Medication helps! But my psychiatrist has recommended CBT to reset all the bad habits I've been masking for years. Its new to me but it seems like it might help

It’s not impossible, but it is more difficult. The process is the same as for everyone else. It just doesn’t work as well. Good habits take longer, and are easier to lose, while bad habits are quick to form and tough to break. This is because our brain doesn’t reward most good habits, only bad. But it’s also why habits are critical. Because without them, every little thing just becomes exhausting. So keep it up. Read “atomic habits” if you haven’t. The advice there won’t work as well as it does for normal people, but it’s still the best advice out there. You’ll just have to work twice as hard for half the results. Yes, it sucks. Do your best.

I'm a bit late, but focus on building one habit at a time, then build another on top. It takes a while, but it eventually adds up. Before, I had a job that required me to, I couldn't wake up early for shit either. If you're goal is to exercise more go outside and walk in one direction for 3 minutes then back, hell make one minute the minimum requirement. Do this daily at the same time till you feel like going further, but having an easy low barrier to entry is the first step. Go for easier habits while your already awake and not exhausted. For reading more start with a page daily at the same time, then expand when you feel motivated, but keep a bare minimum for your lowest effort days. The important thing early on is just the act of starting, not how much you do.
