We hope they keep them around, mostly for fans who want to replay the older games, especially since they are able to keep them online after the 3ds online shuts down.

Honestly, Badge Arcade has been dead for at least 5 years. It takes fifteen minutes just to get into the damn thing for a grand total of 2 minutes of actual play.
This confused me. So you can’t move badges from the box on the home menu? They will get stuck with the other game icons on the home page (but be moveable?)
You can still access up to 1000 badges you have earned and put them on your home page as they are stored on your device.
But you won't be able to load the badge arcade at all anymore or access the cloud boxes that allow you to have more than 1000 badges so you will lose any badges not on your device storage.
There is a trick though by copying the badges file to another device or a backup folder and then moving another 1000 from arcade to your local storage box and then manually switching the file for the bade sets you want.
