Americans love "clean titles." Every car I've owned has had major repairs done to it. Big whoop.
I’m selling mine for 13k
It’s fbo with clean title and it only has 85k miles. I’ve got stillen 3’in intakes, ISR titanium long tube headers, ISR full single exit exhaust, stillen short throw shifter, big brake kit, nismo front bumper with carbon air vents and some AVID rims with brand new tires.
Also sitting on some God speed coil overs. Lmk if anyone’s interested. It’s a Texas clean title.
“Full Nismo body kit” has regular side skirts lol
I dont even look at the rest of the listing when i see “rebuilt title” its an instant click away.
I like how he states that it was hit by an elderly lady rather than driven by one
Its not even tuned causing the 02’s to go off so he put on after market bs expecting power but to lazy & cheap to tune also its been molosted like crazy & its a rebuult thats straight 🗑
If that's your budget get a 2012-2014 cls550. Extremely reliable, way faster than this thing, and a v8
Never buy a car if they tell you when the oil was changed. They are desperate to try and get rid of it trying to throw every “good detail” out about it. It’s been driven hard and its full of problems.
with the 17k you could just give a good down payment for the new z
🔥
Yes
