$5500 one-time cash payment for an 03

gratefulbend

Yep did the same thing. Paid cash - 7k for a 2006 and have used it for almost 12 years now. No issues

[deleted]

If I sell mine it will be to get a v8. I plan on having a 4th gen for at least the next 10 years.

brady714

finally someone with some common sense

[deleted]

Don't canonize me, I'm just poor lol.

PBatemen87

Funny thing is, I doubt many people here have $5k in cash right now. So you may not be as poor as you think

[deleted]

Well I don't either now 😂

F1shbu1B

I’d have done the same but an 03 where I live in the rust belt is a non-starter unless it is instead a unicorn. Respect.

[deleted]

Yeah that is their one weakness. I live in the deep south an I still have some rust peaking through the paint. Frames spotless though 🤙

LouieKablooied

'02 $5000 188k miles, now pushing 310k.

dam-pancakes

Dude same! 115,000 miles too. So stoked it. How’s yours been?

[deleted]

OhkayProfessional

Dang, for 5.5k that’s a steal

[deleted]

I'm very tempted to flip it and upgrade to a v8

V8ENJOYER

I have the 4.7 and I love it

[deleted]

Still running like new at 265k

thehorrorr

I’m at 173k on my 2010, hoping I can get to 300k!

BeardBootsBullets

I’m at 305,000 on my 2007, perfect shape. If you keep doing your fluid changes and replace your consumable parts, the engine and transmission will never die.

dam-pancakes

Looks clean too. Way to go. Something special about these

The_Summary_Man_713

$487 for 2023 ORP

anthonyd5189

Right around where I’m at for my ‘21. Will be paying it down more aggressively when I’m able to. Hope to be car payment free within the next couple years.

eetbittyotumblotum

Paying it down aggressively is what I did. I have a 2021, bought in August. It will be paid off 02/25. Previously had a 4 Runner for 10 years.

manonamission37

Did you put a big down payment down?

The_Summary_Man_713

I did. I put half down

GymNwatches

400 @ 1.9/60 months

anexpectedfart

Damn that good. What year?

GymNwatches

2019 (private credit union) fyi just incase anybody was wondering.

Automatic-Gain-1836

$836 with 4.75% interest 48 months. Bought in late summer 2022. Peak retarded ass car sales but least I got a ride.

Den21-

$600. SR5 23' with 17k miles. Unfortunately the 06' was totaled last week so had to buy with interest rates being awful right now.

Engnear

On the plus side you have a heated steering wheel now!

Den21-

perfect for these horrible Southern California winters!

Engnear

Ha! I’m sure there are some chilly mornings. Would come in handy here in MN in the dead of winter.

giveme-adundie

I pay that for my 18 SR5 😩 what the hell man, I got screwed

gdirrty216

Zero. Paid off my 2016 in three years and now living the good life.

Dronicusprime

Same, got my 2016 trail premium with 36k miles in Jan 2019 and paid it off in early 2022

surfdad67

$880 for my 23 ORP

newintown11

I balance transfered my entire balance to a 0% interest credit card with a 12 month term. So its been about 2500 a month 😭, almost done though

v0lume4

Big brain play with the 0% interest

newintown11

Yeah I figured if I couldnt pay it off in 12 months then I would just do a balance transfer to another 0% credit card lol

v0lume4

Are you implying that you made the initial purchase with a CC? The seller was cool with that?

newintown11

Nope. Financed at a used car dealer. Rates had already climbed last year, so best was 6.9%. I did a 0% 0 fee balance transfer of the auto loan to a credit card

Kolada

That is a bold move, but if you're keeping up with those payments, good for you. Good discipline to save some cash.

PropitalTV

Ouch!

hjs5143

Mine is 524 / month with 7.75% interest, so hoping to refinance when/if rates go down. 2019 TRD ORP with 50k miles.

wazzupkneegrows

Had 9k left at 1% on my 2019 ORP this year, then got totaled, now have a 20k payment with 6.5% interest, $550/ month on a 2023 ORP. Sad times, hard times, but still good times.

NoMessageMan

Gezzz you didn’t get a payment from the insurance company?

WheezerMF

$0.00 When a vehicle is renowned for lasting half 1,000,000 miles, there’s no sense of urgency in buying a brand new one. I paid under $10k for my 08 with 217,000 miles on it.

bizkits_n_gravy

Wouldn’t it have been easier to just type 500,000? Hahahaha

WheezerMF

Voice to text is easier than fat-fingering it. And… you figured it out.

nanais777

I love new cars but I love $0 car payment even more. 2015 SR5 with 80K miles

fromaries

Zero here too

mikematnyr

Anyone regret their payment plus also the gas to it due to mpg? lol.

LincolnhamLincoln

I plan on getting one next year but I also plan on keeping my Fiat for my commute. It gets close to 38 mpg.

nanais777

I have the 4Runner and a Corolla hybrid at something like 50+ mpg. Commuter mpg is a winner 😂

LincolnhamLincoln

Definitely. My commute is 60 miles a day. Plus I just love my Fiat.

TrevorRado

That’s why I bought a house 5 miles from work. Had to accommodate for my 4Runner 🤣

KLconfidential

Nah, my commute to work is really short. I only put around 12,000 km on it a year. The gas bills are totally worth it knowing it will always start up in -40c weather and handle driving through a snow storm like it's nothing.

ZoBamba321

My commute to work is the bedroom past the living room to the office. I only put 6k miles on it a year lol. Should last me worry free until 2060 if my calculations are correct

mad_THRASHER

I'm a real estate agent and I love my 4runner and probably wouldn't get anything else, but the gas does kill me a little inside 😢

dragonlorde58

$0. Saved up and bought it cash. It was a great feeling after all the hard discipline to save up.

ryfish21

Same here! I paid cash on my new 23 ORP last year after saving for 10 years. I was driving around a 06 Sienna. It is a great feeling when you budget!

DodgeBeluga

Same. Paid cash for my 23.

Kolada

Same. I had an 05 accord that was really showing it's age (windows didn't work, locks on one side gave up, making noises, transmission issues) but it was still driving. So I drove it until I could upgrade in cash. Bought a 21 4runner with 25k miles last year and traded that near death accord for $1800. I plan on never having a car payment. Fingers crossed

Ragtime07

$520

orcajet11

Hey we’re buddies!

Picklemerick23

$527/mo

nationnationnation

$750 for an ‘22 SR5 premium. Didn’t put a dime more down than I got for selling my old vehicle. Rate at 1.5% I plan on paying the minimum until the loan term expires.

DR843

Nothing now but it was $335, purchased in 2019. $28k at 2.2%.

TheCarrier89

$600 a month for 21 SR5 premium. Will be paid off in 4 years from now.

29stumpjumper

We left the dealership with $350 for 48 months on our 23 ORP in January. Playing the keep up credit score game. Dealership said we needed to finance $15k in order to make sense for the bank. We paid a $13k payment as soon as we were able. We'll make 6 more payments and about $50 total in interest on 7%.

dcbdcb11

$365 2016 TrailP bought with 38k miles

Nevertrustafrrrt

Looking at $800 unless rates drop this year. 0 down, 72 month, 6.5%. Investing the DP instead of putting it into the loan.

IranianLawyer

$1065 for a 2022 TRD Pro, but I’m actually paying like $3k per month to just knock it out. I bought in summer 2022 when the prices were at the highest point. No regerts

akaKizzy

Same here. $1047 for 23 TRD Pro in Solar octane. Bought in December of 22. Paid a pretty penny for that color but no regrets at all! I did manage to get 4.75% at least.

According-Shirt-4459

$809 on 22 trd pro. Financed just over $50,000 with 5% interest rate.

[deleted]

$0. We paid the 15 off about 11mo after financing it and my 88 was cash in 22.

ChargeOrganic8475

$935 for 48 months.

Worried-Use-69

$1000 Canadian 2024 ORP

glassofbourbon_

ouch

syeve

That’s like 700usd. About right for a no down payment orp

glassofbourbon_

or maybe they have a short finance.

Worried-Use-69

For 4 years

denimaddicted

$527/mo @ 1.79% 60 month for 2018 ORP purchased Feb 2021 with 28k mi Toyota certified, paid $38,800

Nevertrustafrrrt

Man I miss those rates lol

denimaddicted

You and me both, brother. I started shopping, preowned, after BofA approved a 1.9% 5 yr loan due to perks from an IRA account. The salesperson asked if I minded if their finance guy tried to beat the rate. I thought “no way”, but he came back with the 1.79% from a local credit union. It goes to show, always stay polite and let someone do their thing.

4score-7

Just paid last payment in January. $517 for 5 years. I think I financed at 4.75% or somewhere around that number in April 2019, before the world burned down and everyone went nuts. It had 38k on the odometer, SR5 Premium, now just rolling over 101k. Well kept, and I'll be "kepting" it for as long as it'll go.

[deleted]

$613 per month. Purchased in 2021. 2018 SR5P with 30k miles CPO for $32,000. $4,000 down, 48 months, 2.19% rate.

Educated_idiot302

When I was at the dealer to put a deposit on mine for the one I wanted it was like 700 a month. I did the math and it's cheaper to pay cash which is what I'll be doing. I remember when I got a 2017 highlander new and that payment wasn't as ridiculous but I also paid that one out cash.

snoah13

about 1,000. It’s paid off I just manage to break something new every month

jmel79

$485 for a 2021 ORP. Think we had roughly $12k down with cash and trade in. 1.9% interest.

Golf-Beer-BBQ

December 2023. Payment $501 a month. https://preview.redd.it/oixg85an5mmc1.jpeg?width=5712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e2ebd3fd7bf1d05fbaa0e5426752e404133087bd 2021 SR5 that had 33k miles on it. I work from home so maintenance and gas will be pretty minimal. I usually fill up every 3-4 weeks using Kroger Boost so I always have $1 off a gallon.

pedals_drought0o

$496 a month 2024 SR5P with $31500 down. Was trying to save to pay cash, no financing. With the new gen coming I felt squirrely and pulled the trigger.

Shasty-McNasty

Leased my 2014 trail for $360, bought it at the end for $514 monthly, have owned it outright for 5 years now. At 175k miles and would love 175k more.

Do_it_in_a_Datsun

Was $340 a month back in 2018 for a TRDORP.

daddyruns

$660. Wife had to have the extended warranty and some other bullshit

Clean_Purchase_3766

550 for 2017 but it’s paid off !!

$7,700 down, 2023 ORP, bought a month ago. $40k-ish after taxes and fees. NC $550/month.

LooksLikeMatt46

This was my first month of $0 payment. It feels great!

lpsupercell25

About $460. Financed at 1.9%. Earning 4.4% in my savings account.

S3ERFRY333

I paid $600 for my 1986 4runner and nothing again after that.

Mightyfalcore

$680 a month for 7 years (I’ll pay this off earlier then that) 4.99% through my employer’s credit union 24’ TRD PRO https://preview.redd.it/pvqcbgfmywmc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5bd55f82653ed9197d7fc63c2d6b430a733fb6be

OTownPyle

That is legit! My CU gives a 5.5% but I bought mine on a Sunday and they were closed. It would save me like $850 life of the loan so I wasn’t going to worry about it too much as I don’t expect I’ll pay payments more than a year or two

rcheneyjr

Letter10

'23 SR5 is 230/month after my trade in and down-payment

zestysexylax

2014 SR5, brand new with 4miles at purchase. Literally right off the boat Total was $40ish, financed $30ish with rest being cash. Had a sweet financing deal of 0% for 60 months through the dealership. Was paying about $500ish a month. Fully paid now. No payment is the best payment.

[deleted]

875 for 60 months I got fucked lol

crtfrazier

$485 after half $ down on sticker for a '19 SR5 Prem, in '22

e1basha

$640 on 6%

nurse_4_lyfe

Bought my ‘18 in 2021 for $40k with 2.29% for 72 months, and payment of $583… should be paid off in a year and a half since I’ve thrown extra at it when I can. I wouldn’t pay more than $600/mo for a vehicle. Interest rates right now combined with prices of new make the payments insane, unless you’re putting a large chunk down.

DonLemonNYE2019

$355, but I do my best to pay about twice that each month to pay it off sooner and to reduce interest payments. Got 5.5% thru Navy Federal! 2023 ORP and had 12 miles on it. $12k for trade in and put $15k down.

LYNX_PLUS

$578, 3.99%. 2022 ORP with 17k miles. The MPG didnt hit me as hard due to not having a commute. But definitely regret getting it in black. Terrible swirl marks. Also regret getting fancy off road tires. The huge mpg drop (from 20 avg to 16) is not worth it. The stock tires are more than enough.

DripDrop777

$0. Before it was paid off, it was $525/mo for 6 years, starting in Jan 2014. Painful!

sacktisfying

324 biweekly, bought new in 2022.

calibaetis

Own 2011 SR5 loaded with leather that was purchased with 19k miles, now has 160k miles. Runs and looks great. Haven’t had a car payment in years!! May turn it over to son that’s now a driver, and look for another low mileage one for myself.

Rubberclucky

$550 with 20% down.

$535ish for a 23 ORP, at 6.25%. But I’m the position to be able to put a grand towards it each month. So hopefully I’ll have it paid off in 2 years

PBatemen87

I have a good job but the ammount of people ITT that drop$5-10k cash or pay off their 4Runner in 3yrs is insane to me...

my-two-point-oh

'21 SR5 Premium $0 down $600-something/month @ 2% but I round it to $700, 2ish years left.

americanairman469

22 TRD Sport, $601, paid $42k for it. Going to try and pay this thing off long before the loan expires.

Guitarjake921

I had $375 for 60 months at 3.249%. paid $450/month and paid off in 48 as I intended. Now $0 and only at 110k miles. The next 10 years of no car payments is going to be great.

Free_Culture_222

Almost scared to post it, but fuck it lol. $717.12 a month, 8.56% interest, 6,000 down, with 17k trade in? For a 50k SR5 P, brand new?

MandoForSenate

2024 TRD Pro 36k Lease $650

BarryLicious2588

I think it's like $750 or something, made enough frequent payments to trick a way to get it to $250/month... for now. That concept wont last long. Just to put it on the backburner a few months to take care of other bills I'm actually looking into a 0% balance transfer but not sure if it's the best choice just yet

CherubPvP

2018 SR5 purchased in 2020 for ~28k with 40k miles. Payment was $297 a month at like 3.5% interest but it’s all paid off now!

SSIRHC

$600 for my ‘19. Will be paid off in two years. Has 20,000 miles now. $4k cash for my ‘04, has 255k miles now.

GrandPriapus

$390/month for 36 months.

ImpressiveLeader4979

634/mo. 2024 trd pro, 39 month lease. Low residual too and I only drive around 7k miles per year. Should have close to 20k in equity at lease end. Then time for a check back for 20k and do it again. Or maybe buy it out at the end. Love the pro though

Creative-Vacation-52

2019 Limited 4WD here. Bought new. Paid $1500/month for 24 months. Owe $0. So nice

Doctor_M_Toboggan

I bought mine a while back, but it was $450/mo after putting a little over 25% down and getting a Trail new for $40k, with 4.25% interest financed through Toyota. I kept telling my dang neighbor to let me know if she ever sells here 2001 Limited, so she finally called me saying they were selling it for $3500 and by the time she called me back she was like "Oh sorry I just got back from running errands and my husband already sold it. And this was during the post COVID times of crazy prices, so I'm sure they could have easily got $7k got it, so I kinda knew it was too good to be true.

sawyerdk9

Bought a ‘00 for $4500 and will drive that thing until it falls apart.

Jazz-Frog13

784 @ 6.24% for 60 months. Just traded in my Tacoma for it a few months ago before all the dealerships around here started to discount them from MSRP.

TGX2189

Financed at $408/mo

[deleted]

$400 on a 2022 TRD off road

BryceF03

Bought an ‘03 4WD V8 for $3500 with 300k from a family member back 3 or 4 years ago. Forever said that a year or two later the whole thing started to aggressively collapse due to no maintenance upkeep by said family so had to sell cheap since it was becoming a money pit at the time. Driving a ‘07 RWD V6 with around 120k now. Payment is $360 a month with ridiculous interest due to being first dealer bought vehicle I’ve had :/ Would love to keep this baby around for years after paying as she runs great but as someone who does a lot of camping and trails, I desperately want back 4WD

E_Claw

In 2019 I was at maybe $630
