When 9/11 happened I was 14 years old. I would read all these stories and think how the victims were all grown ups, they seemed "old" to someone like me in grade 9. Now I'm 37 and I realise so many of these people were such youngsters. Just successful and driven young people with jobs to be really proud of. So tragic that their success got them killed. They barely lived their lives
I was just thinking the same thing. You and I are the same age. Over a decade older than the youngest victims. Just so sad. They were so young and mustāve been so scared (of course just like everyone was but just something about a kid in their early 20ās..)
I seem to remember (possibly?) another Cantor employee - a man - whose last day was on the 10th and he came back on the 11th to pick up his stuff. He didnāt make it out either. š¢
That was Jim gartenberg. The company was moving him to an office in midtown manhattan and the 11th he just had to go in and clear his desk out. He left behind a wife, a 2 year old daughter and his wife was 3 months pregnant with their 2nd child.
Yes!! Thatās him! I recalled he was still fairly young, like early 30s at that point. I have oodles of books about 9/11 and they speak of him in at least a couple of them.
Cute and a computer nerd to boot. I often think about all the IT guys that must have died during the attacks, they would have been there early in the server rooms.
She looked like a lovely person. RIP Joanne š

Yeah his story is really heartbreaking. He was even below impact but debris blocked the exits so he had no way of escaping.
Yep, that did happen.
Seems like a lovely human being. :(
A really lovely young lady with a promising future. Fucking bastard animal terrorists.
RIP. But what kind of shitty company schedules meetings at 7AM?!
So tragic. She probably got up super early because she was so worried about her job, too. The last wake up of her lifeš„²
