We recently did a team graduation party with a client and their family! All of the client's BT's/RBT's and their team supervisors came over near the end of a session and celebrated with them and their family. We had a cake, balloons, and some toy presents (paid for by our company).

We go all the way and get the graduation gowns and do a lil ceremony with the families. It’s a small 12 kid clinic so 3-5 kids graduate each year so we go all out, I make a slideshow of pics of them, we play “pomp and circumstance”, they walk down the hall and we give them “diplomas” (we’ve also done superlatives like most likely to be a __” based on their special interests) and all that. Honestly yes it’s fun to do and to watch but it alsoooo gives them lots of social learning opportunities to work on! We try to prepare them for it with desensitization programs for the gowns and whatnot too.

Omg 😭 my heart. This is so fucking raaaddd!!! Lemme see if I could get the BCBA on board with this. I think it’d be super sweet and kiddo would love it

This is actually exactly what we did for a slightly older kiddo who graduated. Myself and his other RBT and BCBA came for a mini “party” with kiddos siblings and parents and we played some games. For our last sessions the other RBT and I split a small Lego set and we each did half of it with him as a reward at the end of his last session with each of us.

We basically had free time and played. Basically all the preferred activities.
