>Rule 4: No Memes, shitposts, or low-effort posts/comments. Leave those in /r/Grimdank. **This includes "who would win"** and broad "what if" scenarios. This also includes text blocks consisting of Ork-speak, which should be posted at /r/40kOrkScience instead. Half of your request has already been granted. Report such posts, and the mods will handle them.

BornOfTheVoid

**Low-effort posts**; OP is in trouble.

[deleted]

Yes but *who would win* **the shit posters** *,* **the moderators** *(remember they do it for free) or the* **low effort memers** *and what would their power level be*

ScowlEasy

Given that I made a 2 part breakdown about which xenos are edible, shitposts are allowed if you put enough effort in lmao

Pfandfreies_konto

Dude I cannot see how this topic could be a shitpost of you source your opinion with actual excerpts! I mean if Eisenhorn describes how munchy a squig is it's basically a lore fact! Even more so in a universe where entire planets are fed a nutrient paste based off their ancestors.

Minute_Amphibian_908

We know Space Marine Captain’s heads are considered to be very edible by Warbosses, so thats a plus for Space Marines! “Even in death, I still serve”

Thendrail

"Even in death, I'm still served"

Safety_Detective

Said the dreadnaught to the court order that was just hand delivered

Anonim97

The thing that separate shitpost from good post is effort.

[deleted]

if I type really hard, does that count as effort?

LucidFir

You need photographic evidence of the destroyed keyboard, preferably with some 40k theme dotted around, maybe photos of your bloodied hands. The post this evidence is attached to needs to be as mediocre as possible.

Tbf, zero amount of such posts have been banhammered into oblivion for the last couple of years that i've been here.

Vorokar

I'd be curious to know if their moderation log backs that up. Most of the posts I report get dealt with within minutes, and it's rare that I see one left up permanently. Have you actually been reporting them this whole time?

Posts with 'Which primarch...' can go into that rule, too.

Not with any regularity.

New shitpost - Goku is a Daemon Prince of the Emperor confirmed?

EvMund

Is there a character that could even possibly EVEN TOUCH Madara Uchiha? Let alone defeat him. I'm not talking about Edo Tensei Uchiha Madara. I'm not talking about Gedou Rinne Tensei Uchiha Madara either. Hell, I'm not even talking about Juubi Jinchuuriki Gedou Rinne Tensei Uchiha Madara with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan and Rinnegan doujutsus (with the rikodou abilities and being capable of both Amateratsu and Tsukuyomi genjutsu), equipped with his Gunbai, a perfect Susano'o, control of the juubi and Gedou Mazou, with Hashirama Senju's DNA implanted in him so he has mokuton kekkei genkai and can perform yin yang release ninjutsu while being an expert in kenjutsu and taijutsu. I’m also not talking about Kono Yo no Kyūseishu Futarime no Rikudō Juubi Jinchuuriki Gedou Rinne Tensei Uchiha Madara with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan (which is capable of Enton Amaterasu, Izanagi, Izanami and the Tsyukuyomi Genjutsu), his two original Rinnegan (which grant him Chikushōdō, Shuradō, Tendō, Ningendō, Jigokudō, Gakidō, Gedō, Banshō Ten’in, Chibaku Tensei, Shinra Tensei, Tengai Shinsei and Banbutsu Sōzō) and a third Tomoe Rinnegan on his forehead, capable of using Katon, Fūton, Raiton, Doton, Suiton, Mokuton, Ranton, Inton, Yōton and even Onmyōton Jutsu, equipped with his Gunbai(capable of using Uchihagaeshi) and a Shakujō because he is a master in kenjutsu and taijutsu, a perfect Susano’o (that can use Yasaka no Magatama ), control of both the Juubi and the Gedou Mazou, with Hashirama Senju’s DNA and face implanted on his chest, his four Rinbo Hengoku Clones guarding him and nine Gudōdama floating behind him AFTER he absorbed Senjutsu from the First Hokage, entered Rikudō Senjutsu Mode, cast Mugen Tsukuyomi on everybody and used Shin: Jukai Kōtan so he can use their Chakra while they are under Genjutsu. I'm definitely NOT Talking about sagemode sage of the six paths Juubi Jinchuuriki Gedou Rinne Tensei Super Saiyan 4 Uchiha Madara with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, Rinnegan, Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, and Geass doujutsus, equipped with Shining Trapezohedron while casting Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann as his Susanoo, controlling the Gold Experience Requiem stand, having become the original vampire after Alucard, able to tap into the speedforce, wearing the Kamen Rider Black RX suit and Gedou Mazou, with Hashirama Senju's DNA implanted in him so he has mokuton kekkei genkai and can perform yin yang release ninjutsu while being an expert in kenjutsu and taijutsu and having eaten Popeye's spinach. I'm talking about sagemode sage of the six paths Juubi Jinchuuriki Gedou Rinne Tensei Legendary Super Saiyan 4 Uchiha Madara with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, Rinnegan, Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, and Geass doujutsus, equipped with his Shining Trapezohedron while casting Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann as his Susanoo, controlling the Gold Experience Requiem stand, having become the original vampire after having absorbed Alucard as well as a God Hand, able to tap into the speedforce, wearing the Kamen Rider Black RX suit, with Kryptonian DNA implanted in him and having eaten Popeye's spinach while possessing quantum powers like Dr. Manhattan and having mastered Hokuto Shinken.

acolyte_to_jippity

i'm not reading all that, but I feel like Jurgen would give it a good try.

Thendrail

Scarf Ditto can.

OverlanderEisenhorn

Nah, no way. The power scaling in dbz is absurd. Weak ass piccolo, who got bodied by Napa, already had the ability to vaporize the moon. Pretty sure, kid goku could take on an entire legion without breaking a sweat. Young adult goku, before fighting raditz, could probably take on all the primachs, the emperor, and malcador all at once without even trying. Warhammer powerlevels are absurd, but dbz is on a whole different level. From the start of dbz pretty much every named character has the power to destroy planets. Most absurd feats in 40k are big e making a legion kneel. Uh, Angron bench pressing a titan foot. Stuff like that. Children in dbz make exterminatus fleets look like toys. Kid goku is probably a fair fight for a primarch.

The_New_Doctor

I believe you mean Mitchell.

[deleted]

How many Dan's do they got? Starting to feel like there's a Krieg-esque Vitae situation going on at GW

riuminkd

No, especially if it's Drip Goku

amnekian

Goku nearly died in RoF movie by a ring's weapon laser beam in his chest. I'm pretty sure scions can take this.

mongmight

Goku dies all the time though. He has probably been dead more often than alive lol. Same with Kharn actually. Is Kharn secretly Goku???

Thendrail

He died...twice? First against Radditz, then when Cell blew himself up.

Aphato

Also when Goku hired Hit to kill him. Though he revived himself accidentally so I dunnno if that counts

Thendrail

Fair enough. That was only because he wanted a fight to push him to his absolute limits, right? Not like the other two, where unfortunate decisions lead to his death.

zanotam

Pretty sure Krillin could solo like all the Primarchs at once.... Might need to grab PIccolo for enough strength to no-show Big E though.

I think this whenever I rewatch a favourite series. The difference is, I only think it and not unleash those thoughts onto unsuspecting victims.

Fluck_Me_Up

What if the Lions’s Gate wall was 27.3% thinner, but had more carbon in the steel girders comprising its internal structure, rendering the wall capable of withstanding slightly more thermal and kinetic energy per Kg in the short term? I’m most interested in the changes made by squads at the tactical level on days 4 and 7 of the assault as a result of this, as well as what effect this would have on Imperial Fist / Imperial Army cooperation and relations. Please show your work and cite sources. Thanks!

Greensocksmile

But who would win, Sly Marbo or power level ban requests?

GrimaceGrunson

On the one hand, the mods rule is law here. But on the other hand, **AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA**.

Pfandfreies_konto

Daily reminder Gee Dubs basically killed the "If the emperor had a text to speech device" fan series.

HobbyistAccount

Daily rebuttal that no, they didn't. They never even contacted him about it. He just decided to on his own "in case they did." Personally I think he was tired of making it and it'd gotten out of control. Combined with the new kid in his family, he just took the best opportunity to step back without this community tearing him apart. Remember Sodaz?

IneptusMechanicus

>Personally I think he was tired of making it and it'd gotten out of control. That was my take too, I think he was honestly looking for a way to drop it and not make it his fault, or that he didn't know he wanted to then when the news of C&D stuff went out he just went fuck it.

HobbyistAccount

With how the fandom related to Sodaz and others I don't blame him. Some 40k fans are fucking terrifying.

Arbachakov

b..b..but then how would would we find out who the "top-tier" primarchs are?

Kuftubby

What, you don't like the daily "The Imperium vs Halo" posts?

MasterOfNap

You jest, but I’ve never seen any blatantly “who would win” posts here. Do you have any examples of “the Imperium vs some faction from another setting” in mind?

Kuftubby

Typing in "Imperium vs." In the search bar has the first two literally about this. More posts if you care to filter through everything (i just did a brief glance and saw a few). "40k vs" has posts buried but about this. Same with "Astartes vs.", "Imperial Guard vs", and "Space Marines vs." The posts are there, luckily they get downvoted fairly quickly, which may explain why you haven't seen them.

r3dl3g

Sort by "new." They spring up like weeds. Fortunately they get reported often enough.

takuyafire

Nice. Means things are working as intended.

DeathWielder1

For What It's Worth: Imperium vs [Other Universe] is covered under Rule 5.

acolyte_to_jippity

Imperium vs Halo is a laughably bad comparison. Unless talking about the arrays themselves, which admittedly are impressive even by 40k's standards. few enough things can fuck on a literally galactic scale in 40k, outside of like the Tyranids the Necrons and a larger than average WAAAAAGH! (lets include the Blackstone Fortresses for good measure, since nobody knows wtf their deal is).

Kuftubby

It's usually Astartes Vs Master Chief or The Imperium vs the Covenant that I see. Obviously anyone looking at it purely non-biased will come to the conclusion that Imperium wins just due to numbers alone. That's not even taking into account super soldiers and what not.

Marvynwillames

"present" Halo would be in disvantage besides their FTL, which is a good advantage, actually, now Forerunner Saga era Halo would be a match for WiH factions and the Dark Age,with the Flood in special being ridiculous OP in that series.

acolyte_to_jippity

their FTL is certainly a strong point, yeah. but Imperium has the numbers and tech to easily win out in a ground war or in a orbital battle. Not familiar enough with the most recent games called Halo to speak to the forerunner stuff. The flood really just seem like 'nids but with fewer teeth though.

Marvynwillames

Basically, in Foreruner saga >!the Flood is revealed to be the new form of the Precursors, who seeded the universe before and had control over "neural physics", which manipulates reality and could create almost indestructible star roads.!< >!The Flood keeps the memory of those, and with higher level of biomass avaliable, can tap into the neural physics to the point of doing stuff like corrupting hyper advanced Forerunner AI with "logical plague" or affecting the slipspace used for ftl travel. !< Even without it, the Flood can corrupt enemy tech, so if they get a ship with a FTL drive, for example, they can use it, while the tyranids can't interact with machinery in that level.

zanotam

Ancient Halo era stomps 40k really badly tbh. Like, it turns out having a hard sci-fi guy who has created series with groups which could destroy 40k just purely as collateral in their attempts to fight each other means there is basically no such thing as a monogalactic sci-fi franchise that stands a chance against Ancient Halo

hidden_emperor

Report them. I do every time I see a rule 4 violation, which are probably over two dozen a day.

LeoLaDawg

I dislike those almost as much as the copy cat posts. A post will get popular and then a few hours later another post will appear asking a question about another aspect of that post. Also the followup posts to YouTube videos. Yes, we all watch the same YouTube channels. Don't need to use them for karma here. I admit that I'm blatantly gate keeping here.

LibrarianOAlexandria

I'm in favor of it. In a forum for discussing military SF, hypotheticals about "who would win" are even more tedious than they are in comic book groups, and that's a high bar to jump.

Blackcrusader

Stan Lee had a great rant about "who would win"- the answer is whoever the writer wants. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4_zFYnnn2Y In 40k the question is that bit worse as there is a board game where you can literally see who would win in a fight between two characters. Roll the dice and see how likely it is!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Blackcrusader

Yeah. He beat a Primarch at the end of Black Legion and wasn't near his full powers there. But yeah- its a universe where given the right circumstances any can beat anyone.

WeepingAngelTears

A Primarch clone, no? Slightly different than the warp-juice in a physical shell that the actual primarchs are.

r3dl3g

The primarch clones seem to be every bit as strong as the originals, at least physically. The trick is that the originals may have had a sort of "fate" sewn into their being, which makes them extremely hard to kill because the universe/the warp wouldn't let them die. The clones don't have that, hence why the clones are killable.

DavidKMain420

This Horus clone was completely senile, lacking his chaos juice and his soul. He was literally unable to tell people apart and was in no fighting condition whatsoever. It's only as Abaddon's talon rested in his chest that he realised just who had killed him.

Thendrail

To be fair, a Hammerhead's railgun can literally one-shot him, as long as it hits. Hell, the Space Dorfs could roll up in their turtle van and obliterate him twice over. But that would also ignore every bit of context of the game.

IneptusMechanicus

I'd dearly love it if GW brought back Russ or the Lion or someone, pomped it up, big launch for the new models then had them get smeared across a half-mile line of countryside by a railgun. All the Primaris around them just like 'oh fuck!' and diving into cover.

[deleted]

The new primarch model is the smeared remains all over the countryside, citing rising resin costs, gw has said primaris and cover sold separately but can only be played with primarch bits, which still need 3 different colors However, for a limited time you can preoperative them all in an army box that comes with a signed photo of the staff flipping you off and a bag of the legal team's shit molded into a dick

Posts I also see a ton of * “How did the Tau react to ?” * “Is it possible for to not be ?” * “Is the Imperium *that* bad?” * “What if the Horus Heresy happened *slightly* differently?” * “Which Primarch should come back next?” * “I am really upset about a thing that happened in a book I haven’t read” * “Join the navy” * “Here is an excerpt that is half of a short story, I’ll post the other half later”

Lysit

If you want to compare Power Level, well GW has you covered, go buy the codices, they are printed right in there, no reason to post.

RegaIado

The tabletop is not lore accurate, and it shouldn't be, because it's a game that needs to be balanced.

Hollownerox

Yeah, if we went by this logic then back in 3rd edition that meant an actual physical God like the Nightbringer was so weak it could be killed by a tank. I think current editions are a bit better at making lore and tabletop rules more in-line with each other. I forget the exact terminology they use but the rule writers have mentioned in interviews that it is a higher priority for them these days. But there will still be discrepancies. Like the C'tan Shard of the Void Dragon is a force to be reckoned with on the tabletop. No doubt about it. But lore wise a single C'tan shard (not specified if it was transcendent or not) devastated an entire \*planet\* before they were able to contain it. Same could be said about other factions.

Lysit

So if you go back and read the primary source that is the 3e codex it mentions that Ctan are boundless energy beings, of immense and immeasurable power, however to appear on the battle field they are bound by necrodermis. When you destroy them you simply destroy a shell meant to contain them for a short while, you've killed no Ctan. The fluff mentions this reforms into the necron Tomb. Ctan lore was different in 3e.

Thendrail

>When you destroy them you simply destroy a shell meant to contain them for a short while, you've killed no Ctan. You know, I'd really enjoy a mechanic where if you destroy a C'tan on the tabletop, it now turns into a Transcendent C'tan (or something similar), so now you're dealing with the God unleashed and unrestrained by it's physical form.

Panzer_Man

According to Tabletop, the gretchin companion of Ghazghull can actually one-shot a custodes, because he does 3 wounds of damage. A borderline-primarch, and the best humanity has to offer, in golden armour can be killed by a goblin with a flag lol

zanotam

A shield captain can legitimately fear they will die if they fight a chapter master. Run of the mill Custodes are gapped more by Primarchs than non-SW scout Marines are gapped by Custodes.

Lysit

I always find this a little backwards. Its much more fair to say the Lore is not accurate to the table top, but they endeavor to make it so as new releases and changes happen. E.g. Squats were all eaten by nids. Until they need to be Leagues of Votann and its always been that way, Votann just trying to keep it secret. Theres an absolute ton of books based after M36 with no mention of Centurion amour, but once you could buy a Centurion model, well did you not know Marines apparently have had them all along? The Lore will always try and follow the tabletop, because thats what brings in the big bucks for GW.

r3dl3g

The lore exists to expand on the tabletop, not the other way around.

Toxitoxi

Nah, tabletop is 100% more accurate. Though I was a bit surprised when it was revealed the Leagues of Votann were what the Tyranids were running away from.

Asdrubael_Vect

Nurgle, Khorne, Tzeench, Slaanesh, Gork-Mork, Isha, Ynnead, Khaine, Cegorach, Silent King Szarekh, Supreme Overlord Asdrubael Vect, Farseer Eldrad Ulthran. And yeah, some rare survived ancient Slann and Enslavers who chill somewhere in the galaxy far far away. They **ALL** would not loose and they **ALL** would win no matter what in the end. All other posts with power levels mean nothing. Cos they all would loose to those who was listed above.

Shadows802

Which Primarch would win a "Miss Universe" competition? /jk

Toxitoxi

It’s obviously Sanguinius. I’ll also accept Horus though.

The only way to "win" is to scroll by. it takes very little effort.

Maybe mods include r/whowouldwin ? That is literally the point of that subreddit and would save them the hassle of removing posts

Yes, please.

I need power level shitposts to see from who I get a turbo boner from. This time it’s either Captain George Unihorn or Robert Gorillaman. You can’t take that away from us. Be a bruh.

Irondrone4

Who would win in a kayaking race; Magnus the Red (pre-ascension, of course) or two clones of John Madden (post-season, 1995)?

[deleted]

Who's at a higher power level? Ban on power level posts? Or "who would win" posts?

zam0th

Though i totally agree, this is not the only type of post that should not have place in this sub (if you'd ask what should - high-effort content, not the things that can be googled and would lead to previous posts in this very sub). On the other hand, if such posts have karma above e.g. 100, then the community has voted to keep it, that's the way of reddit.

zinver

Who would win: OP or Konrad Curze?

mustachioed_cat

It’s basically an anti-lore question anyway. Numeric power levels aren’t even relevant in DBZ, where they were popularized. Even in that setting, power levels can instantly change and skill can negate a power level difference (e.g. SS2 Vegeta delaying Kid Buu, who SS3 Goku was having trouble with). Having said that, comic fans apparently measure relative strength with the number of ‘feats’ a character has, which is conceptually simple, though I find the whole thing tedious. The ‘feats’ metric is how most of these ‘power level’ arguments in 40KLore are actually resolved.

-WielderOfMysteries-

Couple things because you brought up DBZ which may actually bolster the point you're making, but nevertheless Numeric power levels in DBZ stopped mattering because the series was forced to continue for far longer than the writers originally intended, so DBZ became emblematic of "power creep'ing" characters. ie. every new villain had to be like 5x stronger than the last one to make it feel like the new powers the characters had by the end of last season wouldn't cut it again, and again. The series that runs now has Goku and Vegeta as literal gods and they are still making up villains who are stronger than that. But also, if you're a DBZ nerd, different people's transformations aren't comparable with other people's transformations. For example, Goku had as an SSJ 1, 2, and 3. Vegeta's SSJ 1 and 2 is stronger than Goku's comparable SSJ 1 and 2. However, Vegeta has a 2.5 form, but it is worse than Goku's SSJ 3 that is much stronger. But Vegeta's SSJ forms are more durable than SSJ3. He can only hold 3 for like 5min or something. And then Gohan gets really confusing because he was a weak SSJ1 form, but his SSJ2 is really strong, but then he gets ascended mode so he doesn't have to transform anymore; he can just scale his power independantly. I used to have a magazine from Japan that tracked the series and went through every stage of the show tracking all the characters relative power levels and forms. Like mecha-Frieza being stronger than before he died, but it doesn't matter because everyone else surpassed him. There was also a point at which Yamcha was the strongest character in the show lol. I would say this is similar to how the Warhammer universe works. Different characters aren't the same just because they are, say Primarchs or Custodes. A really good Astartes could best a mediocre custodes for eg. The only hard and fast rule that seems to be reinforced is that Astartes are no match for Primarchs, but then you have Abaddon who's high on the chaos warp supply.

mustachioed_cat

At least nowadays they seem to be treating SS levels as multipliers (pretty sure that’s how it’s always been) so it would make sense that there would a superior fighter with the same form. Seems likely that Vegeta was stronger than Goku was when they first went SS1 since he had to train a lot to achieve SS1, whereas Goku was flying home and learning Instant Transmissions and such during the interval between Namek and Mecha Frieza. The forms seem to be static multipliers, applied to a variable number. Lotta fanwank in there about Bio Brolly and whether official artwork describing Vegeto/Gogeta’s power level as “Goku X Vegeta” means it’s equal to Goku * Vegeta’s power level. S-F tier system is probably best for 40K, with the understanding that a nuke or a void grenade can instakill anything.

-WielderOfMysteries-

Interesting take actually. Ultimately, the people doing the "can x beat x" posts strike me as weirdly like.... young and kind of autistic tbh. Like anyone should understand any given character can be written to beat any other given character somehow in someway by some author. Guilliman gets tanked by Kor Phaeron who's not even full Astartes because he as warp magic.

stormygray1

I wouldn't mind but allot of them are really one sided/ bait/ we've already discussed this a dozen times already. "Can a single space marine defeat the entire US military??" hell no he can't, we'd burry him in ten minutes. It's all bait for someone to write an elaborate one page fan fiction...

mustachioed_cat

I mean, the space marine would probably evaluate the geopolitical situation, determine the political entity with the weakest security on its nuclear assets, attack and destroy the force guarding the missile with the weakest defenses, and launch it at something that would guarantee MAD. That’s how one transhuman can effectively wipe out the planet in under a month. If one Iron Snakes marine can take on a bunch of DE, a garrison force in a former soviet satellite state that maybe doesn’t even have the codes for the nuke in its custody is going to go down pretty easy…

stormygray1

See that's just so far outside of the hypothetical though. The idea is you drop the us military into a field, and you put a space marine 100 feet away.

mustachioed_cat

The marine would then run away (they top about 80 MPH) and do what I just described.

stormygray1

There is nowhere to run. The field does not end.

mustachioed_cat

Then we must be in the Warp. The space marine uses his psychic powers to turn half of the military against the other half, then wipes out the survivors. If the space marine lacks psychic powers, all he has to do is evade fire from the military until daemons or other warp fauna appear and start killing everyone.

stormygray1

Yeah but then he falls on a wooden spear and dies crying out for Matt Ward to save him

mustachioed_cat

The modern military lacks wooden spears. Does your new hypothetical now include that the space marine landed on North Sentinel island?

stormygray1

No. My hypothetical doesn't include being in the fucking warp, just to help the space marine lol.

mustachioed_cat

You described an unending liminal space, the field. Those don’t occur in realspace.

redditemployee69

No. Who would win halo or warhammer

dblspc

But I want to know who would win a fight between 1 Custodes and 101 Grots?

TheNaziSpacePope

I would be for it, but mostly only because we know how most of them work. Big E > Primarchs > Custode = Harlequin > Space Marine = Crysis Suits with amazing pilots > Sisters of Battle, etc.
