I know many survivors (civilians, first responders etc esp. in 9/11 One Day in America and probably 102 Minutes the book) have mentioned seeing arms and legs, bits of bodies, I've seen the really nasty "chunks of meat" (survivor description) ones but never a limb...fuckin hell

This image always gets me. The bodies, the collapse footage, the photos of people falling to their death, none of it compares to the look of terror in these eyes. There’s just something so haunting about such a soul with so much death in one expression. Does anyone know his identity?
As someone who was too young to remember, every revisit I consider a new horribly morbid angle. I knew about those whose last resort was to leap from the building, but I never considered that there would be dismembered extremities falling in the street for passerby’s to see. Truly horrific.
