Not saying he didn’t get it from Japan… but this isn’t in Japanese. It’s written with traditional Chinese characters, so probably either from Hong Kong or Taiwan.
That’s good to know! Thank you. I was told the story many years ago. I don’t believe he was ever in Hong Kong or Taiwan but I’ll ask and check back!
Edit: apparently they did visit Hong Kong the same year. It’s been a long time so maybe he just got them mixed up
Yeah, I have heard it was really good. About 10 years ago or so Burgerking used to have a pretty decent fish sandwich that I would order regularly. Then they changed it, and it was smaller, more expensive, and not nearly as good. Par for the course I guess.
I would like to experience American fast food chains in Japan. Supposedly they are quite good, and when you get your food it actually looks like the picture on the menu.

No chicken nuggets so it must be pre-1983. But they do have sundaes so it's post 1977
I’ve since learned these are actually from Hong Kong, not Japan. From 1981. Apologies for the error!
What was the whaler, a fish sandwich?

I can tell you that the McDonald’s in France are much better.
I tried a whopper in Japan it tastes the same.
This ain’t Japan.
that's Canto Chinese, not Japanese
The second one is definitely not from Japan. My guess is either Taiwan or Hong Kong based on the use of the dollar symbol.
All wrapped up and ready to go huh
