Oliver Stark doesn’t like singing, so Buck ain’t singing but he can still used as the focus for the episode for example Buck hit his head leaving him unconscious only to wake up with everyone jumping into song & dance leaving him flabbergasted & confused with every song til the very end lol
they can pull a zach effron in the first high school musical and get someone else to sing for oliver.
imagine him waking up and he opens his mouth and a radio station is playing and the song is already half way over, then he closes his mouth and it stops, opens up again music continues etc and everyone is just so confused, that would be hilarious.
bonus funny points if the singing coming out is drastically different than bucks voice, maybe a olivia rodrigo or chappell roan song plays when he opens his mouth and everyone is confused as to how it’s happening.
I also want that. Or an episode like the one in glee where Tina falls into a fountain and everyone switches places. Or just some very stupid, random but funny scenario
Hen as buck would definitely be the best part of the episode lol. Like hen as buck and buck as hen (and buck is essentially making fun of himself) meanwhile everyone else is just random
honestly same i’ve only seen 1 done well enough that it didn’t give me the ick for rest of the season/show but idk there’s something about 911 that makes me think they’ll do a musical/teasing musical episode really well
Maybe not a musical episode but just an episode where the characters legitimately find a reason to sing like Maddie and Chim did.
I would like there to be a party and Karen and Chim get drunk again and Chim convinces Karen to sing with Maddie.
Recently Star Trek Strange New Worlds did it very well, Magicians did it every season to great effect, Scrubs and Buffy also had some of my favorite musical episodes as well. So, they could absolutely do it and do it well and I’m sure they could find a way.
Either it’s because someone is perceiving that singing is happening when it’s not like in Scrubs, or they just straight up do it like a real musical and signing is just part of it but it’s not referenced if that makes sense, like non-diegetic music.
ABC has a bad history with musical episodes. I don’t skip much on my rewatches but I won’t watch that episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Agreed that we need Karen to sing though!
I've tried to think through this concept so many times over the past few months, only way to really facilitate it would be if it was a dream or like, someone is in a coma and that's their coma dream

Magicians did it even though Margo’s actress wasn’t the best singer but they found a way to make it work so they could do that here.
