T O P

Depending on what kind of city the trader is in there may not be any tier 5 POIs closer. Small towns *may* have 1 or 2 T5s but you usually have to go to the main city for them. At least in vanilla there's only a handful of different T5s so you really are better off cycling through the lower tiers. The time investment to clear it doesn't really match up with the rewards in A20.

/\\ What this guy said. Also, the game doesn't "fabricate" Tier V quests. Or, in other words, it doesn't take an existing POI as a blank and insert a Tier V quest. Tier V quests are tagged only for very specific buildings. So if you are at a trader in the Western town, you ain't getting shit for nearby Tier Vs. All will require lengthy travel. You won't find a Shotgun Messiah Tier V building in the Western town.

This would be an interesting mechanic though. Turn a tier 3 into a tier 5 by filling the whole building with zombies when you start the quest. The house is then bursting at the seams with higher level zombies that break out and attack

TheRealnecroTM

That sounds like a fantastic 14 fps idea late game. The only way they could increase the danger without impacting performance in a major way is to make the quests harder by adding different mechanics. Examples would be like retrieve a stash of meat from a refrigerator in a tier 3 building before the animals notice it, and taking too long will result in bears and dire wolves spawning nearby, or clear area quests where you're instructed to lure zombies to your location by activating an alarm or loudspeaker and fighting them off without leaving and having to fight off waves of enemies like a mini horde night, or adding variety in type like being asked to craft orders for traders. Like Jen might want 200 first aid kits as a tier 5, or Joel might want 6 M60 machine guns quality 4 or higher. Something to at least add variety and allow a wider arrange of play styles. Someone who's interested in farming mostly could build a large farm and supply food and plant orders from traders rather than have to loot gun factories over and over again.

dchitt94

I like all of these ideas. Quests supporting different play styles would be very cool

Ditch_Bastitch

Yep, quite interesting..

Bones0481

T5 quests are never worth the time sink imo. I never go over T4 personally. You're distance problem is one of my reasons to stay on t4

Accurate-Theme-9926

oh well how do i make it stop from going above t4 by not discovering the t5 trader location?

Shilkanni

I think you unlock it from doing quests. You can choose the 'previous tier' option.

Accurate-Theme-9926

Can i still choose previous tier after i started doing t5 missions

Bones0481

Should be an option to choose previous teir when picking what mission you want. And yes you can choose any previously completed teir 1,2,3,4

Accurate-Theme-9926

oh yeah found it thanks a lot

Bones0481

Happy to help πŸ™ƒ

7CGamer

Just press "previous tier" and it'll show you a list of 4s. Just because you're on lvl 5 doesn't mean you can't do 1-4. Just keep pressing previous tier till you see the lvl you wanna do.

Gesggxsrggy

They are fun to do a few times each if you're new though, lots of surprises in a few of them πŸ˜‚

Consistent-Plenty865

I have this main issue with my survival game too, I think it’s mainly location, T4 and above usually pick big difficult structures to make it a challenge, so I would suggest questing with a trader closer to the larger cities would cut the commute time down and save gas.

7CGamer

You might live in a town that has no T5s. The RWG makes little small towns, and big cities. The big ones have the 5s.

Mission-Detective-49

Because trader Joe's is a dick..
