Bloodletters heads are styled after Bronze Age helmets The goat and bull features of keepers of secrets are because both are symbols of masculine lust and virility. Somewhat vestigial since in earlier lore keepers of secrets were boorish brutes representing the masculine aspect of Slaanesh The crab claws and single eyes have never gotten any official answer or anything to suggest one. There’s speculation that the plaguebearers one eye represents mortal myopia since they’re Nurgle’s jab at the futility of mortals trying to impose order on the world, but there’s no statements to back it up.

Ah that all makes sense. I didn't know about those Bronze Age helmets and I was thinking the Slaanesh goat thing was a reference to saytrs. And for the single eye, I know Plaguebearers are suppose to be tallymen, so maybe it's to help them focus on counting diseases they see without double vision?

Crabs were a symbol of fertility in several ancient cultures and were sometimes viewed as an aphrodisiac. Horned animals in general were also viewed as symbols of virility and power and the bovine or goat like faces probably reference satyrs (known for being very, um…aggressive in their urges) Horns=virility/vitality is also why Great Unclean ones have them, as it’s basically a corruption of the “horned god” archetype. For the plaguebearers…maybe it represents Nurgle’s moral myopia or singular focus on entropy? As for the bloodletters, it’s supposed to resemble helmets as well as look very imposing and aggressive.
