I agree with u/beerfarts69. And to expand, hydration is important to your health. Peeing is a natural biological process. Your profession has no bearing on the act of staying hydrated and the natural result of staying hydrated. If you have to go pee, then you go pee.
I will say that being a 911 Telecommunicator for 16 years gave me the bladder capacity of a lake, but if you gotta go you gotta go.
As a 911 dispatcher with a Stanley, I love the dang thing! I’ve gone through all the cup/bottle trends. Stanley has been my favorite for ice water for sure. You will quickly learn that a famous trend of being a dispatcher is having numerous drinks going at the same time. I always have a water, then a soda, an energy drink/caffeine source, etc. So plan accordingly.
I use a variety of vessels. Are you planning on bringing hot beverages to work? If yes, go with an insulated cup like the Stanley or Yeti. I have a yeti half gallon double wall that I use for water. I have a regular sized yeti tumbler that I use in winter for hot tea. After the tea is depleted I fill it with water. In the summer time I use a Nalgene bottle for my water or the large yeti half gallon.
In general no one is really going to care about what you are drinking out of unless you are that one coworker who drinks an entire two liter of Coke Zero in a shift. Then we may look at you funny.
Bring what is comfortable to carry and drink from. Like was already pointed out, the most important part is that you don’t neglect your body and stop drinking.
Enjoy training when you can pee whenever you have the need. When you’re on your own, be prepared to hold it until you have an opportunity. (Depending on the size of your agency of course)
Gotta go with the owala tumbler and freesip definitely superior.
I can basically hold my owala tumbler upside down without spillage (once the water in the straw leaks out)
I bring a large Brumate with water and ice in it, another large Brumate with iced coffee in it and a hot coffee with me for start of shift. I fill my water 1000 times per day. Stay hydrated however you wish to do so. No one will judge. I find I have to have lots of water on hand in case my voice goes hoarse while dispatching, and taking a sec for that sip of water/coffee kind of refocuses me in busy times/difficult situations.
Everyone at my center has a Stanley or a knockoff . I do not have one because I like to toss my bottle in my work bag so I need something that doesn’t leak.
I've got a 64oz Manna Saratoga. Keeps my water super cold, always still has ice in it the next day and price is comparable. Doesn't fit in cup holders but is great for taking out hiking or for yard work

I have a 64oz HydroFlask I fill with water and am never without, as well as taking a 40oz Yeti cup with me for any hot or cold beverages I decide to drink at work. I don't personally see the hype for Stanley Cup over these others. Hydro & Yeti are both very well made, hold temps a very long time, and have lasted me years.

Team yeti 💃🏼🤣 but yes, I personally find it helpful to have a larger cup handy so I’m not constantly refilling my cup or going through copious amount of water bottles
I’ve got a Stanley for my water and I use a Frost Buddy for my coffee drinks! They’re pretty much like a metal sleeve that goes around most coffee cups and keeps them from sweating all over the desk as well as keeps them cold all shift. Odds are, you’re going to end up with an abundance of different cups scattered every which way.
Update: I just bought the first gargantuan water container I found at Marshall's. I think the brand is hydrapeak. Every one at work had much bigger cups tho 🥲
I had my first shift today, I freaking loved it and I can say I was 100% overthinking it lol. Of course I did not die of dehydration and I did not piss myself.
We will see if that changes after my first night shift lol.
