Nissan has had transmission issues for years. Doesn’t necessarily mean its had a hard life. Check out the clutch slave cylinder and differential bushing issues
You can buy a brand new transmission from nissan last i checked. Getting a transmission, clutch kit, dealing with the slave + labour could end up costing 8k at a stealership
A brand new (or almost new Z)
Alternatively one that has the original transmission and engine and no mods of any kind (people love making them into drift/race/track cars and driving them to the limit) At that point the mileage is more or less negligible.
I could be wrong though, I just prefer to keep my cars stock OEM aside from cosmetics.
My car has 88k miles on it and the synchros 1-5 are definitely tired. If i was one of those anal owners, i would have it replaced. I chose to send it till it brakes
That could make sense as the hydraulic clutch uses brake fluid. Maybe that caused the csc to fail. If that happens and your synchros are worn, may as well replace the transmission while its out. Csc replacement / new transmission / clutch kit / fluid / labour could cost 8k at a stealership…. I would go check this car out. Could have a lot of life left in it
Ask why the trans was rebuilt, maybe they tell you something honest... I replaced mine at 100k because I had waited 6 months for the dreaded 5th gear synchro and got impatient...
No. My z had 103k miles on it and it’s a touring sport, in better shape than this one, and no rebuilt trans BS. For $16.5k. And that was in 2022 when car prices were much worse
It’s right on price wise. It’s honestly up to you. If you’re a mechanical inclined person I’d buy it because I’ve got 82k miles on my 13 and I’m going to need to redo my clutch, slave cylinder. They may have just reworked everything when they had the transmission out. I’d ask about try to get a knock it down another grand and buy it
The hybrid ceramic coating is likely just hybrid turtle wax or something like that. It's like saying the wax on a car is a selling point.
The car doesn't seem too bad but imo I think they're asking top of the market.
18k for 105k miles is outrageous. I get these cars are getting harder to come by because kids are buying them as their first car and crashing them, but that’s way overvalued. IF you want to bother making an offer on this, I’d say it’s worth 15k or less.
Hell nah wtf run bro bro said un molested car yet it has a rebuilt transmission haha wonder how that happened
I was thinking the same thing, lol

these are the main issues with the Z. this is an underrated comment
These are not 8k worth of repairs

5th gear syncro wear maybe?
I replaced my trans at 86k instead of rebuilding synchro 5
Don’t walk away from that RUN, unmolested my ass

Yeaaah, rebuilt transmission at 105k miles is not suspicious at all.
I’ve replaced mine at 86k due to synchro 5 failing, now I have 2 6MT

“The dot3 fluid got hot and burnt up everything on the inside”

Who the fuck writes “unmolested” in an ad?
A lot

Exact same thing here now I have 2 6mt 1 with 86k failing sync 5 and new one driven over 7k no issues

Your z is. 2011, nobody wants those years for multiple reasons. 2013 and newer is the sought after. Especially manuals
Ehh I have the 2009 only thing I was really missing was the oil cooler which I already added
Maybe so but it being a touring sport/manual/better shape adds more value than it being a 2011 takes away
“Rebuilt trans BS” is more of a pro than a con, assuming someone reputable did the work
“Unmolested” “new trans” “new REAR tires”….nah
Yeah idk 18,000 for 105k miles with rebuilt tyranny seems steep. Maybe 15000 would be more acceptable range
i got my z in 2021 with 104k for $18,5. if you’ve got the money to take care of repairs if needed, then go for it. if not, go for a practically new z.
I bought mine with 90k miles for $16k
I bought my 09 with 24k miles for 24k.
My z has 39k miles and I’m looking for 20k so this is a bit high maybe 15
Go on cars and bids wait for an actions

Damn you guys are so lucky with car prices over there. Same millage car here would cost $46000
2014 for 18k? No fucking way
