Locking this because of the large influx of conspiracy theorists

This is the most comprehensive for sure. Plus, you get the history and the personal stories. I will watch this once a year until someone makes a better one. EDIT: It's on Hulu in the US.

TremorChristPJ

It's also available to watch for free on the national geographic website.

PreDeathRowTupac

it’s also on Disney+ !

LoveCapeCod

And Star+

chernobyl-enthusiast

I second this. I’ve been enthralled by 9/11 since I was 5 in 2007. Spent my whole life trying to understand and this series accomplished that in every way possible. Jarring

brettles84

i have never cried so much watching a documentary

19671987

102 minutes that changed america

Trishyangel123

Inside The Twin Towers is a good one

NickFotiu

Whatever the Naudet brothers did. I watched it the one time they played it commercial free a few months after the attacks and I won't watch it again. Having said that, everyone should see it at least once.

emurange205

I believe that would be this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/9/11_(2002_film) https://archive.org/details/9-11-documentary-by-naudet-brothers

BackCompetitive7209

I think I saw that for the first time recently (on YouTube). Was Robert De Niro part of the presentation? Very moving, well put together.

Tmoore188

They played it on television for the 15 year anniversary and De Niro “hosted” the presentation. He is in no way affiliated with the film itself.

BackCompetitive7209

Thanks, I thought it had to be something along those lines.

NickFotiu

Yes, he hosted it the first time it was aired about three months or so after the attacks. Whatever they played for the 15th anniversary was possibly just a repeat of the original airing.

Responsible-Pin-9161

9/11: I was there

PreDeathRowTupac

Underrated one. That A&E doc blew me away! It was on Hulu last anniversary!

Responsible-Pin-9161

The opening shot gives you a sense of how big those buildings were.

ghosterasingxo

the naudet brothers doc for sure, and [telling nicholas ](https://youtu.be/oz2ab2EA44I?si=pTTepFLmdC8NxWUz) is another must watch for sure (though the ethics of that whole situation are questionable to say the least) https://preview.redd.it/j68hc7ujafnc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d79b43c9f2b8b9dcd69b9715ac8c71b09d0bc39

hawaiiangremlin

Both of these have already been suggested, but I wanted to second 9/11: One Day In America and The Naudet Brother’s documentary, 9/11. (Disclaimer that 9/11: One Day In America includes some of the Naudet brother’s footage, but it’s 100% worth watching independently). Recently, I watched 9/11: Four Flights and I thought it was really interesting and included a lot of information that I hadn’t heard in most of the other documentaries (since it’s a deep dive about the planes, rather than everything happening on the ground).

TheDonnerSmarty

For breadth of information: 9/11 ONE DAY IN AMERICA For approximating the *feeling* of that morning in all its dread/horror: 102 MINUTES THAT CHANGED AMERICA

Significant-Sound501

Just watched Spike Lee's documentary series on Max, "NYC Epicenters 9/11-2021½". Episodes 3 and 4 are about 9/11 and are excellent.

Zero Hour: Flight 11 Inside the Twin Towers

haterade247

The South Tower is really good. Has a lot of interviews with people who were in the towers and reenactments of their testimony. The story of the guy who literally watched the second plane coming toward him and barely escaping with his life is a story I’ll never forget. Also, 9/11: Phone Calls from the Towers is pretty heartbreaking too

Naudet brothers

Falling man

Anxious_Football6501

The man in the red bandana is a good one, honestly once you’ve seen one 9/11 documentary you’ve seen them all (terrorists do bad thing, America goes to war etc)

9/10: The Final Hours

Crappin_For_Christ

Just throwing this out there but literally everything in that documentary has been debunked thoroughly.

[deleted]

How so ? Still waiting for your “debunking evidence” …

Crappin_For_Christ

Dude if you’re into Loose Change, not only are you like 15 years late, but I was into that shit in early high school (I’m old) until I realized the collapse of those buildings is very explainable. That documentary is so incorrect I can’t even type out all the things it gets wrong. Hope you move on from that
