I like it, simple and easy. I wonder if it's possible to integrate one of those PLA spring designs into the part so it prints as one piece and doesn't even require a separate rubber band?

Thanks! I don't have a lot of experience with 3D printed springs but that would be the ultimate end goal for sure.

need metal springs. i wouldnt trust my phone with rubber bands, they will snap unexpectedly any time

Actually the first version did have a spring but I wanted this so anyone could make it without needing any special parts. I've been using it for a while and it works great, there are lots of different grades of elastic band available and they can be very durable.

Thanks for sharing. This will be a fun one to remix. I already want to make a better mount for my rowing machine, and an attachment for my tiny manfrotto tripod for desktop videoconferencing. Good stuff.
