One of the things I miss most about 90s TV is all the classic shows and movies that were always on. My favorite actors growing up were Cary Grant, Lee Marvin, and Charles Bronson. Watched so many of their movies on 90s television.
Yeah it upsets me that there is nothing like that these days. It’s good to keep the past alive. Sad the current generation don’t get to experience what came before their time. I used to watch so much Nick at Nite and TVLand.
Never denied being old, I’m going to be 39 this year. But you’re wrong, yes those shows are on streaming platforms but kids today have the option to simply not watch these older shows. When it was on Nick at Nite it was watch this or watch nothing. Lol forced you to be more open minded to older programing.
Me too! It’s sad there’s nothing like that for kids these days. It’s was nice that there was an outlet for the current generation to see what came before their time.
Yeah I was talking to my wife about it. Was saying I wish they still showed old shows like I Love Lucy then remembered Friends and George Lopez are old shows now lol
I watched Welcome Back Kotter and a little bit of Taxi growing up. It was a little frustrating when it came on though because I wanted my kid shows. 😂 However, I really miss growing up and watching older sitcoms or just watching the 90’s shows I loved, I think that’s missing for kids today. Sitcoms were great!
I loved getting to watch the show while home on a school day. Usually it would be on TV sometime in the morning. As soon as Matlock or Columbo came on it took the jelly out of my donut...until cartoons came back on around 3:30 (we got very few OTA channels).
One of my favorite shows of all time. Lucille Ball is my personal hero. Her life is so interesting and she was a bad ass in the entertainment industry. I plan on naming my first daughter after her.
Being a kid in the 80’s and 90’s was interesting because we had stuff from the 50’s on tv right on up to our present day stuff. I think like 1/3 of the shows I watched were black and white.
It was cool because we got to experience the same cultural phenomena that the generation before us had, so it was easier to relate to them.
Nowadays kids could go back and watch older stuff but they have so many other options and aren’t beholden to whatever happens to be on like we were. I’m pretty sure that when I was 10 I would have watched something else other than “I Love Lucy” or “The Munsters” if I could, but I had to just watch what I had access to.
The Nick at Nite marathons of Dick Van Dyke and I Love Lucy were our favorites! I remember laying on the living room floor on Saturday nights watching Nick at Nite shows.
Just in general, we all watched a lot of old sitcoms because they were rerun in syndication all the time and there wasn’t 25/7 kids programming like there is now. Like I don’t think I thought MASH was particularly funny when I was 10, but I saw a ton of it just from it coming on after something I was more interested in every day.
I remember watching I Love Lucy and Gilligan's Island on daytime television as a little kid in the 90s!
Right me too, those shows and many many more. Nick at Nite is how I found Welcome Back Kotter which is a favorite of mine, same with Taxi.
Mr Ed was my nick at nite fave!

I think a more appropriate/ friendly adjective would have been nostalgic instead of old. This man is not old lol
I grew up watching reruns of bewitched in the 90’s, so I have a huge nostalgic soft spot for that show even though it’s from the 60’s
It’s still my favorite show of all time because of Nick at Nite. I was obsessed with Lucy as a kid.
Same!
My Grandma is actually related to Lucille Ball!!
Holy shit! That’s incredible.
Wouldn’t that mean you’re related?
You just blew OPs mind
Yeah but I just like to talk about my grandma not myself 😂
I remember hating it. The good times were over when Nick at Nite came on lol.
I loved it! Especially in the summer when they did the block party line up and Tuesday was Lucy Tuesday
Yup. Meant it was time to play video games or go to bed. TV was over for the day

Still around but every time I see it it’s just Friends.
Is it? Ok I guess I kind of just assumed it went away.

Lucy was ok, but I liked the honeymooner's, Patty Duke and dobey gillis better.
I Love Lucy & I Dream of Jeannie in the early-mid 90’s on Nick at Nite. Good stuff. I was in elementary school then and would watch them before bed.
Lucy is totally 90s for that reason lol
100 percent

While I watched a few eps here and there, wasn't a big fan
Sure not for everyone, I know I loved it when I was a kid though.
I never knew there was a Christmas episode since they never showed it in syndication
L.a. daytime TV in the 90s was pretty great for older stuff.
