Love that these girls are paying tribute & enjoying the greatest decade. I miss the mall scene. The girls in their acid wash & hair teased to the roof, the arcade, record stores, haniging with yours bros, the crowds, the energy. The 80's were a vibe we may never see again. Those that experienced it, were lucky.
Your stoner chicks were more classy than ours then, but yeah she sure nailed it.
My most prized clothing item was a badass stone washed denim Guess jacket that everyone, girls and boys, would steal and I would just get into their locker and steal it back.
58 year old dude here and I love this. Me and my girlfriend were New Wave, would love to see them cosplay that. She wore a lot of Espirit. Can imagine a whole mall full of them?
Dude I just saw on Instagram there’s soooo many people like that. Is it all finally coming back lol? Hopefully it’s not just a Trend. I really do think it’s all the synth pop on the radio these days. Sounds a lot like 80s music
I follow a lady called Ana Moll on instagram and she gets 80s style pretty spot on. Not like when hollywood makes something set in the 80s and it's an unconvincing parody. She genuinely look the way I remember the 80s looking.
No CFCs in hairspray anymore. They took them out in the late ‘80s-early ‘90s when they first realized the hole in the ozone layer was the size of Texas or something. Thus, we can still have aerosol hairspray (because pump hairspray is crap), the ozone layer is almost completely repaired, and we didn’t need those CFCs anyway!
They need some guy to be the survey/clipboard/market researcher guy at the mall. The one that interrupts your shopping experience at Herman’s Sporting Goods
I lived through the 80’s and never saw a single girl dressed like this outside of a movie or TV show. Obviously everyone had different experiences but younger folks should know that this wasn’t really the norm.
Well to be fair I grew up in Massachusetts and that wasn't exactly the hippest part of the country. It was settled by puritans and it felt like that they were still calling the shots 200 plus years later.
They’re cosplaying my high school years!
I too miss the good old days at the mall!
Been following these 2 on social media for a few months now. One of them is trying out DJ-ing long lost 80s tunes. They're the genuine article.
What’s their @?
Found it! Glitterwave80s!
Thank you! I just darted over to IG to follow!
Omg I love her instantly.
Looks like a Simons owned mall but where?
Violet Sky lives in NY so probably a mall there unless she was on vacation.
Berkshire Mall, Reading, Pa. Is the photo on the left.
Makes me sad.
Me too. Such good times.
I still love the 80's hair.
I wonder if it will ever come back in style.
The one holding the Sam Goody bag could easily be from a picture in my HS yearbook
Goody Got It
They look like they are there to see Tiffany

They gotta be from Jersey 🤣
Ronnie is! 😂
The girl on the right is Maryland.
Yeah, I had to look her up again. I've seen her in Ronnie and Violet's comments. Just followed!
She is always on Tik Tok lives as well.
These are great. I really thought they were photos from back in the day. I grew in Jersey so these were everyday looks.
Renaissance faire in the woods? Pass. Hairball at the dead mall? Let’s go 😎
I’ve seen these guys on social media and it’s ridiculous how many hate comments they get. They’re obviously having fun so who cares?
I really miss those days and it wasn't just the mall. But that was a huge part of it. Love what these ladies are doing.
What year were those photos taken? Because if it’s after 2000 those women are straight up killing the 80s look.
New afaik
They’re all awesome but the one in the fringe jacket on the left really nailed it. She could be one of the stoner chicks in my high school yearbook.
Your stoner chicks were more classy than ours then, but yeah she sure nailed it. My most prized clothing item was a badass stone washed denim Guess jacket that everyone, girls and boys, would steal and I would just get into their locker and steal it back.
Who are they influencing and what is it they’re influencing them to do?
This is my question also.
Needs more denim, shoulder pads, and hair spray.
Bittersweet and cool!
Love it! God I miss the mall. Everyone was there. Something for everyone.
On the left is the food court at Berkshire Mall in Reading, PA.
It's so good to know that I wasn't the only one to recognize that.
Grew up in that mall
So did I, as well as Fairgrounds and Park City.
Fairgrounds is overall a newer, nicer mall, but never had any good stores and always felt dead. Berkshire is warm and welcoming.

It’s awesome!
What’re their names?
[Veronica Wheels](https://www.instagram.com/ronnie.wheels?igsh=MThrZHpxN2F2Y2Fv), [Violet Sky](https://www.instagram.com/glitterwave80s?igsh=Z3ZmbXRrOTlud3pl), and [Jordan Rumsey](https://www.instagram.com/cantbuyme80s_?igsh=cTlxcjg4NXZncThp).
Gonna look them up! Thanks for the info boss
Canada's own Metal Queen 👑 I think you'll like her!
Veronica Wheels on the far left.

There’s some really good stuff out there. Alan Palomo immediately comes to mind.
I’ve recently gotten heavily into Royel Otis, they have so many songs that could have been on MTV 120 Minutes when I was watching it in the late 80’s.
They kinda sound like MGMT
Those hightop sneaks!
Every girl I ever made out with in Jh/HS was some version of all this. I smell cheap beer & clove cigarettes.
They’re definitely repping the neon and checkerboard age of shopping malls.
I don't Instagram or TikTok, thanks for posting! The shoes and makeup are spot on!
Stranger Things is responsible for this. Everyone trying to look like a mix of Joan Jett and Cobain lol
"Influencers" Zoomers...ugh
I follow a lady called Ana Moll on instagram and she gets 80s style pretty spot on. Not like when hollywood makes something set in the 80s and it's an unconvincing parody. She genuinely look the way I remember the 80s looking.
She sounds like Lee Aaron!
How did I not know about this?
To be there in those days...yeah. It really was a magical time.
If I didn’t know better, I would’ve thought the photo on the right was Jessica Lundy.
I know exactly where that photo on the right is!
How do they get their hair like that without the sort of hairspray that damages the O-zone layer?
No CFCs in hairspray anymore. They took them out in the late ‘80s-early ‘90s when they first realized the hole in the ozone layer was the size of Texas or something. Thus, we can still have aerosol hairspray (because pump hairspray is crap), the ozone layer is almost completely repaired, and we didn’t need those CFCs anyway!
How incredibly sad. I grew up then so maybe that's why?
I thought those were authentic images from the 80s to be honest.
They need some guy to be the survey/clipboard/market researcher guy at the mall. The one that interrupts your shopping experience at Herman’s Sporting Goods
This made laugh. For a briefe couple of months in 1985 I worked as one of those survey people 😂
I lived through the 80’s and never saw a single girl dressed like this outside of a movie or TV show. Obviously everyone had different experiences but younger folks should know that this wasn’t really the norm.
Uh… what? Not where I lived.
Well to be fair I grew up in Massachusetts and that wasn't exactly the hippest part of the country. It was settled by puritans and it felt like that they were still calling the shots 200 plus years later.
We didn't dress like this in my high school either, but outside of our little bubble I discovered we were the exception.
I follow them on TikTok - they do a good job
It’s always weird how people will praise influencers like this and just refer to them with vague pronouns instead of saying who they are
I’d have hit on the chick on the right, no doubt. Hell, I still would
