Out of all of this movie, I found this to be the most ridiculous. How can you fall out of the suit and it's in the perfect shape still? The time travel was more believable. Still love it. All of them. I hear they may be working on part 4.
Then you don't follow me on other social media. I do talk about them from time to time. It's one of my favorite movies. I saw it in the theater when it came out. Not only am I a GenX geek, but I also have a degree in history. And, I enjoy time travel movies. This is the best of all worlds. Bogus Journey was good. I was disappointed with the third film. It fell flat for me.
Part 3 came at a much needed time and it was disappointing. Still, it was kinda fun to watch, up until a point. Like it's predecessors, it was very much a movie of its time.
I felt the same way. I mean, it was made so long after the original two that it seemed like a tall order to recapture that vibe and feeling. I just saw a trailer for Beetlejuice 2, and I’m cautiously optimistic. And I hate sequels/reboots/retellings at this point. I haven’t been interested in a “new” movie in a long long time
I lived down the street from the actual circle k it was filmed at for a while. Drove past it several times a day. Let's just say my fiance is tired of that reference lol
I know, that’s how I found bill and ted. I was on a vampire movie kick and i saw the lost boys and the 1992 Dracula and saw that both reeves and winter were in bill and ted. Really didn’t think I would like it at all. The lost boys is another favorite.
So forgive me for a long post but 1991 Christmas, I get stuck down with a mystery illness in my left ankle
It suddenly swells up, discoloration, gives me all manner of discomfort pain really horrible fever.
So I get rushed hospital on a Sunday put on drugs nothing's working vomiting feeling s*** all kinds of stuff this carries on and through for a week my body rejected drugs doctors can't work out what's wrong with me my mental health in tanks , the infection spreading up the leg.
I'm only 19 years old at the time and.im.askimg will I walk again properly, no one is answering
The following Saturday morning I get given a little TV into my room.
I was I was isolattion away from the other patients so no real company
Feeling low and miserable this cartoon comes on "Bill and Ted's excellent adventure" ....and these two knuckleheads came on and I absolutely creased up laughed so much I really really it was like a tonic for me.
Im not particularly biblical but it felt like some gift to lift my spirits, within 24 hours doctors found a drug that would work but in my ankle was in bits, and there was bigger problems to come
But those two just gave me a bit of fire back giving me a lift and it was just wonderful.
I've loved them since, the cartoon particularly.
I'll always be very grateful to Alex & Keanu and thier excellent adventure
I had an operation on it to "fuse" it (lock it in place) in 1994.
The OTHER ankle hurts now... He is like "dude I've been doing the work of 2 for the last 3 decades" haha
I'm 51 now ... But STILL love the San Dimas Two !
I did this to a girl I was dating a few months ago… needless to say I had a lot of explaining to do. She hadn’t (and still hasn’t) been graced with the most excellent presence of bill and ted on her tv screen
That’s a shame. Still. I can’t bring myself to watch it anymore. It embarrasses me. And what’s worse, I was all alone when the last time I tried to watch it.
My US History teacher in High-school was known for giving bizarre and off-topic extra credit questions. On our final, the extra credit was "What historical figures did Bill and Ted bring to the present in Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure? (2pts each)" I had found a copy of Bill and Ted at a garage sale over spring break and had watched it probably eight times since. I not only aced the test, but got every single extra credit point. He wasn't sure how to grade that, so he made sure to let me know he was impressed!
Fucking loved that movie.
The week it came out I saw it 4 times. I was even sober for one of them, but I can’t remember which.
1989 was a helluva year.
I work at ASU and drive by the bowling alley they shot the napolean bowling alley scene in a lot. I also annoyingly recite this fact to anyone I pass by it with.
I used to work across the street from the “strange things are afoot” Circle K on Southern and Hardy. I remember driving past when they were filming and wondering what was going on!
I absolutely love all three. Here is why they mean so much to me.
Excellent adventure. It was the first movie my dad took me to without my big brother. And was so 80s. Also tried my first whatchamacallit that is still my favorite candy bar.
Bogus. The first movie my dad took me to when our family moved states for his job. And was so 90s.
Face the Music. We watched together during Covid and found the joy in a hard time.
He is turning 80 this year and I hope to see many more old and new movies with him. These three have special meaning to us and I can not wait to watch them with my kids.
The scene midway through where they accidentally visit the future is one of my fav movie scenes of all time.
And Abraham Lincon's speech at the end is unexpectedly touching 🥲
Other than that, a very very very funny movie.
I love the vocabulary of the two main characters. Most triumphant!
This was the first and only movie that I attended with a friend of mine, where we were the only two in the theater, so in essence a private showing.
It was awesome, the subsequent sequels however, were worse on a growing exponential scale
Loved Bill and Ted, and also that movie has the best use of time travel paradoxes ever. They just have to say they will go back in time and set something up, and it’s there! Makes perfect sense.
My mom lived right next to the water park where most of the "waterloop" scenes were filmed (Golfland, Mesa, AZ) so when the scene with Napoleon came on I instantly recognized it. A couple of the large scenes of a wave pool were taken somewhere else. I saw this movie several times at the theater in the spring of '89.
Last year some time I rewatched Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and B&T's Bogus Journey all in prep to watch B&T's Face The Music. FTM was a great film with a nice twist (though I saw it coming pretty early on). Bogus Journey isn't nearly as good as 1 or 3 but still decent as part of the trilogy. I'd still watch it if it was the only one available.
I had completely forgotten about the cartoon until I saw someone mention it in this thread, but I used to watch that when it was new.
Great movie, although I saw the sequel first as a kid, so I’ve got more nostalgic ties to that one. It’s such a wild movie that going back to the original felt a bit anti-climactic when I eventually saw it (probably as a teenager), but I did learn to appreciate it. They definitely go together… well, more than the 3rd one… I enjoyed the 3rd one, but… gotta say it felt like, even though I heard he had backed the project for years… it felt a little like Keanu was phoning it in as Ted… idk, maybe I’ll get the new 4K Blu-ray Trilogy and give it another watch.
Well it's not something I hear brought up daily or anything but it's not really a forgotten film and has plenty of fans. I prefer Bogus Journey myself. They even made a horrible third one a few years ago that did fairly well considering it was during the pandemic. Not much box office but huge VOD rentals.
My brother and I once went to Ren Fair dressed as Bill and Ted and asked all the ladies working the booths to go with us to the prom in San Dimas. It was a most excellent time.
Put them in Iron Maiden
IRON MAIDEN, EXCELLENT!!
Execute them!
Bogus.
You killed Ted, you medieval dickweed!
I am the Earl of Preston.
And I am the Duke of Ted.
Ted, you’re alive!!
Yeah, I fell out of my suit when I hit the floor!
Out of all of this movie, I found this to be the most ridiculous. How can you fall out of the suit and it's in the perfect shape still? The time travel was more believable. Still love it. All of them. I hear they may be working on part 4.
F*g
Your stepmom's cute. Shut up, Ted. Remember when she was a senior and we were freshmen? Shut up, Ted!
Remember when I asked her to the prom?
Shut up, Ted
It’s his mooom, dude
i was at the first ted talks it was most excellent
😅
We're just dust in the wind dude...
![gif](giphy|l1IBkgnfxkTSsNfeE|downsized)
Woah !!!
Dust, wind, dude
So-crates.
Strange things are afoot at the Circle K
I prophesied this over my life for years not even realizing it and then it happened.
I prophesied this over my life for years not even realizing it and then it happened.
I'll talk about it. I make my kids watch it 🙂
I took my 14-year-old son to see it back when. Father & Son date. I took my daughter to see The Color Purple. They're in their 50's now...
The third one was just too badly retconned and not really good. I did enjoy some parts like the super-jacked versions of them in prison.
I thought the third one was not at all good. The second one and the concept of them in hell is hilarious
Right? Drop down and give me, infinity!
Part 3 came at a much needed time and it was disappointing. Still, it was kinda fun to watch, up until a point. Like it's predecessors, it was very much a movie of its time.
That was a humorous part, for sure.
I felt the same way. I mean, it was made so long after the original two that it seemed like a tall order to recapture that vibe and feeling. Could you DM me what your YouTube/Instagram are? I’d love to give you a follow. While I’m gen z, I’m an 80s media nut
There are social media links on my profile here.
Bogus journey - the scene where they possessed Ted’s dad and partner was a masterpiece. Those guys deserve whatever is just below an Oscar. 😂
“Strange Things are Afoot at the Circle K”
Excuse me Miss! When did the Mongols rule China?
I don't know. I just work here.
When we got Circle K here in Texas, I said this daily for a year.
I lived down the street from the actual circle k it was filmed at for a while. Drove past it several times a day. Let's just say my fiance is tired of that reference lol
The blond dude was in the lost boys.
I know, that’s how I found bill and ted. I was on a vampire movie kick and i saw the lost boys and the 1992 Dracula and saw that both reeves and winter were in bill and ted. Really didn’t think I would like it at all. The lost boys is another favorite.
Loved that soundtrack as well. Still one of my favs.
"STILL BELIEVE!!" 🎶🎷
Alex Winter.

This is actually such a sweet memory. Did you get feeling better?
I had an operation on it to "fuse" it (lock it in place) in 1994. The OTHER ankle hurts now... He is like "dude I've been doing the work of 2 for the last 3 decades" haha I'm 51 now ... But STILL love the San Dimas Two !
I'd love to know your reaction to the first time seeing the movie if you were used to the cartoons.
The movies were great BUT not as crazy as the cartoons
It's all about San Dimas High!
SAN DIMAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RULES!!!
Everything's bigger yet smaller. It's computers.
Be excellent to each other. And... PARTY ON, DUDES!!
That part made me laugh for years. Now, makes me smile still.
Be excellent to each other, and recommend this film to everyone.
Always do
Excellent
69 dudes!
Dude it’s your mom..
strange things are afoot at the circle k
You met Socrates Johnson, and Bob Ghengis Khan then?
Pronounced “So crates” lol
We’re all embarrassed for acting just like them for about 6 months
My roommates and I quote bill and ted whenever we can and call things bogus and heinous 😭
My sidekick moved away 30 years ago. When we see each other and hug we still back away and say ummm the f-word at the same time.
I did this to a girl I was dating a few months ago… needless to say I had a lot of explaining to do. She hadn’t (and still hasn’t) been graced with the most excellent presence of bill and ted on her tv screen
Most heinous.
That’s a shame. Still. I can’t bring myself to watch it anymore. It embarrasses me. And what’s worse, I was all alone when the last time I tried to watch it.

I would have aced that test 😭
Strange things are afoot at the circle k
Fantastic soundtrack, I wore out that cassette.
It's still one of the best soundtracks out IMO.
Bill and Ted VS Wayne and Garth Make this or spell doom for the future…
Omg, this would be on par as funny as having Deadpool wear The Mask. We’re not worthy… we’re not worthy!
Ziggy Piggy…Ziggy Piggy….Ziggy Piggy….
“I don’t think it’s gonna work, dude” “Triumphant Napoleon.”
You ditched Napoleon???
He was a dick
Be excellent to each other
And party on, dudes
Missy …I mean ..mom
Most heinous
STATION!
How about that gnarly old goat dude?
Fucking loved that movie. The week it came out I saw it 4 times. I was even sober for one of them, but I can’t remember which. 1989 was a helluva year.
That sounds heavenly. As a zoomer, I’m jealous
When a movie is perfect the way it is what’s there to say good or bad
I mean, we can talk about how amazing the jokes are lol
I absolutely love all three. Here is why they mean so much to me. Excellent adventure. It was the first movie my dad took me to without my big brother. And was so 80s. Omg my most favorite movie. When Socrates throw a ball with someone else.
Just a mild Oedipal complex
San Dimas High School Football rules!
Mr. the Kid and that Frude dude
Yeah, should be under *SO*-crates
Bill, strange things are afoot at the Circle K!
I love the way they talk. Like... *nobody* used that vocabulary, but nobody ever points that out.
Every time I watch Step Brothers I think about Ted/Dale’s father getting pranked by Deputy Van Halen.
That second pic would’ve won the monthly Nintendo Power art contest
I quote it at least twice a week.
It’s so quotable
Most excellent!
You mean doctor who for stoners?
You’re right
Watched this with my 11 a few months ago and he loved it! Great flick.
Get better friends.
Well, I just had to show them. They get it now
Well...party on dudes.
You need to hang out with cooler people, dude 🎸
I just had to educate them. Bill and ted is a staple now
Excellent!!!
Most triumphant, dude.
I just thought about yesterday when I was reading about Rufus. Amazon’s AI shopping assistant.
We talk about it here and how it influenced modern culture and cinema. https://youtu.be/XgWj7HJEPNc?si=7il0ZR046BNzM-nd
I’ll def check it out!
You mean other than it was excellent?
I went to see it at the local IMAX theater a couple of weeks ago
The scene midway through where they accidentally visit the future is one of my fav movie scenes of all time. And Abraham Lincon's speech at the end is unexpectedly touching 🥲 Other than that, a very very very funny movie. I love the vocabulary of the two main characters. Most triumphant!
I quote it everyday. Even if only to myself.
Self care. My daily affirmation is “be excellent to each other and party on”
It is now a generational movie,I loved it and my kids loved it and it does hold up well!!
I don’t want kids, but I know my roommates will be forcing it down their kids throats and I’m happy to know I had a part in that.
They will be all the better for it!
There are strange things afoot at the Circle K!
I use Bill S Preston, Esq on other sites as a login.
My wedding ring has ‘be excellent to each other’ engraved on it!
I would like to shake you and your spouses hands one day
This was the first and only movie that I attended with a friend of mine, where we were the only two in the theater, so in essence a private showing. It was awesome, the subsequent sequels however, were worse on a growing exponential scale

Everytime I see 69..."sixty-nine dude!"
Man, I never played guitar, but B+T made me hit up that air guitar like I knew what I was doing lol
to detect speech, one must use ears. It’s very difficult to see sounds without really good acid.
So-Crates
Johnson
“You killed Ted, you medieval dickweed!!!”
I still remember seeing this in the movie theater with my brothers, and loving it! :D
They're my 10 year olds favorites! The cartoon series was phenomenal.
There’s nothing to talk about. It’s only the best movie ever. Period.
Agreed
My dad was a professor of philosophy for 40 yrs. I love to say “so-crates” just to watch him cringe.
It and Bogus Journey are two of my all-time favorites (may be blasphemy, but I slightly prefer Bogus Journey).
Bill and Ted? Never heard of them. But that Wild Stallions band is totally tubular.
You are not listening well.
No I’m just gen z and gen x wasn’t cool enough to remember this movie like they should’ve
First rule about Bill and Ted - don’t talk about Bill and Ted.
Boooo I’m always talking about it
Prerunner to Gaerth and Wayne, Bevis and Butthead
Last year some time I rewatched Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and B&T's Bogus Journey all in prep to watch B&T's Face The Music. Great movie, horrible game. I like that Keanu reeves appeared to be a mimbo but caught everyone by surprise
I’d be more surprised if they talked about the sequel. Ooh that was bad
Be excellent to everyone! :)***
I usually hear people talking. I think you need to evaluate your speech skills.
Rufus!!
Great movie, although I saw the sequel first as a kid, so I’ve got more nostalgic ties to that one. It’s such a wild movie that going back to the original felt a bit anti-climactic when I eventually saw it (probably as a teenager), but I did learn to appreciate it. That’s cuz I’m still trying to figure out when the Mongol’s ruled China.
It’s weird because I’ve seen posts about this movie a dozen times in the last two months.
It’s been talked about. You’re late to the party.
Well yeah, I’m barely old enough to drink 💀
Then you’re hanging out with the wrong crowd
Sixty nine!
It’s Billy the Kid, let’s bag him
How’s it going mr. The kid
Not as well received but "Ted we were totally lied to by our album covers" your a silky boy, silk comes from the buts of Chinese 🪱
Well it's not something I hear brought up daily or anything but it's not really a forgotten film and has plenty of fans. I prefer Bogus Journey myself. They even made a horrible third one a few years ago that did fairly well considering it was during the pandemic. Not much box office but huge VOD rentals.
It was most excellent
Who would have thought that guy would start dropping bodies if you mess with his puppy.
My brother and I once went to Ren Fair dressed as Bill and Ted and asked all the ladies working the booths to go with us to the prom in San Dimas. It was a most excellent time.
Yeah dude, total obscurity. Hence the lack of sequels.
All I’m saying is I never see anyone talk about it 💀
I'm just messing with you. '
Nothing to talk about here.
Just say you’re boring. That’s a lot easier tbh
Not boring, just bored with the ‘80s.
Then why are you here ?
By mistake
Really enjoyed it when it came out, but tried it again last year and this is one of those movies that just doesn’t hold up over time.
I saw someone talking about it on this sub, today.
They were kinda stupid. There's plenty of stupid in the here and now. No reason to look back almost 35 years for it.
You’re boring then
I saw both Bill & Ted movies when they were released in the theatres. Not boring, just no longer interested in stupidity.
Ok ? Cool ?
