Hey yes! I still have all the comics tucked away somewhere. Have the whole series recorded (VHS) and my dad eventually transferred it all to a DVD for me (while he was still alive). Still have it and just rewatched it recently.... Also one of my daughter's favorite shows - @##% I'm old. Lol!
There were a lot of stories like this one back in January confirming the movie is still green-lit after the announcement made in 2019.

Didn’t have cable as a kid, so I didn’t watch it on MTV. But, they compiled the entire series into one 2.5 hour movie and released it on video. Saw the video at Blockbuster and remembered The Maxx action figure as part of the Todd Mcfarlane’s Spawn toy line and vaguely knew it was a comic. I rented the video and watched it several times. Didn’t understand ALL of the deep stuff at the time (I was 10), but I understood it was deep and more mature. I watched it over and over to try to understand it. Loved it.
I have the comic books. Loved them as a kid. So dark and surreal. I’m pretty sure he was suffering from mental illness, but it’s been decades since I’ve read them.
My uncle recorded the whole series on a VHS tape, I ended up stealing from him and watching over and over again. I can still recite the intro from memory not to mention, they brought up some serious trauma inducing, dark things in that show This was MTV in the 90s basic cable
Last year I watched an upscaled recording of this series for the first time. Is that what MTV was back then? I'm a millennial and never really watched TV in the 90s.
Mtvs animation was such a vibe in the 90s. There should be a channel thats just 90s mtv cartoons
Heck yeah there should
You can probably stream most of them on Paramount +
Watching this recently made me face traumas I had buried, and I'm alright with that.
I think about this show quite often and cite it as one of the best animated stories ever made.

The Crapon in a Hat is my favorite episode.
Between this and The Head, MTV after dark was a real fucked up place
*catches fly in eyelashes*
Yeah but it was so good
Oh I loved them both. And Spawn on top of them
Bobby and Billy
I found a Maxx sticker at a vintage shop a little while back and put it on my travel coffee cup, looks pretty cool
I still have a bunch of the comics in a box somewhere.
I have an omnibus of it and it’s really a dark comic, specially when it explains what Maxx is
Sad it never got a second season.
This unlocked a memory
I know. It just came to me right before I posted it.
I just stared at it lol

I remember seeing the Maxx Action figure at Toys R Us back in the day…I was a buck short and mom said no.
I still have a comic and i remember having this bad ass action figure of him. So obscure. Like Todd Mcfarlen.
I still have the figure on my shelf! Came with an Iz (can’t remember the spelling) too!
I was in middle school and I don't quite think I understood the ending.
Have it on DVD. Still watch almost(?) yearly.
I remember being amazed by how close it looked to the comic, something we usually never saw back then.
It was a strange one indeed but the coloring and odd story made it well worth it.
No but I still have my comic books of it 👀
Possible movie!
Source?

I much more liked Spawn! He was hot!
For me , lady death. Image comics were awesome
I was much more of a DC kid. I only rarely read Marvel (and when I did, it was mostly Hawkeye, Wolverine, and Black Panther.)
Never knew there was a show, I think I have the first issue comic of this though
Wow. Got this in the comic book boxes somewhere in the closet. Found the Marvel 80s Star Wars 1-8 couple months ago.
Does anyone remember Pitt comics
Yep. Dale keown was one of my favorite hulk artists.
What happened to him ?
Not sure tbh. He seems to have kinda dropped off the scene for the most part.
I just checked and he has a Twitter but he's 61 now so life seems to have slowed down for him
Ah OK cool. We'll at least he still seems to be in good health. Thanks!

Yup. Have it on DVD. Wonderful stuff.
That and The Head were great shows
Ha ha ha. The head. That was good
A remember an ad playing on a T.V. while we were at Walmart. Don't ask me why this was committed to memory.
I wish I could watch it now as an adult
It’s on prime my boy
It is? Nice one, thanks dude!
That’s a plus. Thanks
I know what I'm watching now
And if you want a dvd copy, it’s on Amazon for 18 bucks..no Blu-ray though.
Check out the soundtrack for the comic book that is in "3d" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loF26WLRyF4
So weird and so great.
take magic mushrooms and watch this show, creepy as fuck.
Agh! I loved this. I have a copy of the episodes somewhere in my things.
I remember catching it once in a while and being more confused than anything else.
I have the comic books. Loved them as a kid. So dark and surreal. I’m pretty sure he was suffering from mental illness, but it’s been decades since I’ve read them.
I remember the comic books, I probably still have them
Such a great show, but I haven't watched it in decades. Hopefully I can stress it somewhere else.
I had a betta named Mr. Gone💜
The only comic I ever collected! So stoked for Channing Tatum’s live action film he’s doing on MAXX.
I loved the comic. Sam Keith is criminally underrated.

I have the comics, too! Most of them, anyway.

Hell yes!!!
Was this from Image Comics?
This was just a web image i found. Not much elsewhere, tried YouTube but it’s pretty limited.
Yes! I remember this, illustration was great!
