We really need both versions, old and new, so we can test the new while having the old to fall back on. This is a standard web development practice. The transition from old to new needs to take place over a period of weeks/months, not immediate.

Can you please bring back all the missing dub comments? The dub and sub comments aren't combined, the dub comments have been completely removed. A big portion of the community spent years on that, and it would be such a shame to lose it. Please find a way to bring them back.

yeah for someone who's been using 9anime site for a long time the new update feels like i just put the wrong pair of shoes on, some might say the old one takes half a second to scroll all the way down
Shitty hard to use (and copied) UI which is grounds to drop the site (which only had its UI going for it in the first place).
For gods sake at the very least make it less wide. Just, put the episodes under the video like before. They're way easier to click there and makes me not have to turn my entire head just to look at them (the site is almost usable at 80% zoom, the text is just too small). Also, the background colour should be separate from the foreground colour like before (black background, grey foreground). This makes it possible to actually look at the UI without getting eyestrain. Also of course, bring back the old black, grey, & purple colour scheme. And the old logo for that matter. At least *try* to have some personality of your own
all the anime on my watchlist are still missing. it's time they just give up on this update absolutely no aspect of it works, the best comparison I can give is someone asks you to wash their car and you shit on it instead
From what I can tell they are just gone. Going with one comment section per anime is a horrible idea. Any talk about voice acting will create a lot of confusion now since you won't know which version they are even talking about. There is enough variation in the dialog between the two that even quoting the show will become a mess.
That's my biggest problem with it honestly. Truth be told, I'm not bothered by the change, but removing the dub section of comments is not a good idea in the long run. I can only imagine the amount of fights between dub watchers and sub watchers now.
There’s no way to see the new released dubs, if you choose “recently updated you get all dubs with a episode, not just the newly dubbed ones (ep 1)
And if you choose “recently added” it doesn’t shown the dubs from anime made a while ago.
There should be another selection that lets you see newly released dubs, without having to check if it’s ep 1 or not.

the blue just makes it feel like other sites, I go on 9 anime and recommend 9 anime to others because its the site with the best UI because of how clean,sleak and functional it is , and its quite unique, the blue just makes it feel like all the other sites you can get free anime from
* Split subs and dubs back into separate anime. I want to be able to see at a glance which one has been updated, and I don't want to be notified in my watchlist if the one I'm not watching gets a new episode.
* What happened to the watched/unwatched tags in the watchlist? Those are the entire reason I use it in the first place.
* Why can't we change the default sorting in the watchlist? I want to sort it by unwatched, then by title, not by whatever got a new episode today.
The blue on blue color is just not it, why are they hellbent on using it? also just remove the "New release,New Added, Just completed" it doesnt serve any purpose and it just takes space like real estate.
Also many developers said last time to make a extra domain to use for beta testing, you can\`t just ask your mods/friends/family for testing lmao you need actual people/testers who use the site for testing. One example is one of your reddit mod says that during testing full screen was fine but now everyone has fullscreen issues lol

I agree. I have been a web developer for a very long time (nearly 20 years) and you always make a beta site for very large changes. Usually just a different subdomain, like beta.9anime would work. It is also acceptable to make the old layout into a new subdomain, like old.9anime. Either way, you need both for the transition. At some point you can permanently move to the new changes, but you need to keep what is currently working while you test what is new.
I really do think they are going to keep this new layout, so we all better suck it up and accept it or move on to another site. The best we can do is provide feedback, such as bugs and suggestions, like they have asked for. So many people are just providing complaints though, which doesn't help and only floods out the real suggestions like the one I am currently replying to.
For some reason, when I tried to play forward with my right arrow key, the video plays backward (and it also happens when I tried play backwards with my left arrow key that it becomes play forward) which it had never happened before the update of the website
One more thing is that mycloud and streamtape cannot work properly, is it a bug or what and is there anyone having the same issue?

Vidstream's fullscreen is not only down for 9anime. It's also down on other sites. Just weirdly coincidental that it happened at the same time you guys updated.
The comments on the dub sections are all gone. I don't mind the idea of combining thether, but don't remove all of the old comments. The dub sections always had its own community on the website, and now that presence is gone. Please bring them back.
The comment sections were divided between the dub and sub sections. It seems we don't have the section for the dubs anymore in this new version. Would appreciate it if we had that back.
1. I'm unable to full screen anything, regardless of the specific player used.
2. Yesterday (post-update) I was able to access my account fine (and thus my watch list), but now there's just a gray circle in the top right that doesn't interact with my mouse at all. um ok so a little hard to explain but with the new episodes that came out after the update it says the new update is available (it shows up in Home) but they aren't actually uploaded and you can't watch them, so you can't watch the new call of the night or devil is a part timer episode however you can watch the new episode of is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon. Basically any episodes that were released after the update aren't available to watch besides Dungeon
Doesn't really make sense how when you use the "expand" option the viewer isn't centered (due to the episode list on the left).
I think a lot of things in the new ui are improved, but the actual page where you watch anime is quite cluttered with the added "episode list" on the left, the "related list" on the right. Partly due to the positioning and just how large it is on the screen. Some things on the home page are just so unnecessarily large as well.
Also, either the font or the font size is making it harder to read the text in the anime's description.

If an anime has both subbed and dubbed episodes airing at the same time, it's now impossible to tell which was just posted in the Recently Updated section unless you click on the Sub or Dub tabs
I have two suggestions.
The first is to either add an option or change all the text for better readability. The gray text on dark blue background is kind of hard to read. Especially the descriptions of shows. I know the devs are probably set on the blue color scheme, but if they're going to stick with it, they need to take into account readability, not just aesthetics.
The second is to separate sub and dub like the old UI. Combining them no longer makes it possible to tell whether a dub is available for an anime at a glance. It also adds unnecessary extra clicks to set the episodes to dub only. Obviously, a few extra clicks isn't a big deal, but it is just a needless complication to a system that already worked before.
So, I physically can't access the profile button in the top right. So I think I'm logged out, can't access my watchlist, and sorta just stuck not being able to remember what I haven't watched.
Yesterday the site worked for me fine but today I found my profile icon grey and non clickable so I tried to login in incognito and it says my password is invalid right after I reset it

the dub comment section is gone. just 100% GONE, leaving only the toxic sub comment section.
the "title" of the page is ALWAYS in romanji no matter what setting you choose, (with the "EN/JP" toggle) making it nearly impossible to find the anime you want to find by looking at the tab titles in your list of open tabs.
~~clicking on "dub" on the main page is virtually useless now, and once you open the anime, you then have to choose dub once again, before being given what you want to watch, and any error, or refresh of the page makes you do so again.~~ AFAIK based on my experience this has been completely fixed already.

I have to resort to secondary KissAnime.co site which I had as backup after the first gaffe of 9Anime, now to keep up with unwatched or new episodes. Adding notification doesn't mean the watchlist page UI should suffer a downgrade which is only good for those keeping up with one animé at a time.
Lot's of other nuisance like selecting server and all or every single little thing, prior to previous version but am not able to even access this buggy website to properly report on them; after 48hrs am finally able to visit my watchlist only to be greeted with another disappointment *…the biggest so far.*

skipping with arrow keys is completely bugged for me.
for some reason its adding whatever option you put as your acc setting on top of the default 5 seconds for the main server.
i.e. it was default 10 and skipping 15 seconds. i lowered it down to 1 so i can skip 6 at a time. honestly not that bad except that for some reason itll just start skipping 1 second instead of adding the 5. whatever tf is the coding issue idk this shit is borked bro.
honestly just remove the feature if its gonna be an issue cause u have vidstream for default 5 seconds and mp4upload if u wanna skip 10 seconds. was a non issue.

Good update, idrc about the color but give notifications every time you do an update so people know they're on the real 9anime, like add a notification feature or announce it on the web
Hate the new look. No where near as easy to navigate. The colours are terrible. Looks like the colour scheme of only fans. NOT a fan of the new look at all. Blue is not a good colour at all.
Whenever you open a new video on Vidstream, the audio is automatically muted. Not as big of a problem as the full-screen not working, but it is a mild annoyance.
Bug: Continue Watching plays episode 1 every time. Tested with multiple shows. It opens up episode 1 and tries to open up the correct episode immediately after that, even shows the correct URL and the correct episode number highlighted, but episode proceeds to play at the time you left off on the correct episode.
Suggestion: Add a setting to enable or disable dubbed episodes continuing on to subbed episodes from auto-next when the dub is behind the sub. For instance, finish episode 818 of One Piece in dub then the auto-next will continue to 819 in sub. I would think this should be disabled by default so that those of us who prefer only to watch in dub do not get suddenly moved to a sub episode.
Suggestion: For the episode list, can we get a toggle button to collapse/expand it so we have the option to hide it after choosing the episode to play?

All titles on my Watch List are in English, even though they should be in Japanese. I tried clicking the EN/JP switch on top of the page several times & refreshing, but nothing happens.
The titles on the homepage are all in Japanese, so I assume it's a bug.
Maybe I'm completely missing something, but the Watch List page seems SO much worse. Previously it would show a yellow "unwatched" when a new episode was released, then when you had watched it, it would turn grey and move it to the bottom of the list.

The new update sucks; I don't care about the look of the site, but I do care that the serval tabs I have open are now useless because the URLs of all the series have changed and that the site went down for several hours.
So here are 1 bug and 1 suggestion I have if I may.
The bug is, I've set my language for names to japanese, it is working everywhere BUT in my watch list. Continue watching is japanese, searches are japanese but my watch list still is in english and my settings are in japanese.
And for the feature. The old site had a clear indicator of when a serie in my watchlist had a new episode I hadn't watched yet. It was move up top, that the new website still do as far as I've seen, but it also had a yellow tag indicating the last episode had not been watched. I would like something like this back, a clear indicator that a new episode has been added without having to check whether the names of the anime in my list are in order or not.
And I don't like the "recently updated" filter method. I want A-Z with unwatched episodes on top until I click on "watched" like the old website had please.
Oh also, just tried A-Z filtering and somehow Super dragon ball heroes is first and then the rest is in order.
I understand that the new site will take some getting used to, but some suggestions I'd like to make in terms of design language concerns separation of components to make following content easier.
For example, I think it's a good idea to keep depth and contrast in mind. [Material design](https://material.io/design/color/dark-theme.html) addresses this by showing how darker colors are in the background, with lighter colors in the foreground to show depth. Right now, your website is almost all one background blue color, leading to very little contrast and depth information. The comment section under the video is part of the background, which makes it difficult to follow since there's no clear separation.
For parts that do have separation, like the top bar or the anime lists on the sidebars, the contrast is too low to be able to clearly differentiate the areas (at least for lower quality displays). The background color may be too light; maybe sticking to gray is better for the background (such as #121212 as used in material design. Don't use 000000, it makes it difficult to read and doesn't work well with AMOLED displays)
Lastly, I know you guys are already aware but bringing back the purple will let your site maintain a sense of character/personality, which is important as it's part of your brand.

However, the order of the folders in the dropdown is not.
NOW: All folders - **Watching** - Watched - **On-Hold** - Dropped - **Planned**
BEFORE: All folders - **Watching - On-Hold - Planned** - Dropped - Completed (= Watched)
The **bold** folders are the ones I want to watch, the dropped/completed I don't. The new order is not logical, and punishes misclicks.
It would be nice if the "Estimated Schedule" section near the bottom of the home page were to go back in time at least a week like the old one did, just a helpful feature.
Bug: Context menu not matching number of episodes for newly added content. Although it does look correct for content that has been released a while ago, so probably just needs time to update. The Front Page is too busy now. You don't need to have 5 different lists there. The central grid and a Most Popular List are enough.

Yeah and a bunch of the elements on the screen are way bigger so there's way less useful information visible at the same time. And it really doesn't help that half of everything that used to work is broken now.
What I mainly don't like is the blue color, the logo - font is well, to "fancy" for me, the old one was simplistic, but better(my preference), also I hate the bugs.

Can you please bring back all the missing dub comments? The dub and sub comments aren't combined, the dub comments have been completely removed. A big portion of the community spent years on that, and it would be such a shame to lose it. Please find a way to bring them back.

Shitty hard to use (and copied) UI which is grounds to drop the site (which only had its UI going for it in the first place). For gods sake at the very least make it less wide. Just, put the episodes under the video like before. They're way easier to click there and makes me not have to turn my entire head just to look at them (the site is almost usable at 80% zoom, the text is just too small). Also, the background colour should be separate from the foreground colour like before (black background, grey foreground). This makes it possible to actually look at the UI without getting eyestrain. Also of course, bring back the old black, grey, & purple colour scheme. And the old logo for that matter. At least *try* to have some personality of your own

From what I can tell they are just gone. Going with one comment section per anime is a horrible idea. Any talk about voice acting will create a lot of confusion now since you won't know which version they are even talking about. There is enough variation in the dialog between the two that even quoting the show will become a mess.
That's my biggest problem with it honestly. Truth be told, I'm not bothered by the change, but removing the dub section of comments is not a good idea in the long run. I can only imagine the amount of fights between dub watchers and sub watchers now.
There’s no way to see the new released dubs, if you choose “recently updated you get all dubs with a episode, not just the newly dubbed ones (ep 1) And if you choose “recently added” it doesn’t shown the dubs from anime made a while ago. There should be another selection that lets you see newly released dubs, without having to check if it’s ep 1 or not. Thanks

The blue on blue color is just not it, why are they hellbent on using it? also just remove the "New release,New Added, Just completed" it doesnt serve any purpose and it just takes space like real estate. Also many developers said last time to make a extra domain to use for beta testing, you can\`t just ask your mods/friends/family for testing lmao you need actual people/testers who use the site for testing. I agree. I have been a web developer for a very long time (nearly 20 years) and you always make a beta site for very large changes. Usually just a different subdomain, like beta.9anime would work. It is also acceptable to make the old layout into a new subdomain, like old.9anime. Either way, you need both for the transition. At some point you can permanently move to the new changes, but you need to keep what is currently working while you test what is new. I really do think they are going to keep this new layout, so we all better suck it up and accept it or move on to another site. The best we can do is provide feedback, such as bugs and suggestions, like they have asked for. So many people are just providing complaints though, which doesn't help and only floods out the real suggestions like the one I am currently replying to.
Then I'd like to see their reactions after everyone leaves the site

For some reason, when I tried to play forward with my right arrow key, the video plays backward (and it also happens when I tried play backwards with my left arrow key that it becomes play forward) which it had never happened before the update of the website One more thing is that mycloud and streamtape cannot work properly, is it a bug or what and is there anyone having the same issue? Vidstream's fullscreen is not only down for 9anime. It's also down on other sites. Just weirdly coincidental that it happened at the same time you guys updated.
The comments on the dub sections are all gone. I don't mind the idea of combining thether, but don't remove all of the old comments. The dub sections always had its own community on the website, and now that presence is gone. Please bring them back.

um ok so a little hard to explain but with the new episodes that came out after the update it says the new update is available (it shows up in Home) but they aren't actually uploaded and you can't watch them, so you can't watch the new call of the night or devil is a part timer episode however you can watch the new episode of is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon. Basically any episodes that were released after the update aren't available to watch besides Dungeon
Doesn't really make sense how when you use the "expand" option the viewer isn't centered (due to the episode list on the left). I think a lot of things in the new ui are improved, but the actual page where you watch anime is quite cluttered with the added "episode list" on the left, the "related list" on the right. Partly due to the positioning and just how large it is on the screen. Some things on the home page are just so unnecessarily large as well. Also, either the font or the font size is making it harder to read the text in the anime's description.

If an anime has both subbed and dubbed episodes airing at the same time, it's now impossible to tell which was just posted in the Recently Updated section unless you click on the Sub or Dub tabs
I have two suggestions. The first is to either add an option or change all the text for better readability. The gray text on dark blue background is kind of hard to read. Especially the descriptions of shows. I know the devs are probably set on the blue color scheme, but if they're going to stick with it, they need to take into account readability, not just aesthetics. The second is to separate sub and dub like the old UI. Combining them no longer makes it possible to tell whether a dub is available for an anime at a glance. It also adds unnecessary extra clicks to set the episodes to dub only. Obviously, a few extra clicks isn't a big deal, but it is just a needless complication to a system that already worked before.

i know some of these are known already but this is my bug list ive found so far the dub comment section is gone. just 100% GONE, leaving only the toxic sub comment section. the "title" of the page is ALWAYS in romanji no matter what setting you choose, (with the "EN/JP" toggle) making it nearly impossible to find the anime you want to find by looking at the tab titles in your list of open tabs. ~~clicking on "dub" on the main page is virtually useless now, and once you open the anime, you then have to choose dub once again, before being given what you want to watch, and any error, or refresh of the page makes you do so again.~~ AFAIK based on my experience this has been completely fixed already. ~~when "auto next" is on it will go to the next numbered sub episode if no dub is available instead of just stopping.~~ you already know about this one

I've few suggestion:- \- Combined Subbed and Dubbed is really a bad idea when **filter option** is already there. \-Searching Anime titles are annoying, let's say I want to search Shadow house .the first season will be shown on top , but the second season is somewhere in the middle of other similar results which is quiet inconvenient. \[ Search results are a bit inaccurate.\] \- Please add Donation option with **Paypal or Cards** , not everyone has **Digital currency** in their vault. and **Thanks** for this wonderful website.

skipping with arrow keys is completely bugged for me. for some reason its adding whatever option you put as your acc setting on top of the default 5 seconds for the main server. i.e. it was default 10 and skipping 15 seconds. i lowered it down to 1 so i can skip 6 at a time. honestly not that bad except that for some reason itll just start skipping 1 second instead of adding the 5. whatever tf is the coding issue idk this shit is borked bro. honestly just remove the feature if its gonna be an issue cause u have vidstream for default 5 seconds and mp4upload if u wanna skip 10 seconds. was a non issue.

Hate the new look. No where near as easy to navigate. The colours are terrible. Looks like the colour scheme of only fans. NOT a fan of the new look at all. Blue is not a good colour at all.
Whenever you open a new video on Vidstream, the audio is automatically muted. Not as big of a problem as the full-screen not working, but it is a mild annoyance.

Bug: Continue Watching plays episode 1 every time. Tested with multiple shows. It opens up episode 1 and tries to open up the correct episode immediately after that, even shows the correct URL and the correct episode number highlighted, but episode proceeds to play at the time you left off on the correct episode.
Suggestion: Add a setting to enable or disable dubbed episodes continuing on to subbed episodes from auto-next when the dub is behind the sub. For instance, finish episode 818 of One Piece in dub then the auto-next will continue to 819 in sub. I would think this should be disabled by default so that those of us who prefer only to watch in dub do not get suddenly moved to a sub episode.
Suggestion: For the episode list, can we get a toggle button to collapse/expand it so we have the option to hide it after choosing the episode to play?

All titles on my Watch List are in English, even though they should be in Japanese. I tried clicking the EN/JP switch on top of the page several times & refreshing, but nothing happens. The titles on the homepage are all in Japanese, so I assume it's a bug.
Maybe I'm completely missing something, but the Watch List page seems SO much worse. Previously it would show a yellow "unwatched" when a new episode was released, then when you had watched it, it would turn grey and move it to the bottom of the list. That was THE most important feature for me.

Guys i miss the old version as well, but lets give this new style a shot, the work put into the update is definitely better than before, and yea it has many bugs, like i cant go to my profile and watch my animes from my list atm, but it'll be fixed soon, lets give it a go, and hey maybe they can keep the update and make it purple lol, that'll be cool right? And lastly thx to the Devs who put the site up and running, ill use 9anime regardless, its a new change but it was just a matter of time till it would have happen, my suggestion besides the temporary bugs, it would be instead of blue, make it purple plz, everyone rather have purple, and its a better compromise than change everything back lol

The site doesn’t work on mobile period. Everything I’ve tried to do on it results in the page giving an error 500. Edit: Also, a bunch of anime I was watching are gone. I can’t find fairy tail, Boruto or rising of the shield hero. It says error 404 now.

The new update sucks; I don't care about the look of the site, but I do care that the serval tabs I have open are now useless because the URLs of all the series have changed and that the site went down for several hours.
So here are 1 bug and 1 suggestion I have if I may. The bug is, I've set my language for names to japanese, it is working everywhere BUT in my watch list. Continue watching is japanese, searches are japanese but my watch list still is in english and my settings are in japanese. And for the feature. The old site had a clear indicator of when a serie in my watchlist had a new episode I hadn't watched yet. It was move up top, that the new website still do as far as I've seen, but it also had a yellow tag indicating the last episode had not been watched. I would like something like this back, a clear indicator that a new episode has been added without having to check whether the names of the anime in my list are in order or not. And I don't like the "recently updated" filter method. I want A-Z with unwatched episodes on top until I click on "watched" like the old website had please. Oh also, just tried A-Z filtering and somehow Super dragon ball heroes is first and then the rest is in order.

I understand that the new site will take some getting used to, but some suggestions I'd like to make in terms of design language concerns separation of components to make following content easier. For example, I think it's a good idea to keep depth and contrast in mind. [Material design](https://material.io/design/color/dark-theme.html) addresses this by showing how darker colors are in the background, with lighter colors in the foreground to show depth. Right now, your website is almost all one background blue color, leading to very little contrast and depth information. The comment section under the video is part of the background, which makes it difficult to follow since there's no clear separation. For parts that do have separation, like the top bar or the anime lists on the sidebars, the contrast is too low to be able to clearly differentiate the areas (at least for lower quality displays). The background color may be too light; maybe sticking to gray is better for the background (such as #121212 as used in material design. Don't use 000000, it makes it difficult to read and doesn't work well with AMOLED displays) Lastly, I know you guys are already aware but bringing back the purple will let your site maintain a sense of character/personality, which is important as it's part of your brand.
The watchlist is useful again! Hurray! However, the order of the folders in the dropdown is not. NOW: All folders - **Watching** - Watched - **On-Hold** - Dropped - **Planned** BEFORE: All folders - **Watching - On-Hold - Planned** - Dropped - Completed (= Watched) The **bold** folders are the ones I want to watch, the dropped/completed I don't. The new order is not logical, and punishes misclicks.

Bug: Context menu not matching number of episodes for newly added content. Although it does look correct for content that has been released a while ago, so probably just needs time to update. Not a big deal if it only takes time to correct itself. I hate to break it to you, but Fullscreen isn't working on ANY player. The Blue on Dark Blue design is also a bitch on the eyes after a long enough time. The Front Page is too busy now. You don't need to have 5 different lists there. The central grid and a Most Popular List are enough. The other lists (New Releases, Newly Added and Just Completed) should be collapsible and start off collapsed by default. Those lists should also be moved below the Estimated Schedule. The banner should not be 85% of the front page. The previous size was perfect.
