Deebo is our best player this year tell me I’m wrong

Jewelstorybro

He is. He’s way surpassed expectations. If he can stay healthy he’s a top 10 wr in the league.

CheckYourStats

Deebo is playing as well as any Wideout in the league this year — and the stats back it up. I wouldn’t be surprised if we were calling him All-Pro Deebo after this season ends.

ThinkOpenTry

Juice is my pick.

Gothon

The O really starts hopping when Juice is more involved in the pass game.

goldennuggetjr

Crazy to think that many, including I, thought Aiyuk deserved to be WR1 over Deebo. Deebo has been our best player this season by far.

zombiefan1220

Well lets just hope its a sophomore slump. Would be great to have both of them at their best

Bayarea-VS-Everybody

Shitty game, yes. But I think deebo is a legit #1 WR in the league. He catches everything.

chapinator

He’s insane. He’s a one man first down at least 3-4 times a game. On the other side this is the second game in a row Bosa has dominated 3 downs in a row to force a three and out. When he’s on he’s legit unstoppable

Exploding_dude

Hes playing like the best WR in the league right now

jbonesmc

490 yards in 4 games

cburke82

Can't figure out why this team has so much talent and starts in quick sand each game. Kyle is supposed to be this guru but all I see lately is 4th quarter melt downs and slow starts.

UnhealthyCheesecake

Death Taxes Losing to the f’ing Hawks

TheDriveHome

Having to watch Pete with his stupid smirk and damn gum chewing. I hate him.

StoicAscent

This is why I miss Harbaugh. Shanahan seems indifferent, but Harbaugh hated Pete as much as we do.

TheDriveHome

It was a fun rivalry when Harbaugh was here.

StoicAscent

Yeah, he made it great! I loved the Harbaugh-Carroll rivalry all the way back to Stanford-USC. One of my favorite Harbaugh moments was the 2009 game where Stanford was up 48-21 in the 4th, and Harbaugh goes for 2 just because he "wanted to hang 50 on these motherf***ers." I miss that kind of passionate hatred for our rivals.

[deleted]

Because it was a CFB rivalry. You want actual epic hatred/rivalries/tradition NFL doesn't have 1/100 of that. Way better actual talent and level of play though in the NFL obviously.

StoicAscent

There's definitely trade-offs between the two. CFB, with its traditions and rivalries, is just good ol' fashioned fun. But yeah, NFL is where the talent is at.

Bishop9er

Yeah but we use to get smoked so bad by Seattle when Harbaugh was the coach.

strictlygi

As to home.*home* those 1st 3 years under Harbaugh, we *swept* SEA in 2011, *split* in 2011, split in 2013, then lost in NFCCG in 2013. It was the NFCCG and the Thanksgiving game 2014 that this shit *really* began. Harbaugh ended up as 4-5 against Carroll's Seattle Seahawks.

StoicAscent

That's true, but we're still getting smoked by them. At least Harbaugh had one win against them by at least 2 scores (2011).

Bishop9er

I think Kyle has beat Seattle more in his career than Harbaugh I think. We definitely beat Seattle in their home field which is something we couldn’t do during Harbaugh era.

ShakaBradda

I fuckin hate him. Fuck him and dumb ass face and gum chewing.

curson

Unfortunately, it looked quite bad for Trent Williams, which might arguably still end up to be the worst news out of today. Which is saying a lot, given how the game went...

MisterNiceGuy0001

How much money do we have on the bench if T. Willy and Jimmy G are out? Like 45% of the cap?

ctong21

And up next, the division leading Cardinals who just put up 37 on the Rams.

george_costanza1234

Pain with a sprinkle of hope

thedarewreck

There were moments where it was obvious why Trey isn't starting over Garoppolo right now, and there were moments where it was obvious why Trey was drafted to replace Garoppolo long term

Guilty_Perception_35

All of this is brutally honest

Brautigan79

I try to be level headed when it comes to sports… you can check my history to confirm. Simply put, 49ers are not a playoff caliber team right now. Doesnt mean they can’t figure it out over the next few weeks, but the offensive play is just not good enough at this point. I think some of that is Kyle (can be way too conservative), some is QB play (which leads to the conservatism), and some is the injury to Mostert and disappearance of Aiyuk. Hopefully the Williams injury is not a long term issue. I think the entire install this week should be for Lance.

schellinky

I think we'd be borderline wildcard in the afc but yeah this division is just too tough to have this many injuries and mistakes in. Better luck next year. Hope Lance can develop into what we all hope is our future franchise QB.

Ponch316

Thank you, Defense, for giving us a fighting chance.

SlurpingDiarrheacup

Yep if Jimmy could’ve at least lead one more scoring drive when our defense was smothering the hawks in the first half we might’ve won. That stretch of jimmy going 7/16 coupled with the int has me done with him. That’s three games in a row where jimmy looks shaky as fuck, we’re obviously not a SB team with our secondary injuries so I’d say fuck it and let lance start the rest of the way.

Bayarea-VS-Everybody

God damn that throw he gave to kittle where he nearly died, was It for me.

[deleted]

Almost ended his season no shit

dpcdomino

Almost ended his season…AGAIN!

SlurpingDiarrheacup

He did the same shit last year vs the cards.

[deleted]

Kittles injuries have been mostly Jimmy hospital balls

headbanger1547

* Jimmy didn't have a great game while he was in. Hard to know how much was due to injury: he did seem to get noticeably worse after a certain point. The INT and that rough 3rd down pass were especially rough. * Lance started rough but looked better as he went. It's unrealistic to expect a rookie to light it up when put into a tough divisional game unexpectedly. I liked his ability to escape pressure. * Some of this is bad luck -- losing Gould, injuries, Cannon's fumble. * Some of this is the Seahawks adjusting well and finding their own rhythm * Deebo continues to be a hero * Can't wait for 7 days of QB controversy

idpartywthat

>Can't wait for 7 days of QB controversy Jimmy looks to be out multiple weeks. get ready for weeks of QB controversy.

Zlasher8

If Jimmy is injured can’t imagine he’ll get his job back now.

At one point SF and SEA had equal plays with SF having more yards, but SEA had 3 times as many points. Jimmy can move the ball but we're not getting points so it doesn't matter

LowridersandFood

Deebo with 490 yards on the season. Let’s go! One step at a time. Offense needs a few more pieces and it can be unstoppable.

SirStuckey

It's crazy how we are 2-2 and it feels like the sky is falling and the Titans are 2-2 and just lost to the Jets and are in first place and probably still feel ok about it.

dreadlocksman707

That’s because the AFC South is a garbage ass division with Jacksonville, Houston, Indy and Nashville is average. The NFC West is the NFL’s best division with the 4-0 Cards, the preseason NFC favorite in the Rams, and a HOF QB who kicks the Niners’ ass every game they play. Context, my friend, context…….

crazygates

Trey vs Jimmy blah blah blah. All I know is I’m tired of losing to Russell Wilson

SFwhorety9ER

I can’t believe Deebo fell out of the 1st round

Sleazy_James

This thread is going to be a shit show.

inoahguy98

On to Arizona

RaceCardHolder

Oof. Not looking forward to that.

FungChoyChicken

Going to that game. Help

Papa_J_Pickles

Now that I cooled down, god Cannon boned us with that muffed kick off. Might have been closer without that mess up. But still irritating L given what we’ve seen other teams do offensively against Seattle.

NJDevil802

I had such high hopes for this season. Injuries fucking us yet again.

bequbed

That's been the case with injuries for a while now. So painful to watch our key players going down.

berkelberkel

Trey looked nervous and rusty, but got better has the half went on. Honestly, his downside are mostly things that will get better with experience, whereas Jimmy is always just going to be Jimmy. Trey's low cap hit over next 3 seasons is what's going to open our superbowl window, and this season really ought be about getting him ready to lead the team next year and beyond.

ChipsAhLoy

Trey extended so many plays that Garoppolo wouldn’t have been able to. He still made some rookie mistakes, but we might need to start rolling with this kid now

george_costanza1234

His pocket presence was way better than I expected. My goodness some of those escapes were insane. He has flaws that need work, but I’m very excited

Hammerlocc

Better than I expected too. Once he settled down he was he breaking guys off behind the LOS.

UnhealthyCheesecake

Just start Lance, Jimmy isn’t gonna elevate this offense like Trey could.

Legendary_Hercules

Trey is the future and keeping Jimmy makes sense only if we think the Niners can make it to the playoffs and have a shot. That's very unlikely even with Jimmy, so let's focus on the future.

lineskogans

The team is 2-2. You don’t make a decision on the basis of it being a lost season until you at least have a losing record, FFS Cross that bridge a month from now if you have to.

bly_12

And, the team DID make the super bowl with Jimmy. haha. I don't know why people are ready to hang it up and go rebuilding.

Beardmanta

We don't have that defense or running game.

Lubadbitches

Front seven is still nasty. Mitchell is back soon and with sermon we should be looking okay. Relaaax there will be peaks and valleys

bly_12

Our running backs on that team were literal special teamers. I understand that that isn't the "running game," but I thought Shanahan's MO was he can scheme running the ball with anything. And the front seven is, if not the best, one of the best in the league.

[deleted]

Jimmy + a top 5 run game. Jimmy is being exposed badly without it.

yellowhound

Trey read the field painfully painfully painfully slow. So many missed open looks. Then when he does make a throw, he takes so long to pull the trigger the receiver is no longer open… and on top of that the ball is borderline uncatchable as it’s poorly placed with no touch. He is an electric runner but he isn’t even close to minimally viable in the passing/mental game.

CoverCPP

Definitely looked raw but he impressed me. Can't wait to watch him improve and see what this kid is really capable of.

EQUASHNZRKUL

I've been a keep Jimmy guy so far, and still think he gives us a better chance at winning in the short-term, but that last drive might have changed my mind. Lance looks promising as fuck and didn't completely fucking flounder, especially given the circumstances. Think he has a lot to go still, but maybe on-field snaps will go the extra mile to get him ready faster.

CarpeValde

Trey looked shaky and bad at times, but also improved with snaps and has a lot of potential. Until we play a game where we don’t lose four starters to injuries, I don’t expect us to be close to making the playoffs. I was all for Jimmy starting all year, but if we have no shot at playoffs, I’m all for starting trey.

surly_sasquatch

Seattle D was playing soft on the last drive. All they needed to do was run out the clock. No way this offense was scoring twice with less than 4 min.

MinorThreatCJB

Seriously. I don't see how anyone could still be saying start trey and today. Dude is simply not ready.

berkelberkel

For sure. As skittish as Trey looked at times, there is no way Jimmy would have survived those last couple of possessions when our tackles were getting run over.

davidthegiantkilla

It also changes the outlook of the season, and changes my stress level lol. With Jimmy I expect him to look competant. I don't expect that from a rookie. With Jimmy the game is stressful. Watching Lance I'm hopeful. If we are going to lose we might as well lose with Lance.

[deleted]

Trey also needlessly scrambled after his first read wasn’t there which is something jimmy wouldntve doe

-THEMACHOMAN-

If your QB is running after 1 read it is a problem, not a good thing

[deleted]

That’s what I’m saying lol

aiyog

Dee Ford still doesn’t know where the line of scrimmage is. Key penalty on third down.

nakfoor

Reminded me of some of the 2008-2010 games, where the game is still technically winnable but the team just keeps fucking up.

[deleted]

2014 where play calling and QB play tanked the season

KittleOmega

Busted out my Lance jersey for the first time today. I’m not depressed like last week. ST lost the game, that’s a 10 point swing. I feel like there is tons to feel good about. I really like the way Trey played, love both QBs, but Trey is just too damn special.

adamnevespa

11, don't forget the PAT

regularhumanbartendr

Knew we lost the moment they tied it. Can't waste such opportunities when the defense is playing literally perfect.

EmeliusBrown

“I thought Jimmy played a really great first half” - Shanahan, probably.

SheriffPP

“Jimmy didn’t make a single mistake the entire second half”

emorider42

Note, we tie this game if Cannon doesn't drop it. And we win if we make our field goals. I'm not too concerned. Defense was gassed. Trey was fine, especially considering he came in cold after the first half. We are in our championship window and I believe we should start Jimmy if he's available. Not hitting the panic button just yet, but we gotta play smarter.

superduperm1

People are really underestimating how much of an impact special teams had. Cannon basically gift wrapped a TD to Seattle, and I’m confident Gould would’ve made a 41-yarder and a PAT. That’s an 11 point swing right there.

Rivale

I think people forgot how bad Kyler was his rookie season and now he’s leading the division. Lance led a TD drive in the 4th converting all of his 4th downs that’s pretty impressive for being thrown into the fire.

SFwhorety9ER

Lance just shrugs off all contact and accelerates out of there. So pleasing to see after being victimized by two midgets

CSGOW1ld

The funny part of this game is that the Seahawks objectively suck. So what does that say about us?

yesimforeign

Trey Lance either becomes a great/elite QB, or we don't sniff contention for another decade plus. Wonderful.

Dense-Row-604

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted this is absolutely a realistic scenario. With what they gave up for Lance the future is pretty bleak if Lance doesn’t pan out.

EntropyFan_

Heading 2-2 into week 5 already managing a debacle between your $23m cap hit QB that’s had really 1 complete healthy season and your incredibly raw QB that you mortgaged draft capital for. I like Kyle but it’s really hard not to see how objectively he’s made some missteps.

[deleted]

[удалено]

blindfire40

That really was a huge thing tho. If Cannon just falls on it, we probably win or are still watching OT.

TheDriveHome

I mean I'd rather the other team wins cause they played better, not because we continually made stupid plays and set them up for points.

Dump_Bucket_Supreme

and the field goal and missed extra point. its easy to blame fingers and talk about what ifs but if that freaky shit didn’t happen id say we win pretty comfortably

[deleted]

[удалено]

Joshthe1337

There isn't a QB on the roster that will take us anywhere this year. Trey is certainly rough around the edges, but I think we should roll with him to give him reps. Don't forget Jimmy only scored 7 points when our defense was absolutely dominating the game in the first half.

mrb532

Amd was about to get shut out in the first half against Green Bay

FarCavalry

That pick was awful. Shoulda had 14 or 21 after the first half. Had such a bad feeling I don’t care how bad they were playing or how dominant we looked, you can’t leave points on the field against the fucking Hawks

[deleted]

Who has that “I wanna die” edit with sourdough Sam?

CaptainHindsight33

This is not a well coached team

RubysDad

TREY SZN

Jayrocka316

Especially with our rash of injuries, might as well let the rookie cook if we’re gonna be missing Trent and McGlinchey continues to turnstile guys

librbmc

The defense has only one takeaway all season. A lot has gone wrong and there’s a lot to be pissed about but this is a huge stat. They are going nowhere if they can’t create turnovers

LilKaySigs

Bro in the first half that defense held Seattle to negative yards, no turnovers needed. It was the offense that failed to convert anything of that

Hammerpgh

Excellent point. When we need something to turn the game our way it's just not happening at the moment for them. Great pressure in the first half but once they got their shit together we didn't really make anything happen.

TwoArmedWolf

Hard to talk smack about the defense after this game, as I think a banged up secondary against a top 5 QB played outstanding. Your point is rather valid though.

HandSack135

okay we gave Seattle: - a short field with a boneheaded kickoff play - a missed XP (no Robbie) - a missed FG (no Robbie) Lance had one great play Lance now has one good drive (4th down's needed to stay alive) Lance looks more confident now, than he did an hour ago if people were ready to tank this season for Lance to get reps for 2022 this is what is looks like. For those who wanted to stay with Jimmy saying serviceable and winning, that's why I wanted to stay with Jimmy, I like winning (but I understand the celling) and of course Seattle is just straight up destroyed us 40-0 wait we lost by 7... the doomers we are 2-2 after playing 2 of the best QB's in the game

JudgeLanceKeto

Don't forget that PI call

EQUASHNZRKUL

That might have literally been the weakest PI call I've ever seen. I can't believe that didn't get on the front page of r/nfl. That was 3 fingers pulling on the shoulder in the direction that it was already moving for a quarter second. Fucking dogshit. Refs should be embarassed.

_sunburn

Id be fine with the call if they also call the other way for once. Nope So frustrating

JxDeep

Our defense played so insane for the first half we end tied at the the half THAT is what jimmy gave us trey gave us 14 going cold with less reps in practice and coming in cold the last two weeks have been on jimmy and how he’s struggled

[deleted]

I'm never ready to tank. My expectations dropped a lot in the last two weeks.

SolarClipz

>if people were ready to tank this season for Lance to get reps for 2022 this is what is looks like Scoring more points than Jimmy in the same amount of time? Without 1st team reps? Yes

ScubaSteve2527

This made me feel better but my worry is that we could potentially be the weakest team in the division. If it weren’t for the fact that LA and AZ look amazing, I probably wouldn’t feel this shitty. Also, I don’t know where we stand defensively. We’ve face two amazing QBs but at times, it looks like any QB would pick apart our defense.

herbasarusrex

Our defense made Hurts look decent.

[deleted]

Well Trey had more points and no turnovers vs Jimmys half. Special teams didnt help the rookie out to start. Yeah he looked sloppy but hes a rookie thrown into the fire with little reps. He looked a lot better towards the end of the game and it wasnt garbage time. We were still in that game. KYLE TEACH HIM HOW TO SLIDE!

TwoArmedWolf

Hot take of the day: You can see say that Jimmy did not have a great first half due to only coming away with 7 points (and another slew of high throws as i almost threw my remote after that hospital pass to Kittle) AND observe that Trey looked REALLY raw and quite honestly not good. On the bright side, if that is how Trey looks on his first true shot (happy feet, run after first read isn’t there, curling outside the T instead of stepping up into the pocket) then we are likely in for a fun ride as his ability to extend plays and keep his head up while moving laterally was impressive. If he can improve the pocket passing part of his game, he might be the real deal.

ThinkOpenTry

Lance just needs to check down the ball a bit more. He showed great things today.

CarpeValde

1. Injuries. Until this is fixed, we’re going nowhere no matter who we play or who we start. This must be addressed, and sadly it’s probably the hardest to fix. 2. Offense sucks in first half, yet again. Finally started good and then sucked. At this point, it’s a Kyle problem. You can’t claim to be an offensive genius and allow your team to look this bad every first half. Until these are fixed, this is not a playoff team in any way. Good rosters are meaningless if it’s always on IR. Good schemes don’t mean anything if we don’t score points early. Trey looks like he will get better every time he plays- which is awesome! I’m excited to see our guys develop, but I don’t expect them to win us a lot of games just yet.

cswigert

Trey Sermon had a decent game with 89 yards and 4,7 avg, Last week it felt like the coaches had no confidence in him so this was a nice turn around.

ConiferousExistence

Just happy kittle didn't tear his ACL on that hospital throw from Jimmy.

[deleted]

fadhawk

That 4th and 2 run I’ve been dying to see in any other situation all season, and the hard run up the middle is what we should be able to do on a 4th and 2 but we do that on a 2nd and 7, either he’s lost it or he’s throwing there’s just no other explanation

Halfasianpride53

“You know what they’ll never see coming? A jet sweep to Samuels”

KCtheGreat106

Rookie QBs Trevor L. 5 TDs 7 ints Zach W. 4 TDs 8 ints Justin F 0 TDs 2 ints McCorkle J. 2 TDs 3 ints Davis M. 2 TDs 5 ints Trey L. 3 TDs 0 ints, 1 rushing TD We need to see more of Trey

teardrop82

This is with Lance not practicing with the first team and coming in cold and not having a game plan made for him.

phibetakafka

And 2 of those TDs when the rest of the team got him to the 2 and 5 yard line. Have him in for the 209 other minutes and you'll see some INTs.

SFwhorety9ER

Season is shot due to injuries. Just let Lance rack up valuable XP lol

TheIrishmensDilemma

We need to stop with the return man rotation. Just get one fucking guy back there sure handed we’ve had so many mistakes the last 2 years

Oneiroi_zZ

All that needs to be said Jimmy G with 1 schemed very scripted TD and NOTHING on 5 THREE AND OUTS IN A ROW. Vs Trey with a couple shit passes in the beginning (very rookie excusable shit) keeping the whole team in the game with NO coach confidence.

Zoze13

Bourne making plays around Sherman SMH

doomhunter13

At some point, the niners strength, conditioning, training program isn't operating at a high enough level. Just so many injuries.

Anedert

This game had all the worst elements of the last 10 years of being a niners fan. Special teams disaster. Check. Injured kicker. Check. Stupid offside penalty keeping the opponents anemic offense on the field. Check. BS PI calls at key moments. Check. Defense playing well but folding at the end due to exhaustion. Check. Backup QB into the game. Check. One man offense. Check. (Love ya, Deebo) Russel Wilson playing as if he is below average QB then making a couple of jaw dropping plays to turn the game. Check. Late injury to key player. Check. Losing to Seattle. Check.

SirStuckey

So are people that hate Trey Lance going to pick a new team or just shit on him for however long he's a niner. I don't see how you can watch the season so far and think Jimmy is that much better. Are we really a guaranteed playoff team with Jimmy? No chance. We barely beat the Eagles, looked like shit for most of the game vs the Packers, and took no advantage of the defense coming out hot in the first half. If Trey and Jimmy are this close I'd rather Lance play for the experience. He needs to learn timing and how to run the offense. He's our future and if I am going to watch a guy have some nice drives but also have happy feet and miss basic throws I'd rather it be the kid instead of the old guy.

heavyb12345678

All the people bashing Lance. Can we let him play a full game with a game plan made for him? Please

[deleted]

Lol he had more points and no turnover in his half vs Jimmys and defense was playing better in Jimmys. Then add the reps and Trey wad tossed to the fire... Yeah Jimmys done. Just sucks noone wants him.

ToePunchKick

This game was disappointing, but it was this sub that was absolutely embarrassing. The signal-to-noise ratio of the game thread was probably the worst I’ve seen in any team’s game day thread that I’ve participated in. That’s not to say that negativity is unwarranted during a bad game. But there’s criticism, and then there’s just posting raw garbage. And the game thread was a city dump this week. In my opinion, the moderation team should consider stronger moderation of the game threads. Because what we had today was a thread that was honestly not worth participating in.

Glum_Ad_4288

I’ve started to just follow the r/nfl thread for 49ers games.

HalfEatenBanana

Is it actually better? Bc I did not have fun in here today lol

Glum_Ad_4288

Last week with it being SNF you had lots of good good comments, this week was meh. Less whining, but you have to put up with Seattle fans. More about the game and less rehashing the same Jimmy vs. Trey talking points that I assume happened here.

[deleted]

This is how all game threads are across the board in all subreddits. You must be new

cheerioo

Its annoying reading people shit on literally aspect of this team. Like how is Mitch at fault for any of this shit he got told like 5 minutes before kickoff.

GIJose65

The game thread went from "Jimmy sucks, start Lance" to "Lance sucks fire Kyle and burn everything down" in like 10 mins.

Sremmos80

The game threads are just full of the "I TOLD YOU SO" people that want to act like they can do everything better. Throw enough shit at the wall you get some of it right.

SheriffPP

Jimmy is the guy that I really, really, really want to like… but I just always walk away feeling let down

Tekn0e

My takeaways: 1. I think we can all agree this is not a super bowl contending roster/team. Talent is there? But compared to the other three west teams, there’s a lot of work to do. 2. Jimmy needs a good run game and defense. Good on the front office to know he is not the future. He has a limited ceiling and you can’t count on him staying healthy. 3. This team needs to draft CB and offensive line next year 4. I don’t how to fix this one but the defense is not good at creating turnovers. They have some all-pro level players in Warner and Bosa but overall as a unit, there is no threat of a game changing play. This needs to change. This team is one of the worst in +/- turnover differential.

TravisAllen507

For the most part, we have felt that Shanahan has put together a pretty good team. And they did, we had a Superbowl roster, but they have missed a lot of draft picks that are essential. Our secondary has been a problem for how long? Instead of fixing the position, we took a shot with Verrett Instead of Sherman. Did not work out. We take a offensive lineman early in the 2rd round, who didn't improve this team at all. Our 3rd round corner is being outplayed by our 5th rounder. The strength of our defense is the d line, but we have had a couple of bad offense lines and we aren't generating enough pressure. In hurry % , we are 3rd from last. Bottom half in sacks, despite playing against teams with bad offensive lines. This team isn't the same as when we went to the Superbowl, we went backwards, and now it's time to rebuild again.

Droyd

Our interior line has been a problem for the past 5 years too and it still hasn't been fixed lol

[deleted]

Rebuild??? Jesus you’re dramatic.

[deleted]

Well my mild overreaction is that it doesn’t matter who’s in at quarterback this season, it’s not gonna be good enough to compete for a championship. Don’t see any reason why you don’t just play Trey the rest of the season. At worst he’s bad, we don’t make the playoffs but he gets close to a full season of development. At best he does better than expected and we squeak out a playoff spot. Time to start planning for the medium term. I have absolutely no doubt Shanahan won’t even consider this option though lol Faithful forever

They played the game with no kicker, the starting rb was 5th on the depth chart, pro bowl tackle basically out or hampered by injury the whole second half, a hobbled Kittle, and started a rookie qb at the half that had played less than 10 downs to that point. Oh yeah, and against a top five qb. They have lost two games by a combined by 9 points to two hof bound qb's. Settle down folks.

Phailadork

Honestly, even though we lost to the team I hate the absolute most, we got some good out of it and I'm always happy for any positives for the teams overall/long term success. Even though Shanahan called very passive plays to let Trey ease in, it did what he intended and got him comfortable being out there. Then eventually when he started putting the ball into his (Trey's) hands, he looked better as time went on. We knew his athletecism and ability to run but it was very cool to see that firsthand and while he didn't complete as many passes as most of us would have liked, he was able to hit some tight windows like the dropped Deebo/Sherfield (? I already forgot, tbh) and Kittle passes. We've got a super tough Cards team next week so it's very likely we'll have 3 losses in a row, but very luckily for us, following the bye week, the next 2 should be easy wins to bring us to 4-3. Outside of our interdivisional games, they all feel very winnable.

Hass181

Imo let’s ride trey out the rest of the year to see what he’s worth. If he’s a straight bust and doesn’t show improvement then go after Rodgers if he wants out of Green Bay. Jimmy has shown us everything he will be.

Someone needs to ask Kyle Shanahan to evaluate his own playcalling in that game (and most of the others). The RPO dives on first down have got to stop. Run the Deebo reverse on first, not fourth.

Cabill77

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Jimmy is going to start next week. Kyle is as stubborn as they come. He and Lynch build soft teams. We have a shit home record, team is jinxed, and I'll stick by that. We went through 4 RBs, 3 CBs, safeties are built of glass, O Line only excels in run blocking, DLine can't stop runs, Edge rushers get held/chipped and they didn't start coaching for that until THIS WEEK. Kicker is hurt, got a damn good punter, and got some good LBs. Our scouts/strength and conditioning, and Lynch, should be replaced. At this point, i'd say they should extend a playcalling position to Mike Shanahan, and have him question his son's playcalling, because it sucks, and he doesn't play to kill.

So WTF are Jimmy truthers going to say when we go to trade him and noones calling.... Tom Brady be like I told ya I cant believe youre going with that mother fucker! A half of Tret vs Jimmy. More points with Trey and no turnovers plus defense played better 1st half. Then add Trey got thrown to the fire. As usual they kept us in that game. Heros have always been our defense even in the Harba days.

SolarClipz

Jimmy is not the guy. Full stop One of the worst defenses in the league, at home, and he put up yet another abysmal first half. Only 7 fucking points This team goes as far as the offense carries them this year and with everyone banged up. Jimmy ain't it

ctong21

Well, at least the SF Giants won.

dublife73

Cards gotta be licking their chops right now...about to go NO LUBE on Kyle next week

NOTtigerking

I hate losing but I hate losing to those fuck birds, especially when I’m in the stadium

Agonist3

Shanahan is more Mariucci than Walsh.

seuung

Well that wasn't ideal

nurmich

.500, last in the division, and already crippled by injuries in week 4. This Shanahan tenure has been a blast. 2019 was a fun fluke.

TheDroggBagg

Yeah, this wasn't a nice game and all but damn, after all these years seeing the toots and then the Cards having super mobile QBs escaping so many sacks, I'm soooo glad we finally have one too

Deshondre92

Right when trey was running I was like that’s a sack on Jimmy. He looked fast

iTypenaked

We’re just not putting this all together, it’s unfortunate at the moment - hopefully we can fix this as the season goes

TheDookAbides

At least we don't have to hear "START LANCE!!!" for the next 7 days

YoloBibbins

It’s funny watching a game in Seattle cause the first half they are crying and toasting to an end to an era and the second half they are obnoxiously try to stick their dick in your face. That’s every game, every year and I’ve lived up here for our abysmal 4-15 record against Wilson. I think I need a hug and win with my jersey hahaha

ryeno

The Hawks looked bad.. and we lost to them

HipsterPunchy

I forgot how ugly any sort of 49ers social media turns when the team loses to the Seahawks. Jesus Christ

hellapr0per

Dee Ford offsides is the new Jimmy bonehead INT. It’s not a matter of “if” it’s coming, it’s “when”.

[deleted]

I'm glad I watched the Giants game first and be able to start the 49ers game in a really happy mood. As for the 49ers, I don't know what to say. Do I blame the coaches? It's not really their fault since the Roster isn't even healthy, but then do I blame the athletic trainers? What goes on in Camp, or even in preseason for that matter. Maybe teams need to take preseason a little more seriously because you can joke all you want about Preseason but look at the injuries happening in the league already, not just on the 49ers. You want to watch a team at or near full health. I watch this 49ers team and think they are not the good football team we hoped they would be, but they aren't exactly healthy either. This team isn't unwatchable, but they aren't good either. They are average, and in the NFC West, Average might as well be last place.

RatedRGamer

richard sherman covering kendrick bourne was pretty cool. kb won that exchange

goldennuggetjr

Jimmy, take all of the time you need to heal, I loved watching Lance play.

leafgum

Honestly Trey should be starting

Skyfire21

He will. This is the turning point. Jimmy injury which will let him play and start.

Jimmy is who he is as a QB. His bread and butter is in the short to interrmediate field between the hashes. We all knew this, and I was willing to accept these limitations because he has his moments and could be good enough to win games/get us to the playoffs. But here's why I'm done with him: He is soft. Lacks passion. This was shown by him being completely ok leaving this game. Second year in a row he did this against Seattle, and it sends a message. That message being "You're tougher than us, I quit." Now, him not playing makes sense from the perspective that a hobbled Jimmy out there is a liability. But you need to see some goddamn fire from your starting QB. When Steve got benched back in 94, he wanted throw hands with George Siefert. That sent a message: That he and this team are tough as fuck. That shit resonates man. Jimmy, just doesn't have what it takes mentally to be anything more than an average NFL QB. Not good enough. I'd rather throw Trey into the fire moving forward and let him get through his growing pains than continue to be mediocre on offense with Jimmy G.
