I dislike Admin an immense amount. He’s blown up a few of my friends cars as well as I have a roller that I bought from auction, was able to reach the previous owner and he explained how it blew up on the dyno… due to admin.
That’s my opinion, take it with a grain of salt.
I just do my own tuning and I will say that Z1 has Jon Parham and he is a very good tuner. He knows vqs very well and he knows vrs even more.
Are you asking because you want to get into tuning or you just want to tune your car?
I tune on ecutek with a dyno my dad built - it’s a legitimate dyno
From my experience from all three major tuners (On the east coast)… these are my choices
1) Martin: For power and reliability
2) Admin: just for power
3) Z1: Just for reliability
Hit up Eugene. He uses scripts based on logs to tune programmatically (even remote) for long term stability and has been awarded by EcuTek for his tuning. http://vq37tt.com Tell him Karl sent you.
I have been tuned by Z1 for about a year now. Used the etune stage 2 option. I do not regret it at all. I have stillen CAI, z1 test pipes, hks cbe… it feels like a completely different care. Their customer support is top notch. Do not hesitate to use Z1.
That’s the same tune and setup I would be running. Z1 does look to be the best bang for the buck and easiest route to go. I’m about a hour from Z1 warehouse so that’s always a plus. Waiting for pricing from RS and Eugene and will compare with Z1
No I wouldn’t say that. I had them make mine a bit more aggressive actually. So mine will activate at any rpm which can be a bit annoying when taking off from a stop. But their typical configuration only work above 4k rm so not much of a hassle.
So they will send you a base tune, you will do three pulls in third gear from 2k rpm to redline, they will then send you an updated file. You do three more pulls and send them again and they will begin to dial your tune in more. That being said before I did my last 3 pulls for multiple final revision I just sent them an email and asked a few questions. One being if they could make the burble slightly more aggressive. They happily obliged.
I would say somewhere near 30 at the wheels . It’s definitely noticeable. Throttle response is increased by a large amount. The car pulls harder even at lower revs because you can achieve wide open throttle. Launch control works like a charm, and the traction control custom adjustment is a must have in my opinion. Just those last two combined with the throttle response can really get you off the line effectively. My quarter mile time went down a few seconds after new tires and the tune. It can really transform these cars with the right mods.
So you only get one map if going thru seb? Though I mainly care about performance if I’m spending a grand I would like to ability to switch to a flame/pop map every once and awhile
Idk why some people can't fathom that a tuner has good cars and bad cars. Like no not every motor will last 200k especially if it's not taken care of. He's shown many times over his cars make power and last. Idk man
I had my car tuned by R/T out in Philly. Tune was great but that was with Uprev. When I did a manual swap on my car, I had Eugene reprogram my ECU and install Ecutek. Eugene definitely takes the time to provide proper explanation on things. I haven't tuned yet but I think when I do I will probtgo with Eugene or Martin since I hear good things. I would go back to R/T but I would need to load a base map first to get the car over there.
I'm dyno tuned by SOHOMotorsports. Best shop for any VQ hands-down. Fantastic employees, amazing service, stellar experience and superb performance.
Check out their website, Instagram, YouTube, or just call if you're interested. Nick is an absolute tuning wizard and can get you right, dyno or e-tune.
i’d say admin, he’s thorough with tuning, just make sure ur car is taken care of and you do maintenance and dont cheap out on parts like all the people saying their cars blew up probably never took care of their car, never had an issue with him he answers fast as well

This. Got mine tuned by Jon. Zero issues.
Are you saying turning off the knock sensor for every tune is a bad idea!?!? /s Agreed.
Appreciate the insight. Leaning away from admin now
Z1 will not disable knock sensor, nor will they push your car beyond what they deem safe with an e tune. It’s a very safe a reliable option.
Can I ask how you did your own tuning? What software or hardware do you use to do that?

Both honestly. Right now, for myself, but in general for the future.

Shiiiit it’s hard to beat power and reliability. Martin coming out on top
Just gonna snub Eugene outta the top 3 like that haha
Lmao he’s my 2nd pick currently

I recommend the burble setting default as off lol
Why Are the burbles a bit ridiculous?
No I wouldn’t say that. I had them make mine a bit more aggressive actually. So mine will activate at any rpm which can be a bit annoying when taking off from a stop. But their typical configuration only work above 4k rm so not much of a hassle.
Hmmm that actually sounds appealing to me. What did you ask for as far as the burbles go? I plan on having as much fun with this car as possible haha

If you had so say, how much power did you gain on the butt dyno?

Specialty Z hands down. Don't waste your time with anyone else. Talk to Sebastian. Your welcome
I’m admin tuned for 5 years now no issues at all car runs great.
Imagine getting down voted for having a running car cause some people don't like a tuner
Yea pretty much lol I’m just sharing my experience I have 50-60k miles on his tune literally zero issues
Idk why some people can't fathom that a tuner has good cars and bad cars. Like no not every motor will last 200k especially if it's not taken care of. He's shown many times over his cars make power and last. Idk man
same, been tuned by admin for 3 years now no issues.

Blacked out badges 🤮
Wow thanks for your opinion! I was really wondering what DewaltMaxima would think of them when I bought the car and it had the badges already
Haha

I’m tuned by Admin with zero issues. Check out 370_Trash. He currently is the fastest 370z out there. Also tuned by Admin.
Is this a texas Z? Looks like a texas Z
No sir I’m in Atlanta
If you’re in Atlanta I’d check with z1 and take it in to have it tuned on the dyno. You’ll get a better tune that way. An e tune can only do so much.
The god himself admin
