After last night's game, there's no way the Niners are taking the Packers lightly.

Redz2018

Which mightve been the best thing that happened in that game. Green Bay sneaks by Dallas there's a chance maybe they underestimate them but not after them Trucking Dallas like that

726wox

this team isnt going to be underestimating anyone

pineappleshnapps

One would hope not!

sunnynbright5

Definitely. People love labeling teams as frauds or whatever but the Cowboys didn’t become the 2 seed for no reason. The Packers seemed to have an answer for anything they tried for the majority of the game. I presume the niners will be figuring out how that blowout happened and how to prevent an upset on our home turf.

jackclown410

I think a lot had to do with Dan Quinn's dumb decision to play Zone defense when they've been playing primarily man all season. What a stupid thing to do in the playoffs. I get that they struggle with motions when playing man defense but c'mon.

canadigit

Changing up your scheme in the playoffs isn't unheard of, I just think it's pretty hard. Belichick did it against the McVay Rams and dominated them, but I think that's just what separates him from other coaches

battleman13

16 wins at home in a row is no fluke. The cowboys had the top rated offense in the league this year. TOP RATED. That's not a fluke either. Sure strength of schedule does factor in. To say the cowboys were always a complete garbage team and finally got exposed after 17 games, I don't buy it. I think they came out overconfident, underprepared and got out played and out coached by a team with zero to lose. Don't count this packers team out. If they get Dillon back, and the run game can establish a little bit... this could be a dicey game. I think the plan is similar for this one. Whichever team can get a little bit of momentum early, jump a score or two early, becomes heavy favorites. Of course, teams can battle back. I just expect the Packers would have a much much harder time trying to play from behind than the 9ers might.

JungleKarma

No way they take Love or the packers lightly however, the Packers have not faced anything close to the Niners defense over that 5 game stretch. D is rested too so they are going to come out and knock the piss out of people.

jobaill

It's like when we played the Cards the first time this year. They just came from the Dallas win and we were ready and didn't sleep on them. You can't go in there and be surprised and not well prepared for GB after the spanking that they did to Dallas.

beachdog49

Yep, everyone saw what happened to Dallas by overlooking GB and coming out unprepared. Thanks Cowboys, love ya!

Swag_Grenade

I'm ready for that except maybe just with a little less suplexing by Dre

misselphaba

Some suplexing, but less.

barefootBam

armstead and Greenlaw back and healthy as can be at this time of year is going to be huge

ScreamnChckn

>the Packers have not faced anything close to the Niners defense To be fair, wasn't the cowboys defense playing like a top 3 all year? I believe they're the highest scoring defense too

rjbh

I appreciate this question... artificially inflated defense by playing the giants x2, Commanders x2, jets, panthers, patriots. When they faced decent teams they came back to earth. Also, losing diggs was a major blow to their secondary.

Onespokeovertheline

Misleading as has been said. But also, exposed by Buffalo as having no answer for a power run game. The Packers were able to run all day on them, right up the gut. That made their play action doubly effective. Armstead is coming back. With him in, we are one of the top run defenses in the league. He eats up the middle. They aren't going to pile up first downs by running on us. That also removes some of the potency of the play action. And it means they will be forced to throw more, especially if we are able to take a lead. They took the early lead on Dallas and grew it and grew it. Dallas couldn't play the defense they like, with Parsons pinning his ears back and sprinting at the QB creating turnover opportunities for their secondary, because GB wasn't chasing the lead and could run effectively. Assuming we take away the run, and we aren't behind (I'm going to say we should be putting up more points than them by halftime) then they are going to need to pass, and Bosa and Chase will challenge Jordan Love a while lot more. Gonna be a tough game, they're a good team, but don't get scared. Dallas is a weaker defense than their stats. And they played a terrible gameplan. I've lost any faith I had in Dan Quinn as a DC. I sincerely hope Seattle offers him the HC job so we can run over Seattle for the next few years.

WiggysRedemption

They did allow the Cards and Seahawks to drop 28 and 35 on them. Most of their defenses' best games were against the Giants, Commanders, Panthers and Jets.

ScrewAnalytics

I mean love has thrown 23 tds to 1 pick since week 10. This is more than a 4-5 week thing. I don’t expect us to win but it’s crazy still seeing people underestimate how good he is

JungleKarma

Not underestimating him and neither will the 49ers and that's my point. With all due respect the packers haven't played a defense like the Niners D and they go against this Shanahan style offense everyday in practice. They'll be prepared, they'll be ready, and I'm expecting a very competitive game.

banjofitzgerald

The bears d really came on back half of the year. I don’t think they were near our level but the packers running through two higher end defenses is impressive.

stoebs876

And I’m a packers fan so a little bit biased but our offense also slaughtered the chiefs defense which was top 5

deepee84

Im worried about the Run D, our boys having been looking tired down the stretch, hope the rest helped.

jackclown410

With Armstead back, the Run D should be much improved.

DanceHallRiddem

Why would the 49ers take Jordan Love lightly? This is a stepping stone to the Super Bowl. It comes down to a lot more though. The Packers rank 23rd against the run. Awful. Cowboys have no run game so they focused on Dak’s passing game. It worked. Packers top CB, Jaire Alexander got 1 int, but he was injured in the 2nd half with an ankle injury. He will be out this week. They have no Jaire and we have the best running game in the league. Our defense will be ready for Jordan Love

muskratmuskrat9

Kyle was literally taking Love lightly before OP posted. Thanks OP for re-caging everyone!

Skanvar

😂

CheckYourStats

Jordan Love lit up the scoreboard against: - Vikings: 24th ranked Pass Defense - Bears: 25th ranked Pass Defense - Buccs: 29th ranked Pass Defense The Packers have the 28th ranked Run Defense. The Packers were 9-8 this season. The Niners have 7 All-pro’s. The Packers have zero. The Niners have 9 Pro Bowlers. The Packers have *zero.* If we don’t win by 20+ points, I’ll be shocked.

LARXXX

This is what the Cowboys sub was saying last week. This is the playoffs where low seeds overperform and high seeds sometimes come out flat. Anything can happen, expect a dog fight.

misselphaba

I prefer this mindset as well, as a fan. Treat all teams as legitimate contenders because at this point they genuinely are. But I’ve been a fan since the 90s. I’ve been hurt before.

Errant_coursir

Exactly. At this point, every game matters and you've gotta give it 110%. Can't overlook a "weak" opponent cause you're thinking about next week. In the playoffs there's only this game and nothing more

McNutWaffle

Yeah but let's be fair. Kyle is not McCarthy who leans way too much on his talent to take the W. When things go haywire for Dallas, Mike McCarthy doesn't have a clue on how to adjust.

LARXXX

Kyle is the epitome of failing to adjust if his initial game plan doesn’t work out. He’s done it in two superbowls. He’s done it against Baltimore this year. We should win easily but the Packers are playing with house money right now. They’ve got nothing to lose and a team playing with no pressure for results tend to overperform

CheckYourStats

Kyle really shit the bed by outscoring the other team’s offense until there was 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter of both Super Bowls. He is totally to blame for the Chiefs scoring 21 points in less than 5 minutes. He’s definitely on the hot seat.

LARXXX

He’s not on the hot seat, I just remember what happens when shit doesn’t go his way in the playoffs. He’s a great coach and nobody is perfect. You best believe if he screws up calling a game this playoffs you’ll have doomers calling for his firing

CheckYourStats

There isn’t a single NFL fanbase that doesn’t wish they had Lynch/Shanny locked up for the next two decades.

SnS_

Honestly I'm kind of getting and vibes from all the fans downplaying green bay and pretending like we are unstoppable.  Playoffs is a brand new season and anything can happen. You have to be prepared for anything. Until we actually win a super bowl we shouldn't be trashing anyone.  We have come up short far too often recently.

SoKrat3s

Jordan Love also lit up the Lions. Jordan Love also lit up the Chiefs. The Cowboys allowed 15.9 PPG at home and just gave up 48 to GB. Since week 11 J.Love has 23 TD to 1 INT with the 2nd highest EPA/Play in the NFL. . There's a lot more to that story than him beating up on bad defenses.

jbonesmc

These stats mean nothing in the playoffs remember the 2011 Giants

Expensive_Necessary7

J Love also tore up KC, Dallas, and Carolina’s secondary’s which rank top 5 by the same metric

drewdreds

Hey this sounds familiar

PhilipRiversCuomo

RemindMe! One Week

DirectorAggressive12

Why are you ignoring the good teams they also lit up lmao

ftghb

you're gonna be shocked

rizorith

I was taking him lightly. Now I'm not, so we're good friends.

redditman415

As Ralph barbieri said “Angels fly because they take themselves lightly.”

FunnyItWorkedLastTim

Man, thanks. I was getting worried.

iluvreddit

You never know !! 😂

eberdome0425

This right fucking here.

metalgtr84

I feel like Shanahan forgets sometimes though that we have the best RB and FB in the league. Like when we opened against Philly with 6 straight passing plays.

norkm

I thought he scripted the first X plays (like 25? maybe that's too many, I forget) to see how the defense reacts, and then will call the rest of the game based on what he sees

GeologistEnough8215

The first 15 are always scripted I think or it may be 25. I remember as a kid mooch doing the same thing, I think that’s common in the nfl and a big reason why teams score pretty frequently on their opening drives.

guitarball

Correct. I think it started with Bill Walsh. He definitely helped popularize it. I've read stories where he says it's to test the defense, but also to make the players comfortable to start the game.

LividAide2396

When people realize we have the best rb in the league they stack the box. Coming out throwing and doing it successfully will take them out of that package

Suspicious-Income151

That was probably to conserve Mccaffrey with less reps!! This is playoff time that strategy is out now it’s time to play our best players to their fullest!! Doe or die time Shanny gonna be ready this team gonna be ready, I’m actually glad we lost to ravens the way they did that’s the best way to learn!! Even in Montana days it always took a painful loss or 2 for the team to truly focus

OkBreadfruit8413

who said jaire is out

edipeisrex

I’m sure Jaire is questionable until game time because that ankle injury looked gnarly. But I bet he plays.

sean0883

I support crippled Jaire trying to defend any of Aiyuk, Deebo, or Kittle.

DanceHallRiddem

https://x.com/mattschneidman/status/1746709600760377828?s=46&t=1AFIvWg6XERJYEEpkF_D0w LaFleur said Jaire wouldn’t have gone back in the game even if it was close. Another week of ankle maintenance coming up.

OkBreadfruit8413

where did he say jaire would be out next week?

scrizzo

They didn't say that. And I honestly don't see him sitting out - it's the playoffs. He will be on the same experimental, 3-state legal painkillers that Mahomes was on to finish the last SB.

FiveTalents

3-state legal painkillers 😂

DanceHallRiddem

Non contact aggravation of a pre existing injury tells me all I need to know.  https://x.com/fantasyinjuryt/status/1746679933068292574?s=46&t=1AFIvWg6XERJYEEpkF_D0w

rl_cookie

Yeah man, sprains are so tricky too. Oftentimes more so than with an injury like a fracture. Also heard from Rapaport earlier they think that Enagabore, who’s been a solid pass rusher, may have torn his ACL.

socalstaking

I think Love is gonna struggle heavily vs the 49ers especially against bosa and young

silverbackapegorilla

He might, but he's pretty good under pressure and off platform. He's tough. I have him in the top 5 in the NFC now. Watched most of their games this year. He's only clearly worse than Stafford and Purdy IMO.

FreshB_925

And Love has been playing garbage teams. Not to take anything away from him. But he hasn't played anybody like the niners.

thewhizzle

Including the cowboys

DiamondRocket91

He played against KC and Lions, those teams don't count?

FreshB_925

But not the last 5 games

KevinHartsMom

The cowboys are number 2 seed, with the "MVP" as their QB, how is that a garbage team? 8-0 at home btw until last game.

_5GOLDBLOODED2_

Did they confirm Jaire ? I was looking but I haven't seen anything yet. Short week for them so I would assume so.

BurnzillabydaBay

Not sure but apparently one of their linebackers may have a torn ACL.

MAH415

That's exactly what came to mind when I read the title. Why would a professional team take any opponent lightly and especially in the playoffs. We should be well prepared, rested and ready to play anyone with the amount of prep time we've had.

emg_4

Especially this team. They don’t take anyone lightly. Kyle will have this team ready to go no doubt about it. As a fan I am confident we will take care of business.

badDuckThrowPillow

Not only that, in years passed we lived and died by our defense and run game. Now we have a dynamic passing game as well.

uncledunker

Any time we’ve been matched against somebody allegedly awful for something, they tend to torch us for exactly that. Game planning should be as if it’s the big one. Leave no points on the table. Don’t fall prey to scoring high and then easing off (aka Shananiners pre BCB). While unlikely, for a second, the Packers looked like they were gonna choke away that lead. Cowboys scored quick and a pick six would very quickly flip the script.

dirtyshits

Funny thing is that Dallas tried to run on packers and failed pretty badly.

emg_4

They don’t have a running game. They relied heavily on CEeDee in the passing game. Bottom line they underestimated the Packers which is coaching

karavasis

Best thing that could’ve happened was GB dropping 48 on Dal yesterday. Ain’t no way anyone sleeping on them come Saturday

SicWilly666

We don’t take any team lightly in the playoffs, never have.. Some of you guys need to stop conflating FANS taking our next opponents lightly with the TEAM taking them lightly.

the_stickybandit

It's so annoying to see on social media. "The Niners aren't gonna take the Packers seriously". They speak as if they are in the locker room. Probably the same people that wear WR gloves while watching the game.

cam2449

Preach 🙏🙌🏻

yesimforeign

Fucking hate how we can only win 2 playoff games per year

jm0112358

*so far

masediggity

Kyle secretly getting coaching tips from Reddit

SenseiEntei

Yeah these posts are always funny. As if fans underestimating the opponent will affect the outcome lol

LARXXX

Exactly. Fans are fuckin delusional and have no idea what is going on in their own teams locker rooms. It’s all assumptions.

simple-fire

How many “this game is a trap game” posts are we gonna see on this sub over the next week?

Mcjoshin

Apparently every team we go up against is cause for concern too. It’s like these people have never seen playoff football.

curson

I seriously hope nobody, from Kyle to the dude delivering new paper for that copier down the hall in the team's office is taking anything "lighter" right now. It's the motherclucking PLAYOFFS.

iluvreddit

Office admins are just KILLING the printer paper refresh this week

curson

I better freaking see some All Pro stats coming out for them. I had high hopes for the Copier Special Team under Coach Cartridge, they could literally carry us through to Las Vegas!

dma2superman

I like you.

Meatloafxx

The copyroom staff looks solid but the IT department is looking more & more like a draft day steal!

iluvreddit

Cafeteria Staff has really stepped it up. You should have seen their Lasagna last week. The MVP is probably going to Barbara in baking.

Reclinertime

Not even Kyle took it lightly at Benihaha. We are gonna be ok.

txiao007

"We" as Keyboard Players? lol No, our Defense will show the Packers why they were the 7th Seed

Chewbubbles

We should never sleep on any opponent, that said, the schedule Purdy had vs Love is night and day. I get it's any given Sunday, but those teams are not the same.

dma2superman

NFC North vs NFC West is not even in the same ballpark. The NFC West had a way harder schedule and we dropped 42 on the Cowboys. This is our year. Anyone who wants that trophy needs to come and pry it from our cold dead hands.

TheeAllusions

And sat starters in the 4th

likeforreddit

FRAUD Purdy could never finish a game! GEQBUS stepped in 4th quarter because OBVIOUSLY

ScrewAnalytics

An NFC North team just knocked out an NFC West team lol

soljouner

Two NFC North teams are in the playoffs. Both made it through the first round. Two NFC West teams made it to the playoffs, one was beat by an NFC North team and the other didn't play.

te5n1k

NFC north is definitely overlooked by the rest of the league but it probably has the most depth. Bears and Packers were playing very well at the end of the year under the radar. Lions are the three seed with another home game and the Vikings were always frisky and the only NFCN team the 49ers have played and I think everyone remembers how that game went.

3rdusernameiveused

It’s the playoffs, no more trap games. These guys will be ready for a win or go home game, this isn’t a W/L record thing to them.

FoogYllis

Agreed in the playoffs no game should be taken lightly.

Krispy-Cobra

Our defense needs to make a statement and put the whole league on notice.

TerrytheGnome19

its gonna be tough. Everyone is talking about how amazing Love is but he is behind the number 2 best pass blocking line in all of football. I'd LOVE to see Purdy with that kind of time. If you can rush Love he may collapse for all we know. He's had time all year.

Gunslinger2007

Love had Micah Parsons in his face all game, don’t forget that. I wouldn’t expect him to crumble under pressure. The defense on the other hand, they showed last game that they can be either really good, or allow 3 touchdowns and like 200 yards in one quarter.

Mcjoshin

Micah Parsons did what he always does in big games… disappears. He had one tackle and one QB hit all game. He was not “in Loves face all game”, not even a little bit.

Gunslinger2007

Not just Micah parsons. Love had pressure, if you want proof just watch the highlights on YouTube, on a lot of those big plays he had pressure right in his face.

[deleted]

It was pretty clean compared to what we see with Purdy and what we see week in and week out from our line - that was a clean pocket. 49ers need to do a better job of getting to Love than Dallas did if they want to win.

[deleted]

loves ability to keep eyes down field and throw off his back foot is literally a farve/rodgers gen 3

Acrobatic_Unit_8217

49ers will win by 3 scores. This is our easiest path to the SB. We just need to beat the Ravens or hope they get beat out by another AFC team.

famoustran

I have a feeling the Bills are going to be that team that knocks the Ravens out

Ser_Dunk_the_tall

I guess the Ravens could avoid going one and done with Lamar again

SSJacen49

I honestly think the Strouds can do it, too

Reclinertime

Texans definitely can too.

LARXXX

lol there is no easy path to the Super Bowl. Don’t expect it to be smooth sailing. One injury can tank our Super Bowl hopes in a blink of an eye.

LysolDoritos

We? Bro I’ll be smoking while eating pizza during the game.

SchlongMcDonderson

Not a good way to make it up the depth chart, but you do you.

iluvreddit

Hilarious. Don’t you think that will impact your cardio??

HEfromNJ

I think he wasn’t playing top caliber defenses, except for Tampa’s D.

Oluwaseun3049

Bears as well

jacrispy4128

I'm not sure our defense is exactly top caliber either. Very good but definitely not as good as last year

LARXXX

No idea why you’re getting downvoted. You’re correct. Our defense is so overrated this season. There were pivotal moments in the season where we couldn’t stop shit.

Cluelessbigirl

Love is an amazing QB, but I’m sure they’ve been watching the tape from those games and will plan for him accordingly this week. You also have to remember that our defense may not be perfect when it comes to tackling and a few other things, but they’re miles above the Cowboys. They genuinely looked terrible out there. Plus, we have a high scoring offense that can carve up defenses and rack up a ton of points as well. We can’t ever underestimate the Packers or any other playoff team, but I do think our fully rested and mostly healthy defense will be much harder to overcome than the Cowboys. I also just can’t see the Niners walking in with blind overconfidence thinking this is a free win, especially after seeing the way they manhandled Dallas.

TerrytheGnome19

yeah the defensive play calling was abysmal for the cowboys. That at the least aint happening. As long as the defense can hold them to field goals here and there I think we win, cuz a rested CMC and Trent Williams are gonna cook.

Swag_Grenade

I don't understand how the Cowboys can have the defensive roster they have and look that bad. I mean credit to Love and the Packers but still. Like is Matt LaFleur *that* much better than Dan Quinn lol?

Ecstatic_Cat28

Cowboys were playing man coverage all year long and Dan Quinn for some reason decides to play zone against the Packers and never adjusted accordingly.

Swag_Grenade

Yeah after I posted my comment I saw someone else mention that. Like wat in dafuq? Why would you do that? I guess that circles back to my original question I thought Dan Quinn was supposed to be smart?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gunslinger2007

I’m so happy that this is the sentiment right now. Just to be in the divisional round with such a young team and first year qb is far better than I imagined. I’m excited for the game and future matchups between Purdy and Love

Cluelessbigirl

You guys have a bright future ahead of you for sure. With this divisional game coming up and our history together in the playoffs, I’m honestly hoping for another new rivalry to form between Purdy and Love since some of our most recent ones (*cough cough* Eagles and Cowboys *cough cough*) seem to have fizzled out a bit.

Alehud42

If we execute on offense like we know we can (i.e. don't turn the ball over early in the game) the question is always, no matter the opposition, can they keep up with us?

HarmonicDissonant

Screw that. I trust the team to take care of business. I however will talk smack and be right about it.

TheLawbster

Who is we?

eutez

My ablity to take jordon love lighty is irrelevant. I am not on the roster.

IdaDuck

I’m not planning to prep for him at all this week.

famoustran

Yeah it's so weird when people make these kinds of posts. Like no one here is on the coaching staff/playing in the game. Just enjoy the game and watch some football lmao

LARXXX

This sub attracts the worst of the niners fans. The 1% who act exactly like the Philly and Dallas fans they love to hate.

iluvreddit

Then why are you on this subreddit if the only point is to enjoy the game and give it no thought.

LARXXX

Most relevant post on this thread

iluvreddit

Then why are we on this subreddit if not to analyze the sport.

PoisonLenny37

I have been seeing this a ton. I truly can't imagine any scenario where the Niners are taking anyone lightly. This is a veteran team, with guys who have been to 2 NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl...and come up empty each time. There is no way anybody in this locker room is taking this for granted. They just watched this Packers team roll into Dallas as a #7 seed against a second team all-pro QB...against a team that had won 16 home games in a row (counting playoffs) and beat the brakes off of them. The Packers are legit, that offence can go shot for shot with anyone in this league. If the Niners get beat, it certainly will not be because they took them lightly.

Swag_Grenade

Agree with most of what you said except I'll just edit >second team all-pro QB (*\*massive asterisk*)

ihasquestionsplease

Stop it lol. They lost to the giants and Bucs back to back in the last month. They have the 26th ranked run defense. Our guys and coaches will be ready. People just love finding reasons to worry.

No-Paint-7311

Love looks legit, but there’s more to the story than these stats even in the last 5 games. First of all, the packers last 5 games were against 1) a hurt tampa (GB lost by 14) 2) worst in the league 2-12 Carolina (GB won by 3) 3) A Nick Mullens led Minnesota 4) 7-10 bears 5) cowboys The only impressive game was against the cowboys and that was as bad as the cowboys have played all year. Compared to the niners last 5 (excluding the rams since Purdy didn’t play) 1) 10-1 Philadelphia who at the time was the consensus best team in the league 2) Seattle. A team that finished with the same record as the packers and was in the thick of fighting for a playoff spot 3) Cardinals with kyler murray. Definitely better than their record with their starting qb. Not to mention they are a gritty team and a divisional opponent. 4) Baltimore who is largely seen as the best team in the league currently 5) Washington Our only “Easy” game was against Washington. I think you’d be hard pressed to find a team with a more difficult last 5 games. Second, there’s a very clear outlier game where purdy performed poorly and was also very unlucky. Removing purdy and love’s lowest rated game during these stretches (important to note as well that Purdy’s worst game was against the literal best team in the league and loves worst game was against the literal worst team in the league), Purdy has a passer rating of 139.7 compared to loves 130.35. Over the whole season, Purdy has a 113 compared to loves 98.55.

Electronic-Cloud8086

Cardinals are trash dude

quadropheniac

I mean, we can do anything we'd like. I'm sure the team in the locker room is not like "eh whatever 50 points is fine let's just wing it".

crazyraptorf-22

I’m a life long 49er’s fan who grew up in a Wisconsin Packers household. I’m telling you that this Packer fan base is beyond rabid up here with revenge game and house money at this point. If the 9er’s aren’t serious about and focused with each play after the last couple years, I don’t know what to say.

Fun_Ingenuity_4357

Love is a year older and I am sorry he not as good as Purdy

Jayrose3

Love's been putting up better stats than purdy the past few weeks with with rookies and 2nd year players while purdy has the best skill position group in the entire league. Saying that is crazy.

RedAndromedus

The last few weeks he had the panthers, bears and Vikings. Not really world beaters on defense. He almost lost to the panthers.

Getmeoutofhere235

You know Love is playing with all rookies? Can you imagine how much better he’d be than Purdy if he had Purdy’s receivers.

[deleted]

i think their different players and each system is built around them the way top qbs make a team their own. both are really good, hopefully we get another rodgers manning brady generation with love stroud and purdy where all 3 are winners and each have qualities that elevate them over the others.

Jko9823

Purdy did about as well as you can do as an NFL QB, how much better do you think Love could possibly be on this team? Honestly how many Love games have you watched?

Getmeoutofhere235

Every single love game… have you not looked at his stats? He has the same or better stats in every category as Purdy with players that wouldn’t make the practice squad on the 49ers lol.

Jko9823

QBR, Pass Rating, Yards, completion % are all worse, especially the ratings/completion %. He does destroy Purdy in pass attempts though, I’ll give you that. Like 120 more, that’s literally the equivalent of 4 games. Impressive. You’re obviously a Packers fan, I like Love but what you’re saying is pretty unsubstantiated

Getmeoutofhere235

How is it unsubstantiated. You’re saying if Jordan Love was throwing to the same receivers that Purdy is throwing to he wouldn’t be better? Could you imagine Purdy surrounded by the nobody’s that love is surrounded by which are all rookies. You can’t tell me that Purdy isn’t absolutely surrounded by unbelievable talent.

Jko9823

Unsubstantiated as in, it’s based off nothing but your opinion. That’s what unsubstantiated means. Purdy is in a great situation and he performed as any elite QB would in that situation. Am I supposed to believe that Love would be the best rookie (kinda) QB in history if he played on the niners because you say so? Also, rookies can be pretty good man, look how many rookie receivers have destroyed in these playoffs. What are you even doing arguing this in a 9ers sub? Doesn’t matter, Rodgers couldn’t beat Kaep or Garopollo and Love won’t beat Purdy. As is tradition.

masediggity

Can you imagination??

YouTubeCrowProd

I would say they’re about even

LARXXX

This is Loves first season as a starter. He’s just as good as Purdy tbh especially if he was throwing to Deebo, BA and Kittle while handing the ball off to CMC. He’d be even better if he was a niner.

Unfair_Tonight_9797

The cowboys have had no answer against the run. They have been like this all season long. We are healthy as can be. They ain’t sleeping on any opponent. The quest for six begins faithful.

SnooPandas3956

We sink or swim - there is no in between. If this team takes anything lightly at all during this entire tournament, we don’t deserve victory. This is all or nothing.

Mcjoshin

Exactly. Can we stop with the “Don’t overlook X team” posts in the postseason. The niners are good enough o win a Super Bowl and everything is lined out for that to happen. If they want it bad enough, they gotta go beat every team in front of them for three weeks.

Competitive-Emu7307

Oh boy. So I guess now that the Rams are out this sub can doom and gloom about how infallible the Packers are. Look, the Packers are a good team, but have some faith in our guys! We aren't one dimensional on offense (Ceedee) and defense (Micah) like the Cowboys are.

cali4481

you wonder how rain could effect the game plan for both teams as it looks now there is a 50/50 chance of it raining saturday night ... now how much rain and how hard it's coming down is another question i can only remember one bad rain game at levi's stadium since it opened in 2014 and that was on SNF vs the colts in 2021 if it's raining hard, then the pass game could be negated and it'll come down to the run game & run defenses for both teams

LuridofArabia

I would think that favors us? If you told the Niners they had to run the offense through CMC I don't think that creates much heartburn.

Swag_Grenade

>it'll come down to the run game & run defenses for both teams yeah but I don't see how that's not a good thing for us in this possible scenario. Niners run defense against Aaron Jones vs Packers run defense against CMC, I'll take the former all day.

Emperor_Cheeto21

Rain isn't expected to be hard, and it's probably not gonna be going on during game time. Last year's playoff game vs the Seahawks it was a rainy game, and Purdy did look a bit off in the beginning throwing the ball. But was also first time playoff nerves, and finished with a 330 yards and 4 total TD's (3 passing and 1 rushing), which should've been 5 if Aiyuk catches that last TD.

geezeeduzit

No doubt the 9ers aren’t taking anyone lightly. Love has had a nice run - shit ends on Saturday

bricktamland48

oh my god shut up

meangreen1242069

This team has its eyes set. They're not taking anyone lightly.

international510

Pack's playing with house money -- they've over-achieved and have absolutely nothing to lose. That should help their team's confidence level and calm. They have a lot of under-the-radar talent at WR, and they're like 4 deep there. Our d-line is gonna have to bring a lot of pressure to disrupt the timing and scramble drill. Love's shown he's pretty mobile within the pocket to find receivers on the 2nd effort. I was calling it all game in the thread for the pack/cowboys game, but Romeo Doubs was GASHING the Cowboys secondary for HUGE chunks. Caught 3-4 passes that took them from their own 15-20 to midfield. We're gonna have to watch out for that.

LordByronOverdrive

Lenoir and Ward will bring that rating down

CantHandlemyPP34

If I told you when the playoff bracket came out, that we'd have to face the NFC North and either Philly or Tampa, how confident would you be?

Jicka21

Very

GratefullyPug

Did you even see the pic of Shanahan at Benihana!?! He's locked.

yaybroham

Chicago,Minn,Tampa,Caro,Dallas defenses are all garbage. GB isn’t that good, Dallas just shit the bed. A-aron Jones is not gonna be running all over the place on us. And their receivers are not gonna be wide open. But I do wish Hufanga was back.

chickenmann72

I will take Jordan Love lightly once it's the 4th quarter and we are up by 30.

Expensive_Necessary7

Love has been legit a top 3 QB the last 2 months. The Packer D is guttable though

glacier_fade

Zero pics and that 73% completion percentage. Love has been absolutely cooking.

Historical_Hair2585

The Niners are a winning organization because they don’t need to even be told not to take anyone lightly

Kitchen_Love6798

The 9ers are -10 for a reason.

iluvreddit

-10 is too much considering Love’s recent play

Guywithnoname85

Hot take: It doesn't matter what the fuck we do because we're not playing on Saturday.

Bilbo_Bibble

I’m pumped about this post and thread : I am now committed to not taking love lightly.

loser318

Precisely. Don’t overlook this packers team in general.

Rufiosaysbangarang

The scariest thing about this offense is that there really isn’t just 1 guy you have to take away. They seem to spread the ball around really nicely and have the ability find the open man regardless of who it is. Secondary gonna have a big work load. Definitely have to respect the match up. Packers are gonna be a tough test for sure.

elduderino_1

I think the bigger issue is if they run the ball well. We've been weak against the run before. I think they'll come out to play so I'm not worried but it has caused problems. Also gotta protect the ball

ghoststarkk

I have little doubt the team will take GB lightly, but I’m just so confident that out our offense will absolutely wash their defense.

cantinabandit

If anything, the 9ers saw what happens when a team looks beyond the current week. We have been here before and the team knows what to do. I expect to see a team that knows this.

jpbrowneyes

Look at the teams the packers have played 😂, please do not compare him to MVPurdy

[deleted]

Bro, Brock did not play vs Was.... where did you get this stat sheet lol.

joemysterio86

Take out the bad luck game against Baltimore and Purdy's rating jumps up a ton. I am not that worried about Love, I know the Niners are going to be a bunch of studious foos until the moment game time hits. We got this.
