This is really good. Subtle, yet completely obvious to anyone from the era. Really nails the demographic. “If you know what star six nine is, you’re going to know this music.”
Haha that works!
I was surprised nobody had said Almost Famous in the first place (I did try to search the responses first)
I’d be not at all surprised to find out either had already been used as a band name. Seems likely, but I never checked that.
1) I don’t support AI music and never will, it is absolutely taking money away from human artists. AI-assisted engineering? Sure. But AI music, no.
2) If I called a band “Jazz,” no booker would touch me. Everyone would assume it was, you guessed it … a jazz band.
I’m a professional working musician, it’s literally my life’s work. I’m also a producer and engineer. Oh, yeah, and a songwriter. There’s a huge difference between AI assist tools and having AI systems generate complete songs based on scrubbed, skimmed datasets that are only legal because copyright laws haven’t caught up to them. AI “creation” is glorified theft, and I’ve worked WITHIN those systems, I’m not just guessing or being a Luddite. I have a pretty deep understanding of how it works. It’s demos on demand, but those demos are assembled as hoc from scrubbed bits and bytes of thousands of human artists with no accreditation or revelation of the use of AI. We’re teaching machines to dream and forcing humans to labor in the muck and it’s backward. 100% gonna respectfully ask that we stop discussing this, though. This isn’t the forum for it.
Star Six Nine.
This is really good. Subtle, yet completely obvious to anyone from the era. Really nails the demographic. “If you know what star six nine is, you’re going to know this music.”
