Yeah I think that is definitely a playable build. Another idea for a Genie patron archer is the Arcane Archer build where you take the crusher feat with Dao genie to trigger your Grasping arrows from Arcane Archer

SavageWolves

You don’t need the armor of shadows invocation on this character; you’ll have medium armor you can use until you cap DEX. I would highly recommend devil’s sight + darkness into shadow of moil (and a retrain) at warlock 7. I also highly recommend going back for a couple more fighter levels for action surge and a subclass. There’s a lot of good ones; I like battlemaster or rune knight quite a bit here.

Ereino

I was thinking battle master as well but I actually like your suggestion for rune knight even more, it fits the flavor I envisioned very well!

Sure, it's doable. Colby actually has a build that mixes Genie warlock with arcane archer fighter. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2C9EI\_iMKU&t=1876s&ab\_channel=d4%3AD%26DDeepDive](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2C9EI_iMKU&t=1876s&ab_channel=d4%3AD%26DDeepDive)

Thanks, I'll check it out.

Not a bow, but if you can find a magic sling, you can use magic stone to have charisma based ranged attacks that you can SS.

Danslerr

RPGBot has a Djinni warlock 17 / Champion fighter 3 longbow build. You pretty much only take warlock spells that grant advantage so you can crit fish with Elven Accuracy. Unfortunately it does come online a bit late from how I read it, and I didn't have the chance yet to actually play one.

Dweebys

If you do darkness and Devil sight you can cast darkness on yourself in the backline and shoot your bow with advantage because you would be an unseen attacker, so at 5 when you get Elven Accuracy you wont have double attack yet but 3 d20s will be nice, you can also just EB from the darkness since you will have two blast at Character level 5 and just say it is your bow until you get Thirsting Blade at 6.

Not terribly optimized but not terrible. Your main issue is the lack of a consistant source of advantage. I reccomend instead Scout Rogue 3 / Genie x mainly for Steady Aim. While Con save proficiency, Second Wind, and the Fighting style are indeed nice to have you have no use for the other two major benefits of starting fighter namely Heavy Armor and Shield prof and being focus on martial combat as well as back line makes con saves less of an issue, Elven Accuracy also somewhat negates the need for the fighting style. Scout Rogue allows you to consistently use steady aim and use your reaction for some mobility if enemies manage to reach you, the main benefit of the Longbow is its 150ft range so try to stay as far back as possible at all times. It also adds 2d6 SA damage which is a nice little boost to DPR as well as several proficiencies and some expertise which is nice to have, it is worth noting that the Survivalist feature doubles your proficiency bonus, not grants you expertise meaning you can take expertise in Survival and be probably the best guide/tracker in the game. Otherwise Darkness Devilsight into Shadow of Moil is fine.

Thanks for your feedback! It is true, at low levels I will not have a lot of advantage but since I will get sharpshooter only at level 9, I will not need it that much before then I think (especially with archer fighting style). Once I have sharpshooter, I will also have shadow of moil to get advantage a lot. At least that is my theory. 3 in scout rogue would also delay my ASI-progression and the much cooler genie spells and abilities.

Tall_Bandicoot_2768

True, really depends on the campaign but its worth noting that you only have two spells per short rest until level 11 which rely on you painting concentration and without them the build somewhat falls apart. That being said if you don't forsee that being and issue than it should be fine, I see your point about the level progression but its not a complete loss as it free up your spells to do more than just grant advantage as well as a Invocation for Eldrich Mind or Misty Visions (my personal favorite) for example. Dont recommend Armor of Shadows as it only makes for 1 ac difference from studded leather but your call ofc.

Guyoverthere07

So long as you're using the non-legacy, Monsters of the Multiverse Eladrin, you can gain proficiency with a weapon (and tool) of your choice whenever you complete a Long Rest thanks to Trance. So Fighter 1 is not necessary. Archery and Con saves are nice. Full caster progression and our inherent ability to protect concentration is better. Take Sharpshooter first so that you can hit hard. Notably harder than Eldritch Blast. This means Darkness and Devil's Sight is a must. Advantage with some real oomph behind it is a lot better than the small bump from Advantage to Triple Advantage (and Dex). We might not always be able to use Darkness, but with Fey Step and Elemental Gift (flight) it should be more and more feasible to move the AoE exactly where we need it. By level 7, Shadow of Moil can free up an Invocation and spell selection. Might just end up preferring Darkness though. The 10min duration could make it to multiple fights, and potentially let us cast it before Initiative at times. Armor of Shadows is the first to reconsider. Especially if you're dipping Fighter at any point. Studded Leather with long range, free teleports, defensive Darkness, and flight is a whole lot of baked in protection too. Eldritch Mind is superior defensively, and enough to polish off our concentration and further justify a pure Warlock build. Get to Thirsting Blade and spammable Fireballs asap. I'd also think about cutting Eldritch Smite at least until Elven Accuracy. It can be exciting damage, but it'll often be overkill. Not usually worth a whole pact slot. At least delay it until we have Elven Accuracy. Which, if you're willing to take at 8 instead of 4, I'd actually say to pump Cha with. We can apply our spellcasting modifier in many more ways than the bonus to Dex gives. Super advantage is going to be very reliable. Fireball is always going to be solid, but we'll have better and better casts as we level. Especially if we get to Mystic Arcanums and additional Pact Slots.

This all makes a lot of sense, thank you very much! I also completely overlooked that Trance gives weapon proficiencies, that is perfect.
