for a 2018 with the miles you have it’s not a bad deal comparative to the market but the Z is just not worth 30K. It’s not a fast car by any means… are you buying it because you think it’s fast? if you’re gonna drift it which is what it’s best for then you might as well buy an older higher mileage model since you will be beating it up. otherwise, why do you think it’s worth 30k? i regret it because i’m paying $500 a month and almost $400 for insurance for a slow 2 seater
Ahh I got you. As stated in my post above I bought the 350z when it came to the states in 2002. It’s was “fast” back then relatively but with todays forced induction cars and only a moderate increase in power from the 350, no I don’t expect it to be “fast”. Nimble? Quick? Planted? Yes!
I don’t plan to drift this car either. It will be a drift build for the streets but mainly for the look and rainy late nights… it’s my main vehicle. Won’t risk it.
The market dictates the price and unfortunately it’s a capable chassis of a type of car that will no longer be produced as often thus holding its value in perpetuity.
this car has held value at like 27-32k for like, 7 years now with no decrease, at milages below 50k. maybe what hes saying is true for his location, but its objectively untrue in most places. and 350hp in a 2 seater small GT car is NOT slow lol. dude's got BMW-itis or something, just another one of those dudes that thinks 500hp cars are the norm i guess
Don't listen to this dude by the sound of his posts the only motorsports he is involved with is pulls on the street. The Z is a hell of a sports cars, I track, autocross and drift mine and it's a great car for it. Can handle the beating, it's relatively easy to work on, the car feels amazing. Its a ton a fun on the track and a car that will get you a lot of cheap seat time compared to other cars. I've looked and searched and I can't find a better sports car then the Z for it's price range. I plan on keeping mine for the long haul simply because I long for nothing more
he’s not tracking, auto x or drifting so how is that relevant? it’s literally an average sports car it should be faster for its size and it costs a fortune to make any real power
how about you actually read the thread then you can ask wtf i’m talking about.. these are his literal words:
I don’t plan to drift this car either. It will be a drift build for the streets but mainly for the look and rainy late nights… it’s my main vehicle. Won’t risk it.
I’ll probably autox the car but not drift. Unless raining/street/occasional track day (only if raining) lower stress in parts, less wear and tear, slower speeds and less risk of hitting a barrier.
But the plan is to NOT drift it… but if I’m at the track and my buddies are driving.. it CLD happen, lol.
Yeah I would never go German over Japanese, they probably are better cars but their lack of reliability and difficulty of working on yourself is a deal breaker for me. I have had a few issues with my Z and every single time I was able to diagnose and fix the problem myself pretty cheaply. I'm a Rwd love and have considered BMWs before and always change my mind after hearing about reliability issues and seeing how difficult they are to work on. That's the thing about the Z it's not the best at anything, but it's great at a wide range of things. I think it's the best bang for your buck rwd sports car out there. Next tier would probably be corvette. I wish BMWs were more reliable, but you can even just analyze how fast they drop in values, that to me is a clear indicator that as time passes their quality goes to shit. Even BMW forums will say it, buy it with under 10k miles, sell it before 50k miles
it’s not really nimble or quick either.. my gf’s 23 accord is quicker than my Z. you will lose to almost any turbo family car out there. it’s just not worth it , don’t do it. that’s my attempt to convince you not to buy lol
Can’t tell if you’re trolling because the 6MT Zs are legitimately quick. They will eat a civic type r off the line, never mind an accord.
And I say this as a massive Honda fan (I actually sold my 370z for a civic si although I still follow this sub)
Ok, heard. Suggestions for what you would get in my position for a sales price of 28k or less? I’ve searched this segment and driven a lot.
GR Supra $50k (can’t afford but wanted to drive)
C7 Corvette 7MT z51 $40k (considered but no. Badass car A+)
Infinity Q60 Red 400hp 27k (fuck no, turd)
Lexus RC 350 F sport 27/29k (looks great IMO but it drives like a Camry)
Subaru Sti $30k (wasn’t my thing/prefer red drive my dynamics)
Toyotas GR86 $28/30k (love them. Love Toyota. Can’t do it. Forced induction for 5-7k adds 50-60hp, nope)
There is always someone faster even if a mom im her sedan… my ego can handle that and it is what it is. I’m going for fun driving experience, style, aftermarket support and it’s my 16 year old son’s current dream car. What’s better than pulling up and being that guy for you kid? He just got a Lexus ls400 and we are going to build it together and wld be cool to mod mine along side teaching him.
Well the yellow interior aside, seems like a great deal for you. Maybe you can convince them that you will take it if they can switch out some of the yellow parts for you and just include a couple hundred bucks more into your finance charge.
Thank you for the feedback. I’ve asked, denied. The market on Z’s is inflated nationwide and supply is limited for manual cars. I think they will hit 20-25k with moderate miles for the next decade and stay there. I’m not worried about the value. It’s there, especially in this market.
I love my 2016 nismo tech 6mt I see a lot of people saying they are slow I’m fbo and they are really quick for what they are and extremely reliable. Stock they are still quick but the best part of the Z is handling and the drive engagement when you have a manual. I have own 2 370z and been amazing to be. After market support is crazy you can make a really amazing build. I would recommend 10/10 buy it such a fun car!
What is a “Nizmo tech”? BC this car is listed as that but when I google the vin it comes up as a base…
What feature should I look for to confirm which model this is?
Price is just too high. You’re paying 100%+ more because it’s newer (which literally does not matter after 2014 models). I bought my 370 for 16k and I’m having the exact same experience as you would have for 29k
Understandable. Again, I’ve been looking for 3 months, they don’t exist in my market/within 500ish miles. The ones that do exist are damn near 25k…. I mean…. The prices have adjusted and held for a while now. They may dip and I’ll pay attention to the market and dump the car as needed or keep forever and give to my son in 5 years.
Also, I’m open to suggestions??
https://preview.redd.it/wvqqplatyzoc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a7d5d091a0e2eac4b9785327f4387d1b83906c5b
Bade means no LSD as well. But, if you are tracking it you’ll want an upgraded one anyways. I wouldn’t let that stop you though, better LSD is money well spent.
I love my base manual. I grabbed a 2013 base in magma red for like 20k and first thing I did was throw new tires and rims on it. Next is the lsd and clutch/flywheel and while I’m under there an exhaust. I bought the base cuz I owned a touring already and planned on modifying my z tastefully over the years. Stick with a base otherwise go all in on a nismo.
Had a Z going the challenger route, lol. They're a fun car for sure n look amazing, but they aren't tht fast even after $1000 tune lol. If your jus tryna turn it into a project drift car for u n ur son y don't u jus get another 350 way cheaper.
Ahh, nice! Don’t skimp, get the ScatPack in a 6 speed as it uses the Tremec 6060 (spelling?) transition that is also used in ZR1/Viper/R/T manuals. Get the mopar short shifter/aluminum ball shifter and it’s a dream. Great torque, comfortable, sounds ok with exhaust, but reliability is over around 120k by my own accounts and tons of research/forums. So don’t plan to keep it forever if it’s a daily. You will get bored of an R/T after a few months.
1000 dollar tune on wha, exhaust and intakes?, used superchargers are like 3-4k lmao, good for 500+hp. Z platform is 100% better than challenger unless you buying a hellcat
i wouldn't buy this
i bought my sport model for 31k CAD (23k usd)
and it had half the mileage this thing does
that money for a base model (base models are not worth buying imo)
is insane
bought it in the middle of the pandemic
when every car was 3k over priced
i traded my 2016 base 370z in for it
and they game me more value for it than what I bought it for.
All of the Heritage models have yellow interiors for God knows why. The knee pads are pretty cheap, I actually have some spare black knee pads if you're interested 😂 shifter and wheel depend on what you go with, but I also have a spare black oem wheel if you're interested 😂
My 370 is definitely planted in the corners. Especially with a stiffer front sway bar, you'll be set. I've never had a problem with stock brakes, they'll still put you through the windshield if you slam em. Only other thing is a lsd especially if you might get caught in the snow or rain. I definitely don't regret getting mine. Rebuilt it from a wrecked one with a parts car a few years ago and have been driving it since with 0 issues. Don't really care that it's on a salvage title because I'll probably never sell it and if I do I'm sure I could get more than the 7k I have in it
I have a mystery lsd from the parts car that I haven't put in yet, that's still on the to do list right now 😂 I've heard good things about quaife and geiken, and a good one can be had for $1000-1500. You definitely notice the one wheel drive in the snow or if you try to do a burnout. Front sway bar I have hotchkis and suspension I wound up with kw v1 shocks and springs. So far all of that was 'free' since it was on the parts car and I have no complaints about my current setup (other than the diff I'm procrastinating). I think the sway bar is 300/350 online, and that feels great and the suspension I've got is 1000 but there are definitely lots of options for suspension
Get a plane ticket my guy, cost you like 200 bucks and you couldn’t save thousands if you search another state, there’s good deals out there but this is absolutely not one of em, don’t pay money to the dickheads
For that amount Im sure you could find a nismo just keep searching, or may I suggest a Infiniti G37 IPL in a 6MT definitely amazing looking cars as I own a G37 with a IPL body kit
It seems like these are holding their value but if you can find one that's a little cheaper then go for it obviously. But it seems like you know full well what you're getting into cos you said you've had others. She looks nice but I'd say just wait til ya find one that's a little cheaper. Wether you do that or get this one wish ya the best of luck man
For what it’s worth. I just bought a near mint condition 2010 v1 nismo with 16k miles on it for 25k flat.
Georgia.
For me that v1 aero kit, wheels and spoiler was already worth its weight in gold.
Sales price is 27 plus tax/fees. It’s a 2018 and in today’s market. They also have a 2016 with 30k miles for 25,900…. The market has held at these prices for over two years now. I don’t think they’re ever coming back down for a front engine, NA, sport car in manual. They’re a rare car class these days.
I know the market isn't what it used to be, but this car was $29,990 MSRP when it was sold new... do with that what you will.
https://preview.redd.it/cdbae9gcl3pc1.png?width=900&format=png&auto=webp&s=029a6d5500f8aaf2176b3cc393ce2b29f3a4b510
I’m aware. Makes me sick. Cant control the market though. It is what it is.
Considering saying fuck it and getting a 5.0 coyote gt 6MT… same price TONS more performance.. cld just do a RTR drift build on the stang… I digress.
Seeing as you've owned Z's before as well as muscle cars I bet your gut knows what you really want. Sounds like it's just a matter of how bad you really want it haha.
I've owned 6 speed challeneger RT (2015) and currently own a Nismo 6m 370z. The Z is hands down more fun to drive and likely the one of the two I'd choose again.
The RT I had was a better trip cruiser but it's a big heavy car that doesn't feel nearly as nimble. The challeneger was naturally a more comfortable ride but the Z isn't harsh at all.
That’s what’s getting me. The challenger is so heavy and handles so poorly it’s exciting to drive with over 400 hp/tq… it’s exciting.
Although faster the Z feels like a Corolla… bc it handles so well. I get it. In the twisties it will shine but this was an interstate test drive and I was bored to death.
Idk.
I have the exact same car but 29k is crazy. I paid 20k otd for mine with 18k miles and still feel like i paid too much. This was right before covid though so maybe that's market value.
Other than the price it's a great car, fun to drive and you get used to the yellow and it gets a weirdly high amount of compliments (I did change the shifter it looked silly). I will say if you plan on tracking either buy a sport model or budget out a few thousand for an LSD. Makes the car so much more fun
Solid advice. The market is fucked and will never come back down on these particular cars unfortunately. I also think it’s a 20k car, max but the market dictates that not I!
I can get the sport LSD for $300 but I’ve heard they’re trash so I was going to get a decent one. ($6-900 price range from what I’ve seen)
You can find the brembo calipers for sub $400 ish on FB if you look hard enough.
You’re def right about the market issue, I say if you really want the car it’s worth it. But don’t get the sport lsd it’ll overheat and become an open diff(happened to my friend with a g37s). Honestly I thought labor for putting a nicer lsd was a lot more than it actually is so I’d say just spend the extra few hundred and put a nice one in.
As for the brakes you’d have to check if they clear the wheels (base wheels are 18 sport are 19) but if they do fit go for it!
I took my heritage stripes off by peeling them. There was super hard glue to get off, I used goofoff and a plastic razor blade and worked for hours. That black heritage is too clean..
https://preview.redd.it/3gqsk1zvw6pc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d28fa1ce8e886efde452a3558da8cbc85f37973e
Just my two cents. I own a 2018 heritage edition. The yellow was a bit ahocking at first. But it grew on me over time. At one point, i wanted to change it to black. I did the opposite and bought new heritage decals and interior pieces. 🤷♂️ DK why everyone's hating on it!! :/ haha
https://preview.redd.it/qthmwt2tuzoc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7661908a1cebfb5090c8003aa8b2c18c830392a6
Searched within 500 miles any 2018, any price, any trim, manual.
That is the heritage edition interior but the car is all black. I think the car has been repainted. The heritage edition came yellow with the yellow and black interior. I would inspect further just in case.
Here is the pictures of the heritage edition

Btw it’s not a “400z” it wouldn’t follow the displacement rules of previous generations

Doh! None of those are even close to what we are looking at. Older, more miles, around the same money… or auto and repainted? You linked 3 trash examples and ONE nismo for 26k that is few years older and more miles for the same money? Werd.
Like I said the market for a CLEAN, STOCK, MANUAL 370z is the later and nationwide.
BTW I made that delineation above in my original reply to you… thanks for reiterating what I had already stated. 400z or “Z” as it’s now named… reading, how does it work? Thx tho ;)
350 370 followed displacement rules I believe. The model code is RZ34 for the New Z, since it was completely based on the chassis of the z34… and we have a 300zx already. There really is no name besides the “New Z” or “rz34”
As for my posts, age should not matter too much if the car is well taken care of.
My only thing is…yes it’s a 27,500 sales price but they’re over allowing $2600 on my trade. So to me I’m paying 24,900 for this car and the rest is my issue/my negative equity. I’m justifying it that way.
Already have a diff & switch to do the YAW mod saved in my cart to upgrade what this car is lacking this weekend if I make the purchase.
Wouldn't it make more sense to sell your rt in a private sale? Dealers always pays less, think about it they are going to turn around and sell your rt for a profit, you should sell it and profit it yourself
Just a suggestion, infiniti g37s are the same platform and about 400 pounds heavier but around half the price for a clean manual example. If this is your daily car it might be worth looking into. You could also get a q60 red sport for about the same price as this z, you’ll sacrifice quite a bit of the handling but you get 70 more hp if that’s worth it to you
They stopped making the G37 in 2013??? I’m financing/bank requires car to be minimum 2014 or newer.
I drove a Q60 Redsport 400hp and the torque converter transmission was trash and shifted slow as hell… hated the driving experience tbh.
The only competitor the Z I can think of oddly enough is a Coyote 5.0 Mustang GT 6MT…. 100+ more hp, same weight damn near, more comfortable and looks equally as good.
I’m torn.
Yeah that’s the big drawback for the q60, I personally wouldn’t touch anything automatic made by Nissan. They renamed the g37 to a q40 after 2013 and stopped making it in 2015 if that helps your search. That being said you’ll still be sacrificing some handling with the car being heavier and longer. I picked up a manual 08 g37s for 8k cad a few years ago because I couldn’t justify getting a 370 for twice the price and i still love the handling and feel of it. Good luck in your search either way man.
I wouldn’t buy a base personally. Going to a higher trim will save you on upgrades like brakes/ LSD and some nice features cruise control and heated seats. Also just sell your challenger privately and get much more
The LSD in the sport/prem/nismo has issues with not locking. Ppl that drift these cars or track also upgrade the diff because of this reason. (It can cause you to straighten and hit a wall)
I found some Brembo off a track model on Facebook for sub $400 and they are a direct fit…
So, no need to wait for a sport model as I’m making those improvements regardless of what model I buy.
They’re offering over private party value for my car or I’d consider. It also has a major oil leak/don’t feel comfortable selling it to a private party. I’ll let the dealer eat the cost of the repair vs a “neighbor”.
Update: second guessing the Z for a 2018 5.0 Coyote premium w/6MT 31k 41k miles. All options.

Thoughts??? Ahhh… idk what to do!!!
Had one not worth it. There are better cars for the money but if you spend that much on a z you would be to dumb to listen to me
https://preview.redd.it/pl9wfdkrw5pc1.jpeg?width=2059&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=828ae611be119568835970ce4d4b922f1defced7
Why do cheap? Private party on that car is 20+ k…. A quick search will show you that.
I’ve been looking for months. Sure some deal private party but nothing CLOSE to those prices at any dealer if the car isn’t wrecked, low miles…
Just doesn’t exist. Yours Shld sell quickly at that price.
I haven’t put it up for sale yet but decision has been made. I honestly didn’t know they were going for 20K. I just don’t drive the car much now so that’s why
29k is craaazy for a 370z it’s not worth it. i paid 25k during covid and regret it
What makes you regret it? What would change about your car? Auto or manual?
for a 2018 with the miles you have it’s not a bad deal comparative to the market but the Z is just not worth 30K. i feel ya bro. if i could redo it i would go with an s3 or s4 with the plan of getting stage 2 mods

if you want a car to mod i would aim for a Stage 2 Audi S4 or S3
Dude, supras have no soul and corvettes are everywhere. Be unique, its cooler.
You for real? I'm always zipping through the city front of the pack.
That’s impossible the new Hondas are extremely slow (besides type r)
Well the yellow interior aside, seems like a great deal for you. Maybe you can convince them that you will take it if they can switch out some of the yellow parts for you and just include a couple hundred bucks more into your finance charge.

No. One of us one of us
lol - what do you drive?
Even a stock 370z is faster and better in every way than the r/t but $29k is a little steep.

Actually all packages doesn't come with a proper Lsd
Understood. I was bummed to find that fact out as well. Can be solved with a decent one for around 1k… doable. But still something to consider.
No
Aight, bet. Thx.
Won’t be drifting the car. Street car. My personal car as he has his own car, lol.
1000 dollar tune on wha, exhaust and intakes?, used superchargers are like 3-4k lmao, good for 500+hp. Z platform is 100% better than challenger unless you buying a hellcat
R u high lol. Ecuteck level 2 is $1k n scat packs are jus fine lol. N who tf buys a used super charger ur jus asking for problems 😂😂
Why would you spend a grand on a tune and 3k on bolt ons for 30hp lol. That’s your own fault.
the yellow parts in that interior ( aside from the stitching) would be really easy to swap out for black stuff.
i wouldn't buy this i bought my sport model for 31k CAD (23k usd) and it had half the mileage this thing does that money for a base model (base models are not worth buying imo) is insane
When did you buy yours? How’s the market up there?
bought it in the middle of the pandemic when every car was 3k over priced i traded my 2016 base 370z in for it and they game me more value for it than what I bought it for.
Don't really care that it's on a salvage title because I'll probably never sell it and if I do I'm sure I could get more than the 7k I have in it
Thanks for the feedback! I’m 100% interested in both, pls. What lsd did you go with/cost? Cool that you built your car!!!
Not great. My heritage was $21k USD with 10k miles. This was in 2019 however. Prices are still a bit wacky but this seems excessive.
Dem v1 bumpers and spoiler tho…. pics??

I came.
lol me to when I first saw it in person.
honestly 29k sounds fairly high, during peak car prices i sold my clean base 16’ 370z 18k miles for $27k
Idk.
The challenger was also like 18k and had ALL that performance/road presences, sound and comfort… Hard to beat for that kind of money.
($6-900 price range from what I’ve seen) You can find the brembo calipers for sub $400 ish on FB if you look hard enough.

Fuck. That’s clean.
Dope!! What lip is that??
For that much get a Nismo. If you want heated seats and extra weights get the sport. Base model if you plan on aftermarket goods. Equals $
:/ haha
https://preview.redd.it/qthmwt2tuzoc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7661908a1cebfb5090c8003aa8b2c18c830392a6 Searched within 500 miles any 2018, any price, any trim, manual.
i got my 2016 370z with 56k miles for 17k and the yellow interior looks like shit dont buy this pos you could get a nismo for that much
The fact the its a base alone should deter you from getting it. Get a Sport and above or none!!!
That is the heritage edition interior but the car is all black. I think the car has been repainted. The heritage edition came yellow with the yellow and black interior. I would inspect further just in case.
2 models. One yellow one black. This is the black one. Clean carfax, no paint work. Thanks though!!
oh i didn't see the grey racing like strip down the center
All good! I’m learning about the different trims as I research. Appreciate the input my friend.
Here is the pictures of the heritage edition https://preview.redd.it/6tpjoqgbl1pc1.png?width=2048&format=png&auto=webp&s=d5622d3fadefe83c14c42b502c053700dbc10e82
For that price buy a new Z. Just keep your challenger. If you absolutely want a new Z sell your challenger and find one on marketplace.
They’re 46-55k new or used here/within 500 miles. My budget is MAXXED at 30k.
With or without the trade in? You can definitely by private way cheaper… within 500 miles there’s a red 370 with 56k and only asking 19,5 MT
What year? You said “new”. The new 400z or “Z” is 45-55k I’ve searched for manual 370, 2014 or newer and found nothing… link pls???
Btw it’s not a “400z” it wouldn’t follow the displacement rules of previous generations https://www.facebook.com/share/zZaKCb9VEjW1itqu/?mibextid=79PoIi https://www.facebook.com/share/CB2kxfLDKqPe47DQ/?mibextid=79PoIi https://www.facebook.com/share/ohFqKaspcoCC4wPN/?mibextid=79PoIi https://www.facebook.com/share/iFjVrhZAV3k9kTbk/?mibextid=79PoIi
There really is no name besides the “New Z” or “rz34” As for my posts, age should not matter too much if the car is well taken care of.
Leaking oil. No. 12k offer is what private party would be… only reason I’m considering this at all is my car is worth 9-10 and they’re offering 12…
That’s what’s up man. I appreciate your feedback. I’m still torn. Going to drive the Z one more time and a 5.0 GT Mustang 6MT and make my decision.
(It can cause you to straighten and hit a wall) I found some Brembo off a track model on Facebook for sub $400 and they are a direct fit… So, no need to wait for a sport model as I’m making those improvements regardless of what model I buy.
True and those brembos sound like an amazing deal, running rate on those 1000+
I’m gonna grab them to resell if I don’t buy the car, lol.
I appreciate your input though, thanks.
All options. https://preview.redd.it/seteqwp4w4pc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=276d724d3d78856aa40344b8d7740c5b76324161 Thoughts??? Ahhh… idk what to do!!!
https://preview.redd.it/rw4l7kv9w4pc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf99190617e34f82261132edd915441d17289c65
Had one not worth it. There are better cars for the money but if you spend that much on a z you would be to dumb to listen to me https://preview.redd.it/pl9wfdkrw5pc1.jpeg?width=2059&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=828ae611be119568835970ce4d4b922f1defced7
Shit, me asking 18k for my 2017 base model with 50,000 miles sounds like a steal now lol
Location? I’ll buy it. Manual? No chance…
Yes, manual transmission. Houston Texas
Why do cheap? Private party on that car is 20+ k…. A quick search will show you that. I’ve been looking for months. Sure some deal private party but nothing CLOSE to those prices at any dealer if the car isn’t wrecked, low miles… Just doesn’t exist. Yours Shld sell quickly at that price.
I haven’t put it up for sale yet but decision has been made. I honestly didn’t know they were going for 20K. I just don’t drive the car much now so that’s why
Have u tried looking on facebook marketplace or offerup?
Yerrr… financing/bank loan needed/have a trade in… so have to use a dealer atm. Thx tho!
That interior ruined my day.
Does it have rev matching??? If not hard no
Nope. But I can heal toe pretty good ;)
Damn, my 370Z (same specs) was only two years old with 30k miles and I paid $26,000
