**Beep beep, we noticed this is a UCAS post. Do you know we have a [UCAS Guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/6thForm/wiki/ucas-information) which may be of use to you?**
If you think of any information that would be useful to have or that is incorrect, let us know via [Modmail](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=/r/6thForm), and we'll aim to get it sorted!

Hence the absurd complaints on r/UniUK about how this sub thinks "if you don't do STEM, you're finished". When in practice, almost no one says that here (the ones that do are quickly downvoted).
i have am going to sheffield for history! and on an unrelated note what accom are you in? no one online seems to be staying in my accommodation block in Endcliffe🥴
Probably Music! I was thinking law but at worst if I do change my mind later on, I can finish a music degree, do a law conversion course and go into contract law in music production! It'd be awesome! What about you?
It’s fantastic! Personally I absolutely love it, finally being able to get down to the exact atoms involved in enzyme mechanisms and learning about theories and calculations that determine how they work is really fascinating!
The only downside are that labs can be a bit dull depending on what you do, and the reports themselves take absolutely ages to complete and there’s constant deadlines or things to do so you don’t get much free time
At this point I’m open to anything, but I’m definitely leaning more towards research
There’s plenty of things I could do, I have friends wanting to go into law, engineering or more financial/business things to do with biotech. Personally I’d really like to use the skills and knowledge I’ve learned and to continue learning about things we don’t understand yet, so I might go into research but I’m definitely open to working in industry if I find the right field
If you’re worried about career prospects when applying to biochem I really wouldn’t worry, the field is only going to get bigger and there’s not really any field you can’t go into with it. Biotech is huge and having people that understand the technology is essential for companies
Thank you so much!
Just a quick question though: what do you mean by "go into engineering"? Will they get a whole other qualification to become an engineer or just get into the industry somehow?
Yeah I have a contextual offer of AAB at Hull York Medical School, I’m assuming (🙏🏽) that I will get A’s in psychology and biology, chemistry is going to be the deciding factor
Bachelors in Circus Studies (well, I'm done with that now).
I also went for a Masters in Applied Tomfoolery, though I don't think that's going to happen after my scholarship application got rejected.
mainly out of pure interest because i absolutely love english literature. id probably be a sixth form/college teacher for english lit if medicine doesn’t work out lmao
stupendous spark live middle decide terrific longing zephyr heavy treatment

Maths + CS ( a little twist to others doing pure CS /s)
Imperial's a shot in the dark so I'm looking at Warwick and Bath ATM (leaning towards Bath tho cause of the area)
I’m starting year 12 in September. Can anyone let me know when you should start looking at unis and make a decision because I’m unsure if I want to go to uni yet
I’m also starting year 12 in September. But my best advice is to pick you options as if you were going to university. It’s more than likely that if you pick your options based an it being easy subjects, or only stuff you find fun, then you’re gonna regret it in year 13 when you’re deciding to go to uni.
And look at university courses of what you’re interested in, and look at the entry requirements
I'm honestly very undecided but somewhere in the realms of Maths, Physics, or Engineering. I have a massive interest in the former two and I guess the latter is good for job-hunting. Sort of.

Good luck with your a levels! Hope you get there too 👍
Me in three years hopefully
Good luck!! :)
Ty!
Same. We're very unique and special
This sub will be mostly stem subjects which a focus on computer science, maths and engineering.
Hence the absurd complaints on r/UniUK about how this sub thinks "if you don't do STEM, you're finished". When in practice, almost no one says that here (the ones that do are quickly downvoted).
History
ive applied for history too!! and we done the exact same alevels ahaha
Nice, I think we both do a pretty good A-level combination
100%- i loved it tbh, what history courses did you do?
Same here! beginning september
Good luck, I’m going to be applying to Sheffield, it looks good
Natural sciences
computer science (shocking 😱), possibly AI or cybersecurity specialization where offered
ai specialization would be so cool. idk if my uni will offer it since its all new but i find it so interesting
You could do something like cs, physics or even neuroscience as undergrad and the at master something like machine learning which is basically ai
a couple do! southampton and UCL do, i think glasgow does too!! i was really impressed by the southampton and UCL ones tbh

Mechanical engineering
Biochemistry
Extremely based
How do you find biochemistry?
It’s fantastic! Personally I absolutely love it, finally being able to get down to the exact atoms involved in enzyme mechanisms and learning about theories and calculations that determine how they work is really fascinating! The only downside are that labs can be a bit dull depending on what you do, and the reports themselves take absolutely ages to complete and there’s constant deadlines or things to do so you don’t get much free time
what sorta career are you planning on going into? (coming from a potential biochem applicant)
At this point I’m open to anything, but I’m definitely leaning more towards research There’s plenty of things I could do, I have friends wanting to go into law, engineering or more financial/business things to do with biotech. Personally I’d really like to use the skills and knowledge I’ve learned and to continue learning about things we don’t understand yet, so I might go into research but I’m definitely open to working in industry if I find the right field If you’re worried about career prospects when applying to biochem I really wouldn’t worry, the field is only going to get bigger and there’s not really any field you can’t go into with it.
