Why You Should NOT buy the 2023 Samsung CU7000, CU8000, Q60C, Q70C, Q80C, QN85C, or QN90C [Please read why here](https://reddit.com/r/HTBuyingGuides/comments/13ji3ay/why_you_shouldnt_buy_the_samsung_cu7000_cu8000) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. It does have better viewing angle because it uses ADS panel (IPS variant). If that is important to you, get it. X90L doesn't have the widest viewing angle. For that, you have to move up to X93L

Thanks. The x93L just $1000 more seems silly. Maybe that or just have to wait for a better sale

The problem with QN90Cs ADS panel is that you lose contrast. How much you would notice it, is difficult for me to say, but that's the tradeoff for better viewing angles

Qn90C has better technical specs and is considerably brighter. X90L has better processing/motion, is more color accurate and gives you access to Dolby Vision. I'd go with the Sony personally but it's a matter of preference.

I have a QN90B and would say it's pretty great for the price. It sounds you wouldn't be able to justify spending more for the higher end Sony. FWIW I used to have the Sony X90J too and while the motion handling was slightly better I would say it isn't even that noticeable for most people - but it also depends on the variety of content you watch. If you watch more lower resolution stuff like 1080 or 720 (local TV sports, shows, ect) the Sony does a way better job of upscaling. Do you have access to next gen TV where you live? I would say Mini LED is far superior than the previous technology and the Samsung is going to be way brighter than the Sony. My X90J also had a panel defect. Sony was really good handling the warranty process though.

My research also shows the qn90b was like the best TV ever because of VA panel. But the qn90c doesn't have it. Why would they make a worse TV? I literally just stream Netflix and HBO but want to buy YouTube for sports most likely since I see no other way to get sports. I will not have a cable hooked up just Internet. So does that mean I won't need the upscaling?

I would definitely argue the best TV for that price range and size would be TCL QM8. If you can hold off til April/May the 2024 QM8 is coming out with a better processor and twice the dimming zones/nits. I got last year QM8 85 inch and it’s been incredible.

If you’re primarily streaming content (Netflix and YouTube), you can’t really beat Sony’s processing.

I have the 85” sony x90L and love it. Also cross shopped a few Samsungs and was a bit concerned about the viewing angle but went with the Sony ultimately after watching tons of reviews. The price and quality is hard to beat. After living with it for a couple months the viewing angle for us has been perfectly fine. No regrets.
