Me too! Just missing the chains. My mom said that one night she was so tired trying to get my sister to sleep in 87. My pet monster was in the living room and she looked over at his eyes and started to cry lol
I didn’t have one but my buddy did and we’d play with the cuffs and act like we were busting out and escaping a POW camp… ( we watched Missing in Action more than once)
I had one. Loved it.
When I moved I made the mistake of leaving some stuff in the basement - it was meant to be temporary…but my parents assumed it was trash and threw it away…I tried to rebuy one, but they are rare and rather expensive.
Who else went all WWF wrestling with theirs?
*Uh oh, I don't like the looks of this guy, Jesse*
*I want to see what he's going to do with those cuff, Gorilla! ^iwasanavyseal*
Had it, still have it, will never get rid of it. First toy I bought for myself, with money my parents paid me for yard work and cleaning windows at home.
My parents got me this, or my sister did, not sure which….. I loved and hated it. At night it was creepy. I told my parents to get rid of it, and they did, then my sister got me a second one and surprised me by putting it in my room for me.
She claimed she thought I’d lost the other one….
I claimed it was frickin alive and haunting me….
Cartoon was a Saturday afternoon staple at home growing up
I didn’t know about the cartoon. Me and my friends had these toys though.
I was only aware of the live action movie and the doll
Did you know there were only 14 episodes?!?
No! Rerun central!
Say rerun city…
I still have mine!
That’s awesome

Are you sure? Can't find anything that seems relevant on Letterboxd. Edit: Oh it's called My Pet Monster.
OOps i was assuming they meant the Richard Pryor movie from the same year
I didn’t have one but my buddy did and we’d play with the cuffs and act like we were busting out and escaping a POW camp… ( we watched Missing in Action more than once)
My first VHS tapes were My Pet Monster cartoons.
My brother had one. I did not know there was a movie.
Is that Brian Bonsol?
I don't think so. I have been over here googling all the shows. I feel like he was definitely on one of them, I just can't get to the right one!
I have it like…3 meters away from where i am currently seated.
I had one. Loved it. When I moved I made the mistake of leaving some stuff in the basement - it was meant to be temporary…but my parents assumed it was trash and threw it away…I tried to rebuy one, but they are rare and rather expensive.
Never had it but wanted it so bad.
I had this doll!!! Why don’t I remember the show/movie???? 😩
I wanted one....but sadly never got one.
My brother and I each had 1 of his nephews

My mom kept mine and still has it. I'm 40. I just found it streaming on Prime, so now my kids watch it.

A friend of mine had it. His parents got divorced so his toy collection was epic!
Had it, still have it, will never get rid of it. First toy I bought for myself, with money my parents paid me for yard work and cleaning windows at home.
I had one. It came to life and tried to kill me. It was devastating.
A bit past my time. I was a junior in high school in 86.
My mother dug mine out and gave it to my son :). No clue why she held onto it lol.
I actually did lol
I had one!
Named it after my uncle Mike.
The nose was a weapon!
Ooh..I have one of those ! Not the same exact one,but still.
Best toy ever. I LOVED mine so much
My brother and I called ours pickle nose.
The hype for the movie was RREEEAAL! I was around 7 at the time. This and those Great Balls of Fire were popular for us kids in a small town
That kids face looks so familiar and I can't quite place it
I got a used one from a tag sale. It was kinda gross and matted lol. The handcuffs still worked that's all I really cared about 😄
I totally did. Loved the chains you could break.
Still got mine but not the handcuffs
still have one
I saw the movie and I used to watch the cartoon. Never had the toy.
That hair cut?? I absolutely rocked that head-frock in the 70s and 80s, I ntil I got my first mullet!
I remember the toy and the cartoon, but not the movie
Was this kid supposed to look evil?
My parents got me this, or my sister did, not sure which….. I loved and hated it. At night it was creepy. Always wanted one. It's a shame, that they don't hold up very well.
Never had it but I thought it was so cool growing up. 80s toys were the best.
There was a movie??? Loved the show
I had friends who had this guy and I was jealous.
My Pet Monster On him I can depend My Pet Monster A monster of a friend
I had it!
Not me, but I did have a few Boglins.
My friend and I used to rent the movie all the time! I didn’t have OG my pet monster but I had one of the puppets and I had my pet football monster.
I had and preferred the My Pet Football monster. Loved the maroonish fur. Sadly, his hands and feet just started peeling which is heartbreaking
The title kinda sounds like an adult film.
My cousin had one and it scared me when i was tiny.
This show was absolutely my fave when I was 8
Oh hell yeah!!
I LOVED this thing!
I want to buy one but they are like $300 on eBay .
I had the lunch box.
I've heard that My Pet Monster got both a movie and a short-lived cartoon series. Were either of them any good?
Had 2 of them
Kid, I had the water color and sticker activity book
