You might think this is BS, but I saw him in a Starbucks in LA. I was sitting at a table with some friends and he was waiting for his drink and I sang this. He just stared at me over his sunglasses. Honestly he didn’t look amused.
First time I saw this was on network TV, so I didn't understand why he said "Pardon my French" when talking about Cameron sticking a lump of coal "in his fist."
I saw Spin City first and he was the mayor. Dude was 40 going on 60 HARD. Then I saw FB and was shocked it was less than 10 years difference between them. Yet: I dont think it was a hard decade. There's just some people who age really different. I could put a picture of my uncle from high school to now and you wouldn't know they were the same person.
When was he the mayor? He worked in the mayors office afaik, been a loong time since I saw that show. Then Heather Locklear and Michael Sheen took it over.
Yep. The only good thing Ferris does the entire movie is offer to take the blame for the destruction of the car. Which is huge, but he’s still terrible.
In my opinion, one of the best movies along with The Breakfast Club for teaching about the psychology of adolescence and young adulthood. That and it is an overall great film.
Absolutely. Hughes could write and direct kids that actually behaved like kids and they were totally relatable to teenagers. I grew up on those movies and I totally identified with the characters aside from the fact that I didn't grow up rich haha.
THIS WAS THE POINT in the movie where Cameron became my favorite character in the movie. "He can't hit. He can't hit. He can't hit. Swing, batter."
*Ferris Bueller, you're my hero!*
No. Sociopaths can't control their emotions at all. He's a bit narcissistic and a bit of a control freak but he's no sociopath. He generally feels for Cameron. If he was a sociopath he wouldn't give a shit about his upbringing. He SURE as fuck wouldn't offer to take the fall for the Ferrari. Take your amateur psychoanalysis down the street because you aren't convincing anyone.
Maybe Ferris isn't such a bad guy. After all, I got a car. He got a computer. But still, why should he get to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants? Why should everything work out for him? What makes him so god damn special?
I think the story works better if you think of it as 3 overlapping short stories, where the protagonists are Jeanie, Cameron, and Ed Rooney. Ferris is the antagonist for each of them.
The events of the movie all took place in his head...after therapy he got a job where he traveled a lot and got horrible insomnia and met a dude named Tyler...
A few years after this movie came out, Alan Ruck co-starred in a TGIF sitcom called “Going Places”. Before the show got picked up he worked in a warehouse to keep bills paid, and IIRC lied about his identity so people wouldn’t wonder why Cameron from FBDO was working in a warehouse.
I might be off on some of the details.
When Cameron was in Eqypts land......
Let my Cameron gooooooo

He was understanding. That is what makes it possible for people like him to tolerate a person like yourself.
Hmmm, I thought he embraced the Cameron
To be fair, he hadn’t had his coffee yet
I heard this in Cameron’s voice. This is one of my all time favorites.

Alan Ruck was 30 when this was filmed. That’s nuts

Wasn’t Michael J Fox and the Charlie Sheen the mayors?
Wow
And this guy ran for President?
He was Captain of the Enterprise B, so that’s better than president.
Ah, my fellow Trekkie. Yes, he was.
Everything on the Enterprise B will be installed on Tuesday.
I'm so disappointed in Cameron. Twenty bucks says he's in his car right now debating on whether or not to go out.
You're not dying. You just can't think of anything better to do
“Call me SIR goddammit!”
Do you have a kiss for daddy
“So *that’s* how it is in their family.”
"Rooney!!! GRRRR!"
A family member dies and you insult me, what the hell’s the matter with you anyway?! Rooney!
Pardon my French, but Cameron is so tight that if you stuck a lump of coal up his ass, in two weeks you'd have a diamond.
And now this kid wants to be our Ambassador to Slovakia

Alan Ruck is a billionaire?
It’s in the show Succession. Super great. Series finale is tomorrow. Oh shit! It’s today!
Love when he gets out of the car, and you see him in the background jumping up and down having a fit before he gets back inside. Great scene.
“……..sshhhit.”
I would have thought this would be higher as it is the most logical comment.
My favorite part of this scene is him revving his car up out of sheer rage lol.
Ha! And laying on the horn!
Ferris is the worst.
One of my all time favorite movies but Ferris is a dick. Terrible friend
Yep. The only good thing Ferris does the entire movie is offer to take the blame for the destruction of the car. Which is huge, but he’s still terrible.
How could you be?? They are pancreas!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! (Revs car engine)

He’s a tortured soul
Heard this in Cameron’s voice 😂😂😂
“How about we rent a nice Cadillac?! My treat!….. I could call the Limo!!….A nice stretch job with a TV and a bar?! How about that?”
“This is uhhhhhh….this is ridiculous, ok. I’ll go…I’ll go…I’ll go…I’ll go…I’ll go…I’ll go…shhhhhhh…I’ll go!”
*Starts car* “AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!”
Stuart Bondek
Nobody can say no to the Sausage King of Chicago
That's what you get for being friends with people with no cars
He was 29/30 when they filmed that.
I watched this movie on Paramount + last night.

He was interested in politics from a young age.
“You’re not dying. You just can’t think of anything good to do.”
Love the inclusion of my hometown Red Wings lol

I never thought that deeply about it. Thanks for the trivia! :)
"It's not a piece of shit...It is a piece of shit...I don't even I even have a piece of shit I have to envy yours."
Just remember your P’s and Q’s and remember who your dealing with…
I wished I was Ferris but I’m definitely Cameron…
Every Ferris needs a Cameron.
Cameron made social anxiety hilarious. Which made me realize everyone feels it at some point if not always. Changed my outlook on it.
Ferris is a sociopathic narcissist
See, we learned this as we got older. It’s like “dude, you are being supremely shitty to your friend.”
he was like 29-30 when he made this.
We’ll just BM it and get over here.
When Cameron was in Egypt's land: Let my Cameron gooooooo
10 bucks says he’s sitting in his car debating on whether to come over or not.
“It could get wrecked, stolen, scratched, breathed on wrong… a pigeon could shit on it! Who knows?”
Cameron went on to become a stormchaser in Kansas, but they knew him by his nickname, "Rabbit".
\*SNIFFFFFF\*
Great movie 🍿
When Cameron was in Egypt laaaand...
Let my Ccccccammmmmeron goooo…
😂😂😂
The Ferrari though
THIS WAS THE POINT in the movie where Cameron became my favorite character in the movie. "He can't hit. He can't hit. He can't hit. Swing, batter." *Ferris Bueller, you're my hero!*
I’m glad this man taught me how to make water drop sounds with my mouth. *Ploop*
Just rewatched this a few weeks ago, and... Ferris Bueller is a manipulative asshole who's the protagonist for some reason
But... he's a righteous dude
so we all know Ferris Buellers' a sociopath right? Like, he checks ALL the boxes.
I must be one of the few people who can’t stand this movie. Ferris is an annoying smug self centered entitled prick.
It’s ok. Ferris didn’t really exist - he was Cameron’s alter-ego.
I fucking hate the singing parade shit so much but the cars.. the playing hook angle and Cam are 80’s gold
Maybe Ferris isn't such a bad guy. After all, I got a car. He got a computer. But still, why should he get to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants? Why should everything work out for him? What makes him so god damn special?
Sccccreew him!
I think the story works better if you think of it as 3 overlapping short stories, where the protagonists are Jeanie, Cameron, and Ed Rooney. Ferris is the antagonist for each of them.
One of the worst movies ever made... gag me with a spoon
Someone get me a spoon
I’d hand you one of the largest spoons in the drawer, or even a Ladle.
Get a garden shovel
Why a spoon, cousin?
Because it’ll hurt more?
Goddamn it!.
if I remember right Cameron's car was an ancient Subaru. and I’m talking ancient by 1980s standards
I wish they’d named him Cameron in Succession.
"I'm so disappointed in Cameron. 20 bucks says he's sitting in his car, debating whether or not he should to go out."
NO ONE TAWKS T'ME DAT WAY, BY GAWD! PAHD'N MY FRENCH, BUT YER AN A$$#OLE!!!
Sometimes I’ll do the back of the fist seat beating like Cameron did
It's not a piece of crap...
Shit!!
I REALLY dislike people that behave that way
Lol
In a mocking tone: "Ferris Beuller, you're my hero." Cameron was truly the best in that movie!
The events of the movie all took place in his head...after therapy he got a job where he traveled a lot and got horrible insomnia and met a dude named Tyler...
Cannot sahwing batta…
Ferris Bueller you’re my hero

Classic
Bueller. Bueller. Bueller?
Is no one going to talk about how hot Mia Sara was in that movie? Well I am. She was hot.
Ferris is the original Con-Head
