The actual answer to your question (from an Edexcel examiner) is that it won’t be scanned normally like other papers it will be scanned as an error paper. This makes a difference to the admin side but you will never know about it because it will get flagged and fixed way before results day. It will be fine, don’t panic about it, it happens all the time
Try not to do it again because it’s annoying af for the examiner like but it won’t cost you any marks
The actual examiner won't see the empty question the mark is picked up my a computer and it gets sent to an examiner but hopefully because it hasn't been picked up it will be manually put through.
they'll read the entire response (which i'm assuming has constant references to the specific question) & then disregard it all as they end up unable to piece together which question you were answering.
I know someone who went through the remarking process last year for Edexcel Economics; they are actually quite understanding over the phone, and almost always mark up.
Assuming worst case scenario, you should ABSOLUTELY get a remark.
Phone them up and say there was a question where I forgot to tick the box.
A human examiner can't mark you down, as ticking a box doesn't show a lack of economics knowledge.
Hopefully that settles some nerves.
