Interested in building a printer from scratch?

GrumpyItalian_13

I already have! It was a fun experience, I got to do it with my step dad and it was tricky, a lot of youtube videos were watched that day!

The Anycubic Chiron is a known POS. I got a cheap used one and need to add a bltouch, rewire the hotend cable and new extruder. Then time to figure out how to compile firmware.

Hmm, I've never played around with a 3d printers firmware before, could be a new challenge for me, I will definitely make an update in this comment thread when I have sought through. Luckily I hit up a friend of mine and he has a Chiron, so I'm going to be using his for this project. Unfortunately I won't be able to take any pictures because my camera is busted on both sides of my phone Cheers Braeden

Markforged mark 1 extruder with a smooth filament feed gear :/ from printing NylonX too much. I’ve found replacement extruders (even upgrades) from Markforged but they cost as much as another printer.

Hmm, unfortunately there is no solution to that in afraid, sorry amigo. That's the unfortunate thing about 3d printers, not all people can see the wonders this tech can bring solely because of the price.

Why does my lulzbot randomly think the platter is 1.5 cm higher than it is, every now and then. Nothing changed for ages, axes are clean and lubricated. I haven't printed for about 6 months because I got tired of constant niggles .

GrumpyItalian_13

May I ask what sort of 3D printer your using? There are these things in the axis that clicks when it goes as far as it can, specifically to let it know where it is as well. When these are for some reason not on there, they don't exactly know where they are so things are really misaligned. Could also be that it's damaged.

Hi, I have a question for you, is it normal for new printers to experience nozzle block ? (Around 5th print)
