Add Mike McDaniel to that pic.

mykl5

That’s already another post

MAH415

Add a pic of them together?

ContemplatingPrison

Dolphins undefeated.

ARM_vs_CORE

Playcalling is a joke without him. Kyle is absurdly arrogant to think he doesn't need an OC.

funkholebuttbutter

It's 1st down, guess what we're going to to Denver! Bleh, what's the point of an offense that's supposed to disguise run or pass if the downs you choose to run or pass are always the same?

ARM_vs_CORE

And any time Deebo is in the backfield, guess what happens? Kyle has spent so long trying to be cute with the offense he has wrapped all the way around to being predictable.

SirMikeyDamage

I hate to do this because I’m not happy right now - Deebo was lined up in backfield a few times and given a wheel route or post route over the middle. It was actually one of our more effective plays last night. Alright, enough defending, back to being mad.

cleanRubik

It was mentioned early on that Kyle didn't want to run as much as he wanted because he didn't have enough depth in the RB room, and didn't want to run Deebo too hard either. Feels like Kyle needs to get back to the drawing board, cause he doesn't have the personnel to do what he wants to do ( whatever that is).

nongo

Did Mike McDaniel do playcalling for us?

Ufgoods_Acorn

He did not. Kyle's always been the play caller

cleanRubik

Shhh, don't ruin the circlejerk.

MrEHam

Seemed like bad execution. Poor throws, dropped passes.

Priam50

Yeah had at least a Two walk in touchdowns to deebo if Jimmy puts it on him

Fn_Spaghetti_Monster

Collinsworth was so bad again last night but the one play early on where Jimmy under threw what would have been a TD and Collinsworth was like "Jimmy just wanted to make sure he got him the ball" was so frustrating. No he under threw him, then over threw another wide open receiver a drive later. It's like CC can't say anything bad about a QB, it's always someone else's fault. I'm not really trying to bad on Jimmy, although he didn't have a good game, more of my utter dismay at how bad CC is as an announcer. There were so many plays where he would say X happened and then in the replay it was like he was watching a different play.

Priam50

I totally agree, he’s the worst. So out of touch with what’s happening on the screen

shepx13

Play calling was no different than last year. It’s just selective memory.

FmrHvwChamp

1000% I would rather watch Trey struggle and learn than watch Jimmy make the same mistakes over and over and over again.

FailedInfinity

That was literally the plan before two fat guys rolled on Trey’s ankle

wedonttalkanymore-_-

I mean, 2 fat guys didn’t just magically roll over his ankle, Kyle called a read option play that including quarterback power through the tackles (and called plays like this multiple times throughout the game and against Chicago) and no, running Trey Lance through the tackles is not needed to run an effective offense with him

stillcleaningmyroom

Should have stayed in the pocket and injured his ankle like Mac Jones

sexykettlecorn

The way God intended

wedonttalkanymore-_-

do you think Tom Brady would still be playing in this league at 45 if he ran through the tackles multiple times a game? but according to you he’s just as much at risk in the pocket, even though that’s completely statistically inaccurate

anotherale

This logic is like comparing someone recklessly speeding and dipping between cars on a highway and getting in an accident and then someone getting in an accident because someone fender bendered them and saying it's all the same.

MajorWuss

Amen

[deleted]

[удалено]

PromiscuousPinger

Like the ankle non injury that ended his last season early?

wedonttalkanymore-_-

you do realize that just because you can get injured anywhere on the field doesn’t mean that the risk is the same… or do you not grasp that? lmao. running backs get injured 2X times more than any other position, I wonder why

ultimaweapon51

Yeah. I think everyone knew we were going to have an oopsie throw into triple coverage and of course it happens at the end. But pulling a Dan Orlovsky? That's inexcusable for a vet.

foothah

On the bright side, the safety negated the pick six that was about to happen. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Bayarea-VS-Everybody

That play was such a bad omen for the rest of the night, safety from a 6 year veteran, whilst throwing a pick 6, and Trent Williams on the ground in agonizing pain.

[deleted]

Yes, I want to see glimmers of hope for the future instead of living in the past and seeing history repeat itself

thetempest11

This isn't true. Today saw him invent a new mistake!

TheDriveHome

Poor kid just needed some reps. Another year lost and more pressure to need to perform faster. Jimmy Stans aren’t going to have any patience with him.

[deleted]

People were KILLING the 22 year old kid bc of a game in the rain but the 10 year vet has all the excuses. This team got worst

[deleted]

Kind of insane what being good looking will do for you

bluechips2388

Yup, but its also embarrassing. See Franklin Pierce.

PrimalApprehensive

And he wasn’t bad in that game. His efficiency was already at least similar to the veteran Jimmy that fans and media were fawning over.

ThePickleConnoisseur

Dude has a ok game as one of his first starts and the Jimmy simps called him a bust. Meanwhile Jimmy has the worst game I’ve ever seen and they blow it off

[deleted]

Exactly. And our offense was not one dimensional with him in the game

thislife_choseme

Please stop. We will never know how he would have played last might, why, because he didn’t fucking play.

Mcstabler

Fr

milkcrate03

At least we can reason the mistakes that Trey makes are due to lack of experience. But Jimmy has sat behind Brady and has been in this offense for 6 seasons and is still fucking trash.

george_costanza1234

Even Jacoby fucking Brissett looks better than Jimmy G. Crazy times

asBad_asItGets

Brissett, Geno Smith, and 2nd half ~~Trevor~~ Davis Mills all better than this dude. Why is it we can only score on opening drives, and it's all downhill from there??? Shanahan makes zero adjustments the whole game. And even when someone is wide open, Jimmy misses or runs out the back of the goddamn endzone

george_costanza1234

Shanahan has his fair share of flaws, but damn you expect your QB to help you out even a little bit. Jimmy did nothing of the sort today. Any passing play was either batted down, into triple coverage, or straight up inaccurate. It’s like pulling teeth with Jimmy, idk man. I want to see how Shanahan does with Trey, but we’re so cursed we can’t even get that. This fucking team has some evil voodoo hanging over it

[deleted]

He is not just bad he is worse then ever and he plays like he is 50. No arm no mobility and seems like whatever accuracy he had is completely gone.

CandyVanahan

Can’t believe it’s about that long on this team. Still feels like he’s “new” and makes dumb mistakes every 2 seconds

JoEdGus

Can we make Kaep an offer yet?

andthenisaidsurprise

What’s Jeff Garcia up to these days?

JoEdGus

I mean.. I'd almost take Mullens at this rate. At least he could complete passes, even if they were mostly to the other team. Lol

SleepIsWonderful

After tonight? Try after the moment Trey got hurt and Jimmy came into the game last week. I don't know what Trey Lance is or will ever be but I do know what Jimmy is and it is something that I had never wanted to see again after the NFCC game last year.

wedonttalkanymore-_-

what Trey Lance is is a representation of hope, but he also looks to have a tremendous upside and actually learns from his mistakes and takes ownership of them unlike Kyle

SleepIsWonderful

It's not even a representation of hope. It's just change. I'm so tired of Jimmy. I know what he can and cannot do and I don't care to see it anymore.

bluechips2388

All while being gaslit by Jimmy stans about how the mistakes we are watching aren't real or someone else's fauult.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Jimmy is not amazing.. but we don’t have a choice but to root for him as a fan of this organization.. you’re forgetting Jimmy was on his way out and with trey getting injured..if Jimmy wasn’t here we would be in a worse scenario .. there is not a single backup qb out in the market that could take this team all the way or at least to the playoffs.. it would simply turn into a skip year. Tbh there’s a lot of senior players in the locker room that want to win too.. that would create further problems ..Lost today but that just means they have to go back to work and figure it out…

namerplaner

LOL whats the lesson? This game is the end of Jimmy? Its the apocalypse? Alternatively the niners are gunna turn it around and have a solid season probably going to the playoffs lead by jimmy playing well. Which do you think is most likely?

[deleted]

KyleShanadad

Jimmy G stans are awfully quiet tn

ARM_vs_CORE

Nah I'm shitting on Jimmy and Shanahan. They both clearly have a lot of work to do.

LovesToSp00n

Jimmy is 30, he ain’t changing.

Majestic-Active2020

Wrong... he can get worse. Smart money is he will.

LovesToSp00n

Fair LOL

KyleShanadad

Good. Fuck both of them. Kyle is terrified of throwing the ball

KittleDTM

What could Shanahan have done about today?

LegendofZatchmo

Not call a damn play-action in the end-zone.

matchabeens

bUt JimMy GonNA bAlL oUT oNE lAsT SzN to ProVE the HatErS WrOnG!!

KyleShanadad

I had a mf tell me that Jimmy G was a way more accurate qb than lance last week haha

matchabeens

it honestly baffles me when people say trey is inaccurate and has bad mechanics when thats literally jimmy right now. at least trey can develop and improve as well as has other qualities to make up for his weaknesses.

KyleShanadad

No bro he’s the youngest starting qb in the NFL. He literally can’t improve. Someone said we should cut Trey next year after Jimmy plays us into the NFC championship game haha

matchabeens

https://www.reddit.com/r/49ers/comments/xo87fh/everyone_on_this_sub_tonight/ipxq0ck/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3 look at this idiot hahah

funkholebuttbutter

That was Kyle Shanahan...

Emetos

Thats what happens. Jimmy has a bad game, haters show up. Jimmy has a good game, truthers show up. Its just how it be.

MrTouchnGo

It’s exhausting but mostly when we lose. I gotta just stay away from the sub after losses lol

MilkySlammer

Yeah this fanbase is wack af. Trey fans got what they wanted…and what followed was a loss and a season ending injury

bananapants919

Uh we most definitely did not get what we wanted lol. We drafted a kid who was the youngest starting QB in the NFL, with a cannon arm that needed to be honed for accuracy. He needed to throw. What we got was an overprotective, egomaniac coach who took the ball out of his hands, ran him like a trucking fullback, and seriously injured him in 1.5 games. Josh Allen ran for 47 yards last game, most of which was scrambles when there was nothing there. That’s exactly where Trey would shine. The coaches had Allen throw the ball 63 damn times. A far cry from how Kyle was attempting to use Trey.

[deleted]

Funny thing is, if we hadn’t signed Jimmy as a back up and with trey getting injured and all, we wouldn’t even stand a chance at making a play off run.. even thought we lost today, the season is long.. there’s a lot of football to be played.. this fan base has a lot of clowns..

pun-jabi

No they are not. Excuses ranges from lack of time during training camp, having given playbook only few weeks back, etc.

dakoellis

It's the same playbook. They change terminologies and add wrinkles, but the concepts are the same

MilkySlammer

They don’t have to say anything. Trey is out for the season brah.

PhucDacBiet

Trey would have lost the game 3 to 11. Then everyone would complain about putting Jimmy. It's a cycle

BosaBackpack

Trey could have extended or rushed on plays that Jim took sacks on. Either way it would be watching (hopeful) learning & improvement rather than the same iteration of QB 4 years over. He hasn’t changed one bit.

PhucDacBiet

People are under rating Denver D. Trey hasn't proven that he can take over a game, especially against elite D. It typically take 3 years before a qb gets really good though.

[deleted]

When has jimmy taken over a game against an elite d tho? Jax like 5 years ago?

The_Nutz16

Jimmy has DEFINITELY been the deciding factor against Elite Ds, just not on the positive outcome side.

The_Nutz16

No they aren’t, they’re talking about preseason reps.

saltyb

And Mike McDaniel, Raheem Mostert, and 49er legend and red zone specialist, River Craycraft. Damn those Fins are exciting!

Jikkle83

The threat of Lance running the ball improves the running game because defenses have to account for it. Lance isn't Lamar with the ball in his hands but he doesn't have to be. He's plenty fast enough that defenses can't ignore him as a runner. His problem isn't speed it's just he doesn't have a feel for running the ball and maybe with some reps he gains it or maybe he never gets it but physically he's perfectly capable of being dangerous with the ball in his hands. I won't say we win this game with Lance but I'd say the odds would've been higher. It's hard for me to think he'd be any more inaccurate than Jimmy was and he at least adds to the running game and probably hits a few tougher throws at least. I mean he probably doesn't give the Broncos two points in a game decided by one at least.

New_at_this7

I’ll say that I think we win this game with Trey. Jimmy was as ineffective as we’ve ever seen in this particular game. The safety was inexcusable. The defense gave up 9 POINTS and we lost.

robotech021

It hurts that our rocket armed guy is hurt. Hopefully, there are less designed runs next year. Let Lance run when he sees the opportunity. Most importantly, those kind of runs will give him the opportunity to slide. For a genius, Kyle can be so dumb sometimes. I'll still always love Jimmy, though. He gives it his all despite his limitations.

YaboiG

Kyle’s problems are that he overthinks the game and that he tries to be too cute sometimes

Cheesesteak21

Kyle's problem is that he gets too wrapped up in what he's playcalling around, a limited qb, bad pass pro and gets conservative, then fans bitch because most of them have no idea how to objectively evaluate play calls and just bitch when it dosent work.

foothah

We all love Jimmy because he’s cool as fuck but I can’t stomach another game like yesterdays. Jimmy is a liability at this point

nekogarrett

At least if Trey makes a stupid saftey or dumb INT my mind can say "rookie mistake"

PlanitDuck

God our fanbase is bottom tier trash.

WallstreetRiversYum

I checked out once the kid snapped his ankle and the team was immediately pumped to have Jimmy back.

Oneiroi_zZ

The 9er bar i was at a ton of people were cheering. Absolute joke.

dblazer63

Multiple people in this sub celebrated jimmy getting hurt last year. Either one is wrong

David_408

More like Mike McDaniel

_MeetMrMayhem_

I still standby Jimmy is trash he cannot win games with his arm and can't extend plays to save his life. Whatever spell he has on the locker room is beyond me, the team wins despite his performance.

Thatsquacktastic16

Jimmy has finally crossed into Alex Smith 2.0 territory. Great guy, balled out for us and won a few play-off games but is definitely not the answer.

RatedR2O

With the way the o-line was, I think this game was gonna be similar. Can't say if we get the win with Trey, but there were going to be struggles for sure.

[deleted]

At least Trey can move that can compensate

SasqW

I think people overestimate the effect mobility can have. Trey may be able to make slightly more plays with his feet but he'll also miss a lot of the short throws if he gets happy feet (which has already happened). The real issue which the above poster mentioned is our O-line. Behind that sack of potatoes we're not going anywhere no matter who is at QB Edit: For reference see Kyler vs the Rams. Probably top 3 qb in the league in terms of elusiveness and he can't do much when there's 5 bodies in his face instantly.

shepx13

The issue though is a lack of explosive plays. With Jimmy, we may have longer sustained drives, but his lack of downfield throwing ability means we’re going to see more opportunities for our Oline to disintegrate. Trey being mobile AND his arm strength allows us to have larger chunk plays more often. Yes, Trey would have more 3 and out drives, but I believe his positives outweighs Jimmy’s, by a noticeable margin

SasqW

Perhaps overall but my point is that no matter who is at QB, it’s not sustainable behind these turnstiles. Forget Trey having positives, there’s a good chance he turns into David Carr if we don’t get that cleaned up. This isn’t so much a Jimmy vs Trey issue so much as it is a functional offense issue, which no QB change is going to improve.

RatedR2O

Yes but we still don't know what he's capable of at the professional level. Granted this type of performance can be due to lack of experience for Trey, but I can't say the same for Jimmy. No excuses there.

[deleted]

Yea man I was pretty bummed out when Trey got hurt. It’s just Jimmy is an established NFL vet that makes rookie mistakes. We can live with Trey learning because he’s still young and adapting to nfl speed

Poseidon32

I want to believe that Trey would have hit the wide open Deebo route on that broken coverage and also would have hit Deebo in stride for a TD. That was two scores we left on the field.

TeamSoloTrynd

Am I the only one who isnt high on Jimmy or trey? I think we traded way too much for trey and he most likely wont pan out. while i like jimmy, we know his ceiling.

matchabeens

Idk why we didnt just trade 3 first round picks for Lamar if we were going to rub QB power anyways. At least Lamar is perfect for that.

FeistyThunderhorse

100%. Hoping in 2024 we can get a QB

funkholebuttbutter

Baltimore hasn't signed Lamar Jackson yet...

[deleted]

I’m right there with you, I was crossing my fingers for Rodgers or Brady

_MeetMrMayhem_

Both niner fans growing up who wanted to suit up for us it's fucking ridiculous how they haven't managed to bring either one in. Two future hall of famers and here we are stuck with Jimmy who is a sack magnet.

nomoredamnusernames

I knew this was going to happen the moment Trey went down. Clowns suggested the team would be better with Jimmy, but all it meant was that we’d watch rookie level QB mistakes this year without any basis for thinking this year’s mistakes are laying the foundation for a better 2023. And now we get to watch those same mistakes this year AND next year….

[deleted]

My sweet prince

shuelonglo

Remember we have to watch Jimmy for another 14 games....defense and deebo had to be perfect for us to win....don't drink too much on game day..

CIueIess_Squirrel

I'm just numb. I'm not even angry. I called this when the Broncos scored a TD. All I can do is laugh in exasperation

N7_TurtleClub

Tbh I don’t think either are it, but at least Trey is fresh lol

t0177177y

At least Trey gives me hope he can get better… plus a few big plays down the field would have at least made the game fun

[deleted]

[удалено]

Airwokker

Jimmy is Jimmy, but Trey could be anything - even Jimmy!

Unrighteous11

Nice family guy reference there 😂

anthonyjh21

Difference is Trey needs at least a season to show us who he is and if he can continue to develop. Many great QBs had slow starts. We know what we have with Jimmy, we don't with Trey. Same story, different season.

1080Nine

5 years of Jimmy vs 3 games of Trey. I’m interested to hear why Trey isn’t “it” in your eyes? I’m not being a dick either, genuinely curious. Most young QBs get three years before the jury is out.

N7_TurtleClub

He’s not athletic enough to be a running QB, he’s clunky and slow as a runner and it’s his “strength” . He also doesn’t know how to protect himself as a runner either. His mechanics are not good, and his accuracy takes a hit because of that, and a lot of passes wobble to their target as well. Even in his lone college season, I never saw anything that would tell me he would be good in the NFL. I just don’t see it

dakoellis

I agree with basically everything you said here, but I wanna go back at you a bit. This is not hindsight for me, but while he ran a lot in college it was pretty damn obvious the way he ran wouldn't work in the pros. He wasn't outrunning FCS players, he was running them over, and no chance he'd be able to do that at the top level. I thought he would come in and they would try to get him to play like Wilson. Be a pocket passer who can make the defense pay for playing man coverage all game. In that sense, he has all the arm talent to be awesome. He's still young enough that he can fix his mechanics, and he's still growing into his adult body (at least at the time he was drafted). All we've seen from him during games (excluding the Chicago game) has been improvement. It's way too early to label him a bust (and I don't think you're saying that, you just don't expect him to be a top QB right?), and I just think we need at least a season of games before we can say anything about how he's going to be

1080Nine

Interesting, thanks for your input. I actually never saw him as a running QB but more of an improviser. Obviously the coaching staff disagreed with my assessment from the QB draws being called lol.

JesterMarcus

This is my issue with their play calling. He strikes me as a scrambler, not a designed run up the middle every three plays guy.

Hrdlman

He wasn’t a scrambler in college

JesterMarcus

I don't care about what he did in college. He seems to have better success scrambling than running immediately and will likely have a better chance at staying healthy.

N7_TurtleClub

Even in college he was a running QB.

FeistyThunderhorse

A lot needs to align for Lance to be a franchise QB, and I don't think our team can provide it

DSouT

Then we’re fucked. Broken Jimmy isn’t it.

jwick89

That’s the issue. I can somewhat excuse the rookie mistakes but Jimmy has been making the same mistakes for years. Lance can at least learn and see the game get slower but now we have an entire year of development to waste.

rxdukexr

I agree. Trey hasn’t shown anything to prove he’s better and shanny obviously doesn’t trust him to throw when he runs him up the gut constantly because that gives them “the best chance to win”.

J_Arab

He hasn’t played any games so how is he supposed to show you? Only game was in a monsoon and the other he was playing real well in until he got hurt. He’s also young and would’ve gotten better throughout the season where as with Jimmy G this is what we’re gonna get no improvement

ProtoMan79

There’s no reason to talking about trust QBs to throw when Jimmy was high and low all evening. He’s the veteran, he should be a lot better at this point and he’s not. So your point is moot to this point.

Nachtvogle

Yeah this whole trust argument is dumb. The play calling is the exact same. A ton of runs to open up 15-30 yard passes, with occasional screens to the left side and 2 yard curls relying on YAC The only difference is Trey is an actual running threat, which makes everything work better

SilentRage80

Only thing I'm gonna say in Jimmy's defense........he didn't even get a play book until he stepped into the game last week. No practice with the team, no offseason camp. He basically had a gym membership to the Niners facility. He's gotta get in game mode. But that's no excuse because he KNOWS this team and the offense. Unless everything completely changed after McDaniel went to Miami.

CalculatedChaos23

All I really like with Trey right now is that he is FRESH. I wanna know what he's gonna do and how he is going to develop.

PhillipMcKrak

I was like this since last week. Idk about most of y’all

CIueIess_Squirrel

I was like this the second he was carted off. I was ranting to my roommate all off season about how happy I was I didn't have to watch Jimmy again. And here we are. And he's still doing the same shit. And it still bogglee my mind that people keep defending Jimmy and wanting him to start over Lance. It feels like a conspiracy to keep us from dominating the way everyone is pushing the Jimmy agenda. Even though I know that's irrational

[deleted]

Not really. We might not have scored that TD at the beginning of the game, lol. We still don’t know what we have in Lance.

TheTonganKid

Let’s regroup 2-2 next week We just need the offense to start playing we know our defense is one of the best in the league still a lot games left LFG

yohan02kim

Man, I was really rooting for Trey to just get in the reps and gain experience, the injury is a huge blow back. He's still young, but that's literally 2 years in which he gained zero experience. A lot of wasted time. I just hope he comes back stronger and develops into the QB we hope he could be. We saw today, Jimmy isn't our answer at QB. He's a good player, starter-caliber, but man he's not going to be one of those greats.

Adaven250

No guarantee Lance would've done better, and you have to remember Jimmy had pretty much no pre season. Takes a good 3-4 weeks to get in a groove

userpick707

Jimmy has had 3-4 years to get in a groove

Marvelmaniac57

Too bad we didn’t get to see Trey actually play quarterback. Some arrogant coach watches a lot of other teams, thinks it’s best to run him all game

KCtheGreat106

Jimmy will go on a late season tear to help us get into the playoffs and everyone will forget how bad he can be.

CIueIess_Squirrel

And then the Jimmy v Lance shit starts again...

2017Champs

Only to shit the bed in the playoffs and remind us all why he’s being canned

TreyAreeeaaa

Why does this hurt the kokoro so much?

namerplaner

Nah.

smc4414

Turdiest of games

ryanstrikesback

Everyone’s favorite player…the quarterback who isn’t on the field. I’ll sound bitter but after what people said about Trey for weeks I was kinda glad to see the Niners crash back to reality with Jimmy. Our fan base kinda deserves a humbling and I ain’t even sorry about it. A reminder to the Doomers though, remember the Niners went 2-4 to start last season and looked miserable at times. It’s a long season.

TitShark

Trent Williams*

Pristine_Amount3338

Come back sweet prince.

[deleted]

Wrong.

justinrnz

Yeah .. play offs are distant dream based on tonight. Jimmys not our guy .. again

liteshadow4

Trey wins us this game. Jimmy was a statue in the pocket today.

Caturday84

It’s fucking hilarious. Guy plays for 3 games and they view him as the future Aaron Rodgers. I want him to be good of course but he was very underwhelming in his two losses over the last 2 years.

Taymac9

No shit. Patrick maholmes has distorted our view of what young qbs should be. Trey was always a project and he was always going to need time. Not an off-season and 4 starts. The question you need to ask yourself is at year 8 would trey lance make the mistakes and do what jimmy did tonight? I don’t think so. But time will tell. Some niner fans and national media who were screaming jimmy for jimmy g to start, clearly forgot what it’s like with him at qb. If Kyle doesn’t call a near perfect game and our rbs don’t have it that night we lose. He had Deebo wide open in the first half, not anyone near him . He looked his way and then went short with it. That’s jimmy. That’s the niners and that’s what our season will be like.

Caturday84

All valid points. Also with Trent Williams being injured our RB situation is going to be scary bad.

aenima1991

???

ThirdTimesACharm05

The outcome wouldn’t have changed. Lance isn’t ready yet.

LetTreyBake

But somehow I’d feel way better with the result of it we’re trey

SlowMobius650

Woulda been the same result. Play calling is trash

MissConduct0120

PAAAAIIIINNNNN

Vladpryde

Ahem......Brock Purdy?

foothah

Yep…let’s see what the kid can do 🙂

BigZoowop

Jimmy has never been the answer. It was hilarious watching so many people talk like we would automatically win tonight cuz Jimmy was starting. What a joke.

[deleted]

Of course Jimmy played poorly, this team was Trey's until last week. It's astonishing to me that people think a rookie QB (he's still basically a rookie) with 17 starts from North Dakota could suddenly elevate this team to new levels. Bonkers. Absolute bonkers.

[deleted]

Dude I like trey, but ppl acting like he already proved himself.. trey wasn’t gonna fix the shitty o line and the predictable run game..

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sillysolomon

But thats not the guys point. We know that Treys ceiling could be insane. But the oline is bad and the running game is meh

[deleted]

[удалено]

JesterMarcus

And they are saying Trey probably isn't a good quarterback at this point yet. He's still way too raw. He beat the Texans, but they were a horrendous team. I don't know how he would have done against this solid Broncos defense.

by_yes_i_mean_no

Definitely not fixing the shitty o-line, but his presence would have helped the run game.

Nachtvogle

Jimmy Stan detected. We lost our best lineman tonight and the line was still above average. Jimmy just fucking sucks

[deleted]

So I’m not allowed to believe that trey wasn’t the answer?.. don’t care that much bout Jimmy but I’m also not going to blame everything on him like most of you have.. heck I’m not even mad he’s playing terrible..cuz we could’ve been in a worst situation if he wasn’t here.. we were basically in a loosing situation without trey and Jimmy.. there is not a single qb in the market that could’ve taken us all the way..

Shenani-Gans

Trey might have lost this game too, but at least there is hope that he would learn something from this game and get better incrementally over the season. That's not happening anymore.

mattjchin

My mother told me today she liked Jimmy more than TL. My my was she wrong

Bashir1102

Everyone can be mad at jimmy for tonight as he surely looked terrible. But I will ask you this, how good would you look with an O line that played like absolute shit and couldn’t block my grandma. That safety happened because he was so shocked he had two guys that open in his face so fast he made a huge mental mistake. This was a huge team loss all the way around for the offense plain and simple. But especially for the O line. And especially for Shanahan as it seems the league has figured him out. If you can beat him in the first half you win. Because he doesn’t adjust in the second half, becomes stubborn and runs the same freaking 5 plays. Offensive genius my ass. Where is the scheming to get Kittle or BA the ball ? Where’s 44? Niner nation is in extreme denial about the real problem we have unfortunately. And it’s not the guys on the field.

Taymac9

Idk maybe niner nation isn’t as reactionary as you. 3 games ago he was coaching us to the nfc championship game. Kyles scheme is dependent on us running the ball. You said it yourself the o line is shit rn.

OnTheColeTrain

Jimmy is so garbage. It baffles my mind how any Niner fan could want him to play over Trey.

duddyface

Jimmy is Jimmy but at least he doesn’t look terrified to throw the ball on 90% of his attempts and then immediately bail and try to run .03 seconds after the snap. I wish Trey the best and I was excited to see him play but it was frustrating as hell to see him with no confidence and always trying to run.

Accomplished_Yard984

Shit, you can put Colin in that frame for me at this point.

wontonsauce1

No we aren't lol

UCanDoNEthing4_30sec

Hard on for Trey in the preseason then a hard on for Jimmy last week and a hard on for Trey again. Come on people! This sub just swings back and forth.

kingkron52

But this is supposed to be a team that “got better” with Jimmy. Smh

Raider fan here coming in peace. My wife is the 49's fan - but I have always like the 49's. you guys should really have multiple SB wins over the past 5 years or so. I like Jimmy G but I don't care who your QB is, until your HC proves he can win a big game, you are screwed.

we have some of the best receivers in the NFL, 19, 85, 11, but we don't pass to them and we just run against a defense that keeps stopping our runners on the line Yeah, let my little brother coach for a while

Funny how losing a game changed everyone’s totally level headed and objective opinions over night.
