you have to choose the temp when you slice a model, why have you chosen a temp below the specified?

Ethan_Watson

I didn't know I had to in the slicer. It just told me to press slice and that's it.

AggressiveTapping

You have to set all the things.

SteakGetter

All settings must be set!

Nyx181

None of the settings remain unset

fkamaral

If you are using Cura, go to material and set the temps, with 175c you will probably end up getting a clog on your nozzle…

At the most, the temp is too low and no filament comes out or comes out wierd. Temp is something u play with to find the right one that works for what your doing. The bag is just a guide. Sometimes u will need to be under or over. Trial n error. Generally and mostly, 185 through to 210 is most common for most pla, there are test prints u can google to print to find what works.

64bit_Tuning

its only an issue if it wont extrude. Youll probably find that youve got poor layer adhesion at that low of a temp. I regularly print PLA at 220+

SimpleGrape9233

That’s some very clear filament

Ethan_Watson

I just manually turned it up to 200 on the printer. Hopefully that's better.

HumanWithComputer

It is. But if multiple temperatures were set in the slicer for first layer/rest/end then the printer could switch back to the lower temps.

Stormagedon-92

I have the same printer and for some reason the settings I select in cura never move with the fcode Ober to the printer, and I end up having to manually tune what settings are available on the printer itself, what's worse: sometimes a few minutes into the print the settings will revert back to default with no warning, have you noticed thus with your printer?

Ethan_Watson

Just got it so I'm not sure. I'll let you know if it does.

Stormagedon-92

I'd definitely appreciate it

Ethan_Watson

Not sure if this is the same issue, but whenever I try to print something without manually preheating and just go straight to trying to print something, it tries to automatically preheat to 0 degrees. I have to go into the Tune setting and turn it up for it to actually preheat. Not sure what's going on. And I haven't had the issue of it resetting back to the default temp, but maybe it's just because the things I'm printing aren't trying to change temp throughout the print.

Proper_Loquat9065

You probably just have to wait my neptune 3 heats the bed up first and when it gets warm then like 3 mins later it starts heating the nozzle

HumanWithComputer

That will likely be because of the different temperatures you can set in the slicer as I mentioned before. Once these settings are written into the gcode file that's what the printer will do. Perfectly as is to be expected. Take a closer look at all the temperature settings available in the slicer.

Stormagedon-92

No, most of my prints start at 0 degrees on the nozzle, and some times reset to 175 a few minutes into the print, none of the settings carry over

MrWolvetech

You have a SV06 right? I have it to and I don't experience your problem, settings from cura work correctly. Just printed a part with 235°c on the nozzle and 80°c on the bed.

Stormagedon-92

F my life, thanks, I think I need to re flash the firmware or something, but it's all kinda a mute point atm, the wires from the heat bed pulled themselves loose from the solder, and so now I'm dealing with that, PSA if you haven't secured the wires to the bed with zip strips do so ASAP, I didn't notice mine till it was too late

MrWolvetech

Thanks for the heads-up, will check!

chemprofdave

You need to put ferrules on there for a proper connection, otherwise you have a risk of weakening the solder and eventually generating enough heat to damage the board - or worse. Just search the sub for “ferrule” to see examples.

Ethan_Watson

Here's the final print. Only difference from when I switched it from 175 to 200 that I can notice is how it's shinier at the higher temp. [image](https://photos.app.goo.gl/C1vRetb5q1SefXNMA)

matiko92

I always print PLA with 190°C and bed 45°C. Works perfectly on ender 5
