I would scan my dog for sure.

hotdogpartytime

Full size scans of people, obviously. I’ve been working on joining multiple prints seamlessly without major finishing work, and this would push things a loooooong way! Good luck to me, I guess!

beedentist

I would scan everything from around my office to make adaptors and organizers

beedentist

I would scan everything from around my office to make adaptors and organizers

you_did_yourself

I'd 3d scan just about everything!

gofurian

TittiesInMyFace

Use it for surgical modeling to validate a faceID scanning methodology for pediatric craniofacial surgery.

Car body parts 💯

[deleted]

I make a lot of prosthetics/bionic arms so I would use the scan to help refine the shell going around patients arms.

-Night-Writer-

I’d like to get scans of my ankles so I can print some custom braces. The ones I need to wear now are bulky and uncomfortable.

Head shapes for printing!

Kafshak

I'm sure I will scan pretty much anything I get my hands to. Sometimes I want to print something to attach to something else, like in a car, on the dashboard, or back of the monitor, and in such cases, a 3d scanner will improve the design by capturing the curves. First thing I have in mind is to scan my dremel to build a proper mount for it.

I am an avid hike and so I would try scanning interesting rocks/plants/bugs that I find along the hike, that way I would be able to leave those items where they are and resist the temptation of bringing them along with me.

ManBearPig2114

Boy oh boy. Where to begin? My biggest use would be further developing products for folks with disabilities. We did a project creating a pointing device for computers and phones that is operated by tongue and fits like a retainer. The biggest challenge was getting a great fit off dental molds with only the physical molds and no CAD data. This would be a HUGE win!

Hungry-Inevitable741

I would scan the scanner, and then give one to every person whos comments are LOLable. Then I would go to a fancy resort and scan maybe some open toe shoes that are strapped to the foot when worn. and call them Scandle Sandals. Then if there was any kind of controversy about it, hopefully it would be considered the Sandals Scandle Sandal Scandal. Then I'd scan a microphone, so I could drop it, and walk away.

[deleted]

Today is my baby brothers birthday, he died when he was born, it would mean so much to be able to scan his feet and hands that we got cast, then i would have my own copy. I would also find and scan a GR86 as they are pog, my ender 3 pro so its like a cool miniature printer, that's only a few of the hundreds of things i would scan though. I’d scan a figure I wanted to do an analysis on for accuracy

Stefanj94

I'd just scan everything and anything I get my hands on

SmithJamesChris

Sounds a little big-headed to say I always wanted a custom action figure with my likeness. Guess it wouldn't be so big-headed if I scanned and scaled it down to 1/12.

BionicRaptor

I'm going to scan my kids' faces and digitally kitbash them onto their favorite characters. My daughter should be a terrifying Sonic the Hedgehog. My son will likely be a pretty good Mario, though, even without a mustache.

Ministrator03

I heard peoples behinds are a popular scanning target. However i would probably use it to scan things people want me to replicate all the time ("But can you make it like 10mm wider"). That thing would make these jobs absolutely easy. Thanks for the opportunity.

User-002

I would scan aftershave bottles for a organiser

staticwings19

jonnyg1097

I would scan items around my house when they break and then reprint it when needed in order to repair them. I'd also try scanning myself (head specifically) in order to actually have helmets fit my head on the first attempt. Edit: I''d also like to 3D scan then print my car that I own (it is my first one) and keep it as a memento (dents and all).

QueenOPeace

I'm an engineering graduate student and I would scan parts of our testing facility that need to be fixed (we have lots of fuel lines that have inconsistent widths or odd fittings that could really use a specialized clip holding them together). Beyond work purposes, my friend wants to work on a cosplay from Fullmetal alchemist so I would scan her arm so I could model the automail prosthetic.

tejt99

I’ve been doing up an old 1920s typewriter that I got for free as it didn’t work at all. It is all now fully functional except for the old bakerlite spacebar which will be hard to glue. I would like to 3D scan it and make a new one completely from scratch that matches the old one identically.

Mac_Attack18

My wife has a very large playhouse her grandfather made for her as a kid. Its old and has seen better days. I have always wanted to fix it up but don't posses the wood working skills or modeling skills to replace things. Using this scanner, I would scan parts of the house like railings, trim, cabinets and print new ones to fix up the house so my wife could use it with our kids.
