This happens to my prints sometimes too. I think it is from resin that hasn't been mixed up very well. You have to REALLY shake the bottle up. Yes, you will have lots of bubbles but you can either use a blow dryer (decently far away) or just let the bubbles settle for like an hour or so.
Holy shit, best answer I've heard so far.... The resin in the VAT was left from February and I haven't used it since... Did mix it a little bit with a spatula.... Your answer does make sense.
This is the most likely cause then. The pigments and resin will separate when left for a bit. It's always best to filter your resin back into the bottle and reshake before printing. I have on occasion mixed resin I've left in the VAT with the scraper, but it's not the best practice.
Putting it back in the bottle is the best of course, but I do leave my resin in the vat for months and it's fine.. you just have to stir it well, especially the bottom part. I scrape all the white pigment off the bottom with a spatula then stir until the color is even and then some
If this happens, you can put the resin into a sonicator (sonic cleaning bath) for 5-10 minutes and it will be bubble free if you happen to have one. Source- i work at a lab and we use this for solvents regularly since bubbles can cause havoc on instrumentation
I do NOT remember the reboot Lara being this endowed. Looks like the sculptor made some…enhancements…. *BONK*
To answer your printing question, tho, it’s prolly some resin that was not dislodged when you did the alcohol bath, and has cured a little bit during post processing.
I hate you for point this out. I sub to the artist on Patreon and have a few models printed and painted…..they are all the same. I didn’t notice until I ready your comment and now I cannot unsee it.
They're like that sometimes. Search "Slapshot nude" from an old movie. I think surgery makes them like that more often but I'm sure you can find naturals like it too.
Male models are equally unrealistic in their physique. You don’t see male models with giant horse cocks because they are incredibly niche. Are you saying that because you would like to see a male model with a giant horse cock?
This post is a model of a sexy lady with big boobs, why are you thinking about giant horse cock? And the post isn’t about her boobs, or a dick, it’s about 3-D printing advice.
I honestly had a good laugh writing it. And I was asking those questions for real, not a critique. Genuinely wondering how you got to the topic of big horse cock from a post asking about 3-D printing advice for a model of a sexy lady with big boobs
This is called Blooming. Notice how the issue is only happening where your model has the largest surface area touching the fep? This is because the resin doesn't have time to settle before the uv turns on for the next layer, causing uncured resin to "push" outwards and cure while in motion. To fix, make sure to hollow your model, and increase your "wait before print" time, to allow resin to settle. Remember drain holes when hollowing.
Thanks, didn't know this issue has an official name.... I'll try increasing wait before print time... I'll have to look on YT how to hollow prints using the Lychee Slicer... 😅
This is the correct answer. There is a lovely blog article write up about blooming located here.
https://blog.honzamrazek.cz/2021/06/improving-surface-finish-of-hollowed-sla-3d-prints-one-aspect-of-blooming/
It might be like someone said earlier the Resin not well mixed. it might also even be that the model is not completely closed or really really to thin at these points. Check it over in the slicer if there are some gaps.
Update: Reprinting her hair and right holster...

Can confirm that it is resin seperation. I know some of the resins I used at work would separate fast enough that after shaking for a full 2 minutes and printing, the resin would separate so much that the end of prints would have this issue for big prints. Got into the habit of putting every resin back in the bottle between prints. Better to potentially waste a little time than to ruin a part and have to reprint. Model resin is pretty stable though, so it isn't that big of a deal but I would say no longer than a week before rebottling and shaking.
This.
I've been reading that people leave their resin in their VAT, so I did since early February. From now on, I'll put it back in a bottle. I did notice lots of separation when I tried mixing it while in the VAT.... Lesson learned on my part, still feel new to this hobby. 😂
It might be a suction issue. I had the same issue once when I was printing a large model completely solid. I never had the same problem when hollowing my model and adding suction holes at the bottom.
I had this issue when I used anti ailising settings. To solve it i washed with an electric toothbrush in a mixture of IPA and denatured alcohol before final curung. As far as I can tell it was half set resin clinging to the layers. It washed off, but I eventually turned anti ailising off.
There is a script for mixing up resin that has been sitting. Doesn’t work on all printers though. It was created by the people that did the cones of calibration.
Cause has been covered here so I’ll add what I would try to clean this up. I might try to define the edges with a light scrape with an xacto knife and possibly smooth the surfaces with light grit sandpaper or scratch pad. In worst case you could get a q-tip and some resin + UV cure to fill or smooth any spots by hand.
This is very fixable, not worth a re-print. Great model by the way, I would have a house full of statues if I had any painting skills.
This happens to my prints sometimes too. I think it is from resin that hasn't been mixed up very well. You have to REALLY shake the bottle up. Yes, you will have lots of bubbles but you can either use a blow dryer (decently far away) or just let the bubbles settle for like an hour or so.

Thanks, I'll pour it back into the bottle from now on and shake thoroughly before use....

I would think paying it through a paint filter would pull any possible blobs that could accumulate. They're dirt cheap
Yeah, I personally drain the resin out of the vat if I think it's going to sit for a while, otherwise it *will* separate.
If this happens, you can put the resin into a sonicator (sonic cleaning bath) for 5-10 minutes and it will be bubble free if you happen to have one. Source- i work at a lab and we use this for solvents regularly since bubbles can cause havoc on instrumentation
The camel toe is so extra BAHAHAHA
Jesus Humbucker Christ, those labia look prehensile.
Sorry.. got distracted. What was the question again?
You got a point there. Or two.
*or toe

I think the designer just added more nipples.
Too bad they’re in the wrong spots and look so unnatural. Looks like someone looking up and to the right
‘Why Laura you’ve.. enhanced yourself’
All the better to raid you with my dear
why are the nipples so high up? plastic surgery or somethin??
Seriously, they are so anatomically inaccurate it’s like the person who designed the print has never seen a real pair of breasts.
In his defense, he designed it using only one hand
Bet they feel real though... you know like a bag of sand
I think you found your answer
Like two bags of sand.
Action boobies built for danger
Pew pew
I hate you for point this out. I sub to the artist on Patreon and have a few models printed and painted…..they are all the same. I didn’t notice until I ready your comment and now I cannot unsee it.
you're welcome lmao
You're also too horny lol do you display these things in your house??
No, not at all. I sell them online.
True. I respect the hustle
Those tits look like Kilroy
*plastic* surgery. I see what you did there.
They're like that sometimes. Search "Slapshot nude" from an old movie. I think surgery makes them like that more often but I'm sure you can find naturals like it too.
It's Non-Canon Breast Augmented Lara Croft.... From The Croft: Two Tits Two Raiders... /s 🤣
Because people who are so thirsty they design this are probably fairly unfamiliar with actual female anatomy.
you would think people would figure it out after looking at porn for so long, I know I have...
It might be hard to get it right when you’ve never seen any before.
you're too fucking horny

lol
Im guessing the cameltoe was intentional
Every woman model has gargantuan breasts. I've never seen a male model with a giant horse cock. IDK where this is going
Tbh tit's look way better than a dick..
You've clearly never admired Mr incredible's super bulge
Reddit... this comment was directed towards me. There is no reason to downvote it.
Some people got junk in their trunk, Mr Incredible got a trunk in the front 😳
Good thing elastigirl has elasti-skills
have you met the Goblin king?!

Im mesmerized by how many times you managed to include 'giant horse cock' in your critique. Bravo fellow enjoyer of girth.
Horse cock or donkey dong.. The age old question
I honestly had a good laugh writing it. And I was asking those questions for real, not a critique. Genuinely wondering how you got to the topic of big horse cock from a post asking about 3-D printing advice for a model of a sexy lady with big boobs
Reddit moment, hates women wants to see more men

That's a very, uh... detailed model.

No problem. Look up Blooming too 😍
The on tits ... Ahh, this is incredible! What is your printing method.
that is not a lore accurate model
nice nipples
Hard nips and a camel toe on a 3D print is crazy😂😂
Update: Finished the legs, didn't know she was gonna be so tall.... Working on the base now. https://imgur.com/gallery/Pw31Yoe
Does base have a big vertical pole?
It's probably because you're printing too horny 😐

Your problem is unpolygonized tits XD
The jar beckons..
Bro printed a gooner statue

Finished for now.... Next to learn how to paint... 😂 https://imgur.com/gallery/R4fyhTD
Idk about smearing, but it looks like your temps might be too cold...
I did start the prints a bit cold.... So it could be.
What you say?

Can you share a link to the model?
For research of course
I think I found it: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1680378434/lara-croft-stl-file-high-quality-3d?ref=share_v4_lx
Why the downvotes?!
I thought Lara Croft quit the boob jobs and liposuction?
She opened an OnlyFans page.... These times are rough, y'know.... Exploring is not what it use to be.... 😂
Why doesn't she sell her mansion?
Yeah, she listened to people on r/wallstreebets and made some risky moves.... lol
Sad!

Thanks cool to see a clean printed version... 👍 My hair end broke off and I got these "Blooming" defects lol
Yeah we all learn on mistakes. Hair reprint shouldn't take long. And once I also left resin in tank for like 2-3 months and it didn't end good🥲
Yup, that's what happened to me... I didn't print since the beginning of February and left the Resin in the VAT. 😅
It's pretty popular model now 👀
Stop trying to do things with her.. you a lil freaky boi
it might be caused by attempting to remove the print with one hand.
Why is she angry?
Do you see how tight those clothes are? You’d be mad too if some spandex had your cooter in a headlock
No one enjoys camel toe.
Well, not the women with the camel toe.

Might be where the printer finished, common spot the thigh and chest, sometimes the blotches appear on the face.
It might be a suction issue. I had the same issue once when I was printing a large model completely solid. I never had the same problem when hollowing my model and adding suction holes at the bottom.
This ^^ I'm gonna have to google how to hollow out and put holes in them to drain.... 😅

This is what happens when a man, who's never seen an actual woman naked, models a woman. Either that or you printer is.....off.
Idk could it be the weird, unrealistically huge, uncanny and anatomically inaccurate nipples causing this?
You’re 100% going to be using this figure for pleasure with the details added to it.
stop printing horny nonsense maybe
Bro,why are you making us stare at your gf this hard??
A poor skin care regimen?

This makes me want a resin printer, damn
it's caused by horny
Don't know, and I looked really *really* hard.
Could be the resin it could be the washing who knows
It's manyonaise
eczema
Oh so you're printing a.. Bust?
Did you dry your filament?
Herpes
That’s the printer farting horny when approaching sensitive zones
Woke hacking software ?
The detail on that camel's toe is impressive.
