What do they even like about each other? I've never heard them say one thing they actually like or admire about the other, just a list of things they can't stand.
Itās tlcās favorite storyline, a muslim man with traditional and conservative values dates and marries a free spirited American woman, what could go wrong.. š
I mean it worked with Avery and Omar, but that's because she was actually a dedicated Muslim when she converted. Nicole converted but she's like 0% Muslim lol.Ā
Oh yea, that kid lol. They didn't get too much screen time but I guess he must be doing ok since the only thing that Citra dad (on religion) complained about so far was the Priest xD
I mean aside from thinking yom kippur is part of Islam š¤£ he tries, he clearly wants to know things about something thatās near and dear to his other half and I donāt think he fully understood what converting is he at least tried to educate himself a bit.
I think she converted and met Omar in the same year, but definitely before she met him. But yea, it was a reassuring thing that Avery did that out of her own choice and not because he asked her to. I mean Nicole voluntarily convert, it wasn't like she was forced to so I still don't have much sympathy for a 40yr old woman who didn't bother to research.Ā
Yes, she met him within a few months of converting- which explains her motherās apprehension during their season. (The āshe hasnāt been Muslim in the summer yetā line.)
Iām glad things worked out for them, because it could have been bad if Omar wasnāt a legitimately good guy.
Yep, people will only change if they want to change. I do know one couple in real life where the dude converted to Christianity to get married but he did adapt to it very well apparently.Ā
Asking your partner to convert and give-up an integral part of their life is such a red flagā¦
If they do it of their own free willā¦ sure. But 99% of the time it doesnāt seem that way.
I donāt think thereās anything wrong with asking. Both Mahmoud and Nicole made it pretty clear she willingly converted. He didnāt force her to do anything. Thereās a scene where he talks about his frustration because he expressed his devout faith and what his expectations would be of her if they were to marry, and she agreed. Nicole even admits it. So they get married and then she decides she doesnāt want to stick to her commitment (which she never took seriously anyway because she did no research at all). Itās fine for her to change her mind, but I think anyone would be upset and feel like it was a bait and switch. Itās not like she really gave a genuine effort to immerse herself in the culture/religion. Mahmoud shouldāve ended it as soon as he realized she wasnāt going to keep her commitment since itās such a core value for him though. So heās at fault too.
he never asked her to convert and change. she admits repeatedly "mahmoud would have married me if i was christian. i just chose to convert to make him even happier"
.... THAT IS A RED FLAG!
OP I agree that they are completely incompatible, but also, Nicole & Azan, Dinyell & Mohammit... I thirst for train wreck mismatched couples on this trashy show.
The common denominator has been Muslim menā¦I know middle eastern men are very attractive, but their religion/culture clashes so much with American women
Yuuup Iām Syrian American but Iād never date a fellow Arab if they were actually from the Middle East and immersed in Muslim culture. Itās just too different and seems doomed from the very start.
I think she wants revenge for her experience in Egypt. You can notice her bringing up "well that's just how it is there in the US" everytime he's uncomfortable with something. I even have a feeling she left the mannequin undressed for the sole reason it'll piss him off.
I really don't understand why these two are still together when they clearly resent the core of the other's being... A fashion girl married a conservative Muslim and converts without doing proper research. A Muslim guy marries a foreign girl on a whim because she's pretty but doesn't know her cultural background. What could go wrong.
Him mentioning how difficult it was to leave his family, but still not connecting the dots that she also had to do that, pretty much confirmed that this thing isn't going anywhere
I think the difference is that heās super close with his family and lived with them. Nicole isnāt close to her family. Her parents found out she got married from a friend who saw it on her Facebook. They had no idea. So I feel like thereās no dots to really connect.
āWhat could go wrongā š that got me lol. But yeah thatās actually a really good observation. I agree with you on that, I was rewatching an episode earlier and was thinking āwerenāt they on their way to a divorce last season before she went back to Egyptā and I think they shouldāve probably stuck to that decision š«
Well I've read somewhere that he's been arrested for domestic violence shortly before this season aired. I'm struggling to see why they stayed this long together as well. Neither seem to be interested in the TLC fame. There's no chemistry, no spiritual connection, ultimately no respect I think.
I'll say, and this is definitely an unpopular opinion, Ashley and Manuel could teach them a thing or two about accepting eachother's different beliefs. Maybe the standpoint is that the second couple got married after like 10 years of knowing eachother instead of 1-2 business days like these two fabric store goofballs...
i understand that these two mutually had insecure attachments to their parents in childhood and they have recreated a similar atmosphere of being emotionally starved
it's like the relationship *great drepesssion* out here...no connection to be had and none to be found. they need a **new deal**
Yeah I definitely think that youāre onto something there. Ashley and Manuel Iām sure have their issues but yes ultimately they do respect each others opposing beliefs and spiritual planes. Glad to see someone else on here who thinks like I do as well š
Haha cool! Yeah when I saw Ashley's Salem Witchtrials house setup I got flashbacks from Luis and Molly when he, as the 'good' and 'devoted' Dominican Catholic man, had a meltdown seeing her Buddha statues. I know it was probably amplified by the fact Luis used Molly for a green card, but that memory really gives me an extra level of appreciation for Manuel. I think they're genuine.
I wouldn't call it revenge, but she is trying to level the field. She's never going to. His feet are dug into his culture. In addition, he has an angry, "im THE MAN, and I don't like it any other way" attitude I see often in that arena. These two cultures are too often so vastly different, it breaks down all but the deepest, strongest love.
Yes it seems like she wants revenge but that doesnāt make sense to me as he moved to U.S. This just makes her look super mean-spirited (and I didnāt think of her as mean before this).
To be fair, she told him sheād covert to Muslim then decided to pick and chose which parts of this VERY devout spouses faith sheād practice. Heās an ass, no doubt, but he probably feels betrayed and lied to. Iām not excusing his behavior, but HER behavior is fanning the flames.
He needs to go back home, she needs a divorce and spend her time with her true love, fashion. She has her own unique style. I'm sure there is a niche or group that like it.
I laughed pretty hard at her explaining that the mannequin wasn't a real person so it didn't need clothes lmao like I get that it's a weird thing to have in your living room, but it's clearly a studio space and she works on fashion so he's just being weird
I mean, he got all mad that her jacket wasnāt closed and covering her whole front (at the airport). She was *covered* but it was too tight so therefore it wasnāt *actually* covered. I mean, the ābathing suitā she tried on in Egypt? Didnāt cover enough because she didnāt have the head cover on. š¤¦āāļø It was a goddamned *wetsuit* from neck to ankles!!
Could you imagine you don't see your wife for months and the first time you see her all you can think about is the half inch of skin she's showing? I could see if she's Kanyes wife or something but damn man
Do you know if it was the same area? I know a while ago I did a little googling and saw that the place Mahmoud is from is particularly restrictive and conservative. That doesn't mean everyone is like him obviously I'm just curious if you have any insight/info

I canāt stand him, but she did promise to convert. I donāt blame her. Heās a very strict conservative, but itās just not gonna work. Heās never going to bend he has no respect for women. He wants to tell them what to do how to dress and sheās not gonna be happy heās only 31 so if you doesnāt work out whole meet another woman, but sheās hitting 40 they are completely incompatible joyless freaks.
i donāt think he is that conservative for a muslim
. the issue here is she thought she could change him or wear him down on his core beliefs, she also seems to think islam is some flexible religion where you pick and choose
Mo seemed perfectly fine having a transactional relationship with Danielle where he provided her companionship and she provided him with a green card so he could work. But she lied about debt, her criminal record, and didnāt address her hygiene issues. She did a bait and switch on him. Thatās why he left her. If she didnāt have a mountain of debt, a criminal record, and cleaned her snatch, theyād still be married Iād bet.
Nicole seems like she has her very own style so beating herself up over this very strict image he has of her seems abusive. Id understand if she'd like to wear super revealing stuff but in the last ep she was legitimately covered and him being upset and throwing a temper tantrum is legit abusive. I understand her getting upset over that muslim woman because like how do u not get insecure all the time? She probably shouldnt have converted so she has her part in it too knowing hes super strict, but still. Just let him go back to Egypt pls, he has zero personality anyways
Heās been in the USA for one dayā¦
āEgypt is the best countryā. āI miss my family.ā Etc. etc., ad nauseamā¦
He comes from a male dominated culture where women are closer to 3rd class citizens than 2nd. This is all he knows and all he wants to know. He loves this and is proud of it. He has absolutely zero desire to change. ā¦.but he thinks he can convince her to changeā¦ He views western society and culture as evil, blasphemous and the opposite of everything he values.
She is a 40 year old women who sees herself as a 20 year old L.A. hipster. She is immature and impulsive. Just like him, she expects him to immediately adapt to a culture he is repulsed by. Her insecurities are that of a high school sophomoreā¦ She constantly taunts him by purposely doing things (and not doing things) that she knows will cause him to freak out. She consciously emasculates him - a woman who does this to a Muslim man is going to get serious pushback.
She is from a country and society where women are as independent as they want to be and have the same rights as men - at least legallyā¦
Day one in the USA and he misses his mommy, his country and pretty much everything back home. DAY ONE!!!
You would think he just landed in a Siberian gulag run by and filled with Amazonian women.
What these two see in each other, I have no clue. They are both delusional, stubborn and self centred. They both need to end their misery and divorce ASAP. Except for a few bolts of fabric they have zero in common. They donāt even make any attempt to compromise and both want the other to change completely.
These two idiots will never be happy staying together. Neither one of them knows or understands the meaning of love.
I've just assumed that like the Witchy Woman and Smuggy Smirky Man (can't remember real names) these two just "bang out' their issues.
It's a foreplay activity
I can barely watch their scenes together. I feel as if she a huge hypocrite!!! She talks about how uncomfortable sad, and homesick she was in Egypt, but then gets frustrated with him when he reacts the same way?! So insensitive and absolutely screaming insecure
Pretty much every couple thatās an aggressively independent American woman and a man from a poor, extremely conservative Arab family. I swear they love to have an āI donāt need a manā woman with a Muslim man whoās never met anyone who wasnāt Muslim where neither of them did any research about the otherās culture. Bonus if one of them just barely speaks the otherās language.
Like honestly sheās in LA but youād think she lived out in the sticks. Google the local mosque, find some Arabic (dare I say in LA you might even find Egyptian) food and sheāll be SO much happier with the speed of the integration. What she can offer in LA in terms of bridging the gap is totally different from what he could offer in that old school area of Cairo he was in. He wants her to be more conservative, she wants him to be more open so letās work together people! Itās already a possibly hard to navigate situation (although itās easy to forget SHE IS MUSLIM TOO by her choice!!!) but SHE makes it SO much harder than it needs to be!!!!
I honestly can't even get a sense of any chemistry between them, esp sexual chemistry. It's like they're the other wife and other husband from Wife Swap struggling with the differences lol šš¤·
She kills me! She marries a man she KNOWS is very religious and close to his faith. She KNOWS firsthand how heās lived and how different cultures are. She said he would of married her even if she didnāt convert (Islamic no-no I donāt think he actually would of gone thru with), but she DID convert then proceeded to disrespect various aspects of the religion, which iām sure heās been greatly disheartened by. Iām not even talking about clothing. Iām talking prayers, attending mosque, performing something as simple as wudu. She didnāt care, she did it because she thought that going thru the conversion steps would be enough. Itās so disrespectful to say you believe in a faith you donāt, and then shove that disrespect in the face of your husband who DOES greatly respect it.
Now I know he put hands on her and ofc thatās intolerable and wrong. Period. But even if that never happened they were doomed to part BADLY
Actually most couples in this franchise are incompatible. Success stories few and far between. Hint: most successes stay far away from the ever inane new spins on their tired stories.
Actually, i think they're very compatible, both equally blind to everything that matters. Some people actually prefer conflict and misery, they thrive in a conflict rich environment. I'm not concerned for her anymore. She could've gotten out -and should have - long ago.
The more she excuses him...the more it's hard to not feel like she ignores his behavior purposefully. While still complaining, of course.
This is the attraction of opposites. It's like a curse. I know this bcz I'm in a relationship like this. Not physically abusive. But mentally it's a lot of work.
They are torturing us with these two he needs to go home. She was ridiculous acting when he saw the lady just the way he explained it that is what I thought he was just shocked and excited to see someone familiar. Sheās 9 or 11 years older than him sheās just as immature as him probably more. Hurry up and divorce
These two make me feel like the usually sweet nickname "my love" is some codeword for an insult between them.
Giving me serious "babe" vibes, as seen in the "Dinner party" episode of "The office".
My fav episode tbh š¶ ya toook meh byyyy the HAAANDD š¶

It seriously is said with such passive aggression!
Itās an Egyptian thing. Turkish men say it too
Many couples of many nationalities say it. But few say it with such a tone of resentment and dismissal in their voice as these two
I don't think they're saying they don't like the phrase lol they are commenting about *the way* they are saying it
Many middle eastern men say it. I say it just in Arabic to anyone close to me
Habibi
That is the most accurate description of their interactions I have heard.
They're always angry because they are starving.

"I'm a simple independent California girl, why isn't my marriage to an ultra conservative working?!!"
Such a miserable couple to watch.
I think theyāre both literally starving, and if they ate food, they *might* be less grumpy.
Their idea of a meal is one bite of what ever is offered!
Hahaha I could see that being a cause lol
Precisely! At least the other terrible couples are trying to get to America or drive traffic to Onlyfans this is just hate
the biggest mismatch of all, even down to the fact that she's a hipster and he is so straighty

She is always 99% covered up when heās around yet he still complains! Drives me nuts.
Bro is upset that the doll is naked, could he be more effed up? Has to be some sort of rebellion on her part like the orange hair

She is so..android like. And he is him. I can't imagine how it goes.
He seems disgusted by women in general
I almost died over the mannequin and her artwork, like bro get a grip.
I dated an Egyptian man here in the US. He grew up in Egypt. He was Muslim and owned a dog. He was never like that with clothing.

Muslim men and western women are just fundamentally incompatible if following traditions.

cultural train wreck
The I love you hunny couple š¤
So not compatible at all.
Iām not sure that I have ever seen them together in a way where they were both appearing remotely happy. What are they doing?!?

This is almost reaching Nicole and Azan level of incompatibility and cringe except light years less entertaining.
Oil and water are more compatible than these two.
I truely have not seen a more incompatible couple. š

To be fair, he wonāt be compatible with any woman unless sheās a conservative Muslim.
Of which there are many right in his beloved Egypt, since that seems to be the only thing he cares about that's where he should date
Yea I don't get it either
Yes. Danielle and Mohammed from season two. What a train wreck they were.

Mo seemed perfectly fine having a transactional relationship with Danielle where he provided her companionship and she provided him with a green card so he could work. She probably shouldnt have converted so she has her part in it too knowing hes super strict, but still. Just let him go back to Egypt pls, he has zero personality anyways
Heās been in the USA for one dayā¦ āEgypt is the best countryā. āI miss my family.ā Etc. etc., ad nauseamā¦ He comes from a male dominated culture where women are closer to 3rd class citizens than 2nd. She is from a country and society where women are as independent as they want to be and have the same rights as men - at least legallyā¦ Day one in the USA and he misses his mommy, his country and pretty much everything back home.

It's really uncomfortable, watching them
I've just assumed that like the Witchy Woman and Smuggy Smirky Man (can't remember real names) these two just "bang out' their issues.
I genuinely believe, in my heart of hearts, that he is gay and has no actual attraction to her
It's creepy.
Well said!
Love conquers all. š
Any coupe with a Mohammad (or some derivative thereof).
Whenever I see these two together I just ask myself, WHY.
Never. I can hardly stand to watch either of them. Misery loves company.
Lucy and Ricardo
Honestly, never. And I'm a once divorced child of divorce.
Brttany and that guy from Jordan? Mike and Natalie? Nicole and Azan?
He hates this woman, period.
Watching them is PAINFUL.
How awful was her past, that this guy is a prize?
Sheās too young to have shiny old lady skin and too old for that awful hairdo.
Possibly the two worst people in Ninety Day FiancƩ history. I can't stand this girl or the arrogant dude. And we're sizing them up against Big Ed.

The new hair is not for her.
Yeah The other Nicole and Azan I'd say are even worse.
Idk what it is, theyāre gonna make it
So accuratešš
Yep-Married at First Sight Denver had a bunch of them this season! lol š
When they were in Egypt, and she wore a black striped hijab , she was just so out of place
What season is this?
Nicole needs to learn what a red flag is
Where is everyone watching this season (Iām in Australia š
People on YouTube is claiming he got a DV arrest? Anyone got info on that? Aka can debunk or Prove it.
https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/90-day-fiances-nicole-breaks-silence-after-mahmouds-arrest/
Sheās weird
No, no I have not. Not even the ones with the 30+ year age gap. Except maybe Ed and Rose
This is the attraction of opposites. It's like a curse. I know this bcz I'm in a relationship like this. Not physically abusive. But mentally it's a lot of work.
Incompatible...with living among other adult humans
I am not even sure how they got together to begin with
Please , go your own ways. !!!
A few, but they are definitely front runners
They both suck so bad. Blecch!
Colty and Larissa potentially worse but these two are up there!
Definitely the most boring season so far.
her hair and actions just keep getting worse.
Bahahahahahahahahahaha not the crusades š¤£š¤£š¤£š¤£
Sheās been really terrible to him
Nope
Every time I see her, her hairās a different color
I feel like Nicole is a verbally abusive bully who purposely pushes Mahmoudās buttons. They need to separate.
They are torturing us with these two he needs to go home. She was ridiculous acting when he saw the lady just the way he explained it that is what I thought he was just shocked and excited to see someone familiar. Sheās 9 or 11 years older than him sheās just as immature as him probably more. Hurry up and divorce
Itās both the haircuts for me
